The second book in the Heroes of Time Travel Anthology Series a well written story that held my interest throughout. I want to read the first book. This is Elementary school teacher Sandra Cranston and Jerrod Ross who has been sent to the future from 1821 Cornwall, England’s story. A story that had me smiling as I read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Was he just a man of his time or?
A change of pace time-travel tale in this one the traveler in this is the gentleman Jerrod Ross he is in the future, not the past. Our lady is a teacher Sandra Cranston who finds Jerrod in a carriage from 1800’s. What is a poor girl to do but take him home? As the reader journeys through this there is the attraction and yes gang some steam too. I liked the characters there is drama in this piece will he stay or go? I enjoyed the book and I am happy to recommend it. I did receive a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
This is steamy, amusing and romantic. When the carriage Jarrod is riding in, in 1821, gets hit by lightning, he gets knocked out. When he comes to he finds himself in a strange house with a strange woman. Sandra is on her way home when she sees something weird in the woods and decides to investigate. She finds an unconscious man, dressed is period clothes, in an old stagecoach. She takes him home so that he can recover, and is flabbergasted when he claims to not know what a toilet is. He tells her he is from 1821, but she doesn’t believe him. But the more time she spends with him, the more she thinks that he’s telling the truth. There is a strong sexual pull between them, but neither wants to start something without knowing what the future holds. But the more time he’s there, the harder it is to ignore, so they don’t. This story has an extra twist to it that makes it truly fascinating.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.
Pure Delight
I am not quite sure what I was expecting from this book. I believed it would be like a lot of other time travel romances that I read, but I was delightfully wrong. It seems like most time-travel romances can be somewhat serious, which is fine as I love serious historical romance. Most time-travel romance also seems to go back to the past or spend the bulk of the story in the historical time. This particular time travel romance is simply funny, delightful, and not really serious or stuffy at all. Honestly, I think I could call it pure escape, and I don’t think I’ve ever called a book that precisely. It gets a little more serious at times as they grow to care about each other and their predicament, but the bulk of the book is not. It also mostly takes place in the present, as our hero has come forward in time to 2015 Nova Scotia.
Our hero, Jerrod, was an absolute Delight. He reminded me at times of an irritable Mr. Darcy (at least at first), if Mr. Darcy was having a particularly bad day and had no filter. This made for many amusing scenes and dialogue exchanges. He was just a lot of fun; the changes of modern life intrigued him, as he does figure out rather quickly that he has time-traveled (quicker than the heroine). He’s fascinated by flushing toilets and electricity. Our heroine doesn’t know quite what to think at first when she discovers an 18th-century carriage overturned in the woods near her, complete with a man dressed in Regency garb. If she decides to just roll with it, imagining that he is doing some sort of cosplay or LARPing. I could go on, but this book is just so much fun that if what I’ve said intrigues you at all, just grab it and prepare to be charmed.
I love time travel adventures, and it isn’t often someone comes forward to the modern age, so I was excited to see this book written by an author whose work I’ve previously enjoyed. The build-up of anticipation and the steamy parts were great, but the rest of the story seemed like it needed a bit more work because Sandra couldn’t decide if she was an uptight prude or a free loving carpe diem kind of person, and Jerrod couldn’t make up his mind on much either, so there was a lot of mental yo-yo-ing in this story, which detracted from the joy. Also, Jarrod was suspiciously comfortable with modern standards of modesty immediately, and I thought it was really strange that a quick temper in a man would be something that Sandra actually liked. Also it felt like there were a couple of loose ends in the story with information that kind of drizzled into nothing. All in all it was an entertaining enough story, but with a bit of tweaking it could easily turn into a 5 star tale.
I received a free copy of Timeless Heart, but that did not affect my review.

A short fun read that I read in a sitting. I particularly liked that Jerrod travelled forward in time, made a refreshing difference as most time travel romances travel back in time. I loved the chemistry between Jerrod & Sandra, also how Jerrod reacted to modern day plumbing & technology. The pace was good & the characters had depth & were very likeable
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
This is book 2 in the heroes of time travel anthology.
This is a very short book of 154 pages, to be honest its more like a novella.
The book is humorous, recommended for Adult reading.
Sandra a burned out teacher, whilst on a walk in the woods discovers a regency carriage.
Jerrod, a man from 1821, sits inside the carriage, wondering how he left Cornwall, England and his mine.
The characters are delightful, the way they interact, and try to resolve issues.
Many of which relate to different expectations from the time periods, they both live in.
