This is a very good introduction to the Tarnished Saints brothers. Gave good insights into the men the boys would become (and why they were called Tarnished). And it was hilarious! I laughed so much!
I liked this book because some of the things the brothers did reminded me of some of the things that I did when I was younger. I plead the fifth as to which things I did. That being said, it was a little confusing to me to keep up with 12 Brothers in one story. This might make more sense after I read each brothers’ story. However, I felt that their dad’s character bordered on religious fanaticism. It was good to know that he didn’t physically take it out on the boys for just being boys. I actually don’t think they did anything not normal for young boys. However, I do believe that their parents had much to do with the problems they faced in their individual stories.
This story gives the story about the Saints early childhood and give a little history on the trouble they got into as kids. Good book!
Nice Intro to a Book Series.
This novella covers 12 days before Christmas in the Taylor household and the goings on of a rambunctious family. The tale is told from the viewpoint of nineteen year old Thomas, the eldest of 12 siblings and is a (free) introduction to a contemporary series of books about the, far from saintly, sons of a preacher. The boys and their full names are as follows:
Thomas Didymus Taylor 19
Matthew Levi Taylor 17
Judas Silver Taylor 16
James Zebedee Taylor 15
James Alphaeus Taylor 15
Simon Zealot Taylor 14
Peter Rock Taylor 12
John Thunderson Taylor 11
Philip Bethsaida Taylor 10
Andrew Webster Taylor 8
Nathanael Bartholomew Taylor 6
Thaddaeus Lebbaeus Taylor 5
After the story finishes, there are excerpts from each of the books which may give you a heads up as to which story you read next.
5 stars for Elizabeth Rose for this charming contemporary Christmas story Tarnished Saints’ Christmas. This is a series prequel. I just love when the main character is telling the story. The trouble these 12 brothers get into prior to Christmas is so funny that I laughed out loud. Elizabeth has such a creative mind and I would never be able to come up with these senarios. You need to read it to believe it and the fact that the father is a preacher makes it all the funnier! I highly recommend this Novella for the holidays, it will put a smile on your face.
This is a prequel to a 12 book series about the Taylor Boys. Sons of a strict preacher, this introduces each brother and provides a look into a slice of their lives around Christmas. This was really entertaining and showed the antics of boys and some of the troubles they can get into.. Looking forward to reading the entire series and know if will be excellent due to the author!!
i love this story, it hits the fact that no matter how much we love our children we as parents don’t always know what to do but what we think is for the best. this story is about a preacher that calls his sons the tarnished saints. you will learn out why. this is a good story and a good lesson for all of us.
This is a good set up of the Tarnished Saints Series.
