An abduction is just the beginning in a case of betrayal and revenge that will ultimately strike at the soul of the St. Paul Police Department. The ruggedly handsome Mac McRyan, a fourth-generation cop, is faced with a complicated brazen daytime kidnapping, a media storm surrounding the case, and political scrutiny. It is a case of betrayal and revenge that will ultimately strike at the soul of … the St. Paul Police Department. From the searing streets of St. Paul to the murky waters of the St. Croix River, Deadly Stillwater is a book you won’t be able to put down until its last gripping minute.
Deadly Stillwater delivers…
Gritty and real dialogue… behind the scenes banter and slang of the detectives.
Vivid yet quirky characters… likable characters, faults and all.
A story that builds… with clues that put you in the middle of the action.

I really enjoyed this read. It starts out slow, but in a way that just made it more realistic. Hang in there, it’s worth. Maybe put the coffee on because you’re going to want to stay up late and see what happens in the end.
Excellent Read
Excellent story, filled with twists and turns. Wonderful characters and a highly charged plot, which keeps you guessing until the end. Highly recommend!Looking forward to the next book.
I enjoy this authors books because he does a great job on his characters.
This story was well thought out and mesmerizing.
I’ve never read a bad book written by him. It’s hard to put his books down. I highly recommend reading any book he writes
Love Stelljes’ writing and characters; I look forward to reading more of the McRyan series.
The plot is about two kidnappings that are more about revenge than money. The author spreads out the clues in order to make the case move at a believable pace. I usually don’t like mysteries that have a huge police presence, preferring the lone detective type, but I did find Deadly Stillwater suspenseful.
Loved the novel and characters. Like John Sanfords Lucia Davenport, you gotta love the story about St Paul cops after the bad guys.
Having lived and worked in Minnesota I may have some prejudice but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It had twists and turns only a truly investigative mind could have developed. A great read.
A lot of story and it all happens it starts with a “bang”. You’re into it from the first page. A taunting masterful antagonist, a hero that has a lot to live up to and an almost stereotypical investigation infighting. However, it is well written and there is no dead time from the first incident to the end. Well developed characters and victims …
I enjoyed all of the books by Roger that I have read. I had recommended them to both my daughter and a friend of mine and they also enjoyed them very much. My daughter ordered a few of his books in order and has also enjoyed them.
I enjoyed this high energy book set in Minnesota written by Roger Stelljes. There are many twist in the book that pull you in and kept you interested in what will happen next, while showing you around Minnesota. I liked the characters that enter acted with each other and slowly unraveled
the plot and solving the case and kept me intertained …
I had a very hard time getting into this book
Very predictable, but easy reading
