Tempting Tristan is a stand-alone M/M romance featuring two sexy, lovable alpha heroes. Fresh off the heels of yet another bad relationship, Tristan Brewer is taking a break from men to try to figure out where he keeps going wrong. He knows his biggest fault–he leads with his heart, not his head–and that’s never going to change. But after several introspective weeks, he’s … introspective weeks, he’s beginning to get a handle on things. That is, until badass heartthrob Alex Wells walks into his bar…
Alex has spent eight years in the army, months in a hospital bed, and far too long hiding his sexual identity. He’s guilt-ridden, damaged, pissed off, and up for a Silver Star for the incident that nearly cost him his life–and kept him from his grandmother’s funeral. But all he wants to do is live the life he’s always dreamed of and forget his stint with the institution that allows but doesn’t necessarily accept.
The chemistry between Tristan and Alex ignites from the moment they meet, and the more time they spend together, the hotter the flames burn. But the closer they become, the more Alex’s walls go up, and when the two walk onto a military base, Tristan finds out Alex’s physical scars aren’t the ones that run the deepest..

They’re tough, edgy, and accepting–most of the time. This story was so sweet. A M/M romance, both of the characters, Alex and Tristan were written to be really relatable characters- men who you would wish to be friends with in real life. Alex meets Tristan, who is a veteran and there are immediate sparks but more so, a loving and respectful development of a beautiful relationship. Melissa Foster takes an important issue, one about acceptance in the military and she does a great job of discussing it. We’re also surrounded by some fantastic supporting characters from her other books and as a huge fan of this author’s story, I always love to revisit prior couples. Overall, this was a heartfelt romance that just tugged at my heartstrings, especially Tristan’s story. I love that whenever I read one of her stories, Melissa Foster manages to just make me smile and wish I could live in one of her small towns.
While I loved the story, I absolutely adored the narration of the audiobook. Jacob Morgan and Teddy Hamilton are two of my favorites and they did the story justice by performing perfectly. They modulated their voices beautifully so I had no trouble differentiating between any of the characters during either of their chapters. Such a wonderful way to live through this story.
Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan have gave me two very different, diverse, and delicious men to fall in love with. I get very different and distinct voices for both young, sexy and virile men.
Tristan and Alex had some serious chemistry and smoke. These two sexy hot men both have their own reasons for being where they are in life today. One hot bartender. One sexy hot service man. Both with reasons not to have anything more than one night or one moment. But both finding a reason to take a leap of faith and want more, do more, have more.
The more that I listened to the fantastic voices of Teddy and Jacob. The more I found to captivate me and provide much appreciation. My one drawback was that I felt that this story between Alex and Tristan could have been expanded to include more exploration of the issues at hand. The options open to both Alex and Tristan. There was pain they both dealt with but in different ways. Their bond was there but was it enough to cement the course of their lives together. You have to come inside and listen or read this beautiful romance between two very sexy men with emotional baggage, loving friends, and fantastic support in the community around them.
I have said it many times before. I will continue to read the series that Melissa set before me. I find them each with their own draw and realism. With each not series and new world of love, life, friends and family become a connecting point for me. I loved taking the journey through life in Harborside with the characters both primary and secondary. I enjoyed the ins and outs of Catching Cassidy a friends-to-lovers and the heartache that goes with founding one’s self. I found solace in Discovering Delilah as she blossomed into the woman that she was meant to be before the world closed in around her and she finds that life is not always what is on the surface. And Tempting Tristan cemented me in Harborside. This one set fire to the world around me.
Alex and Tristan don’t start as #goals but there is no way you can end this book without feeling they are. Tristan is the kind of guy everyone one loves. Sweet, protective, and an open book- he makes the best kind of friend and boyfriend. However, some guys don’t realize the gem he is and throw him away. If he would let me, I would dust him off and be his new BFF(seems I’m too late though).
Alex,on the other hand, is closed off, nursing some spectacular wounds, and trying to adjust to civilian life. Seeing the gorgeous bartender was no coincidence yet he had no idea it would be life changing!
Tempting Tristan is all kinds of wonderful. A little angst, a little doubt, a lot of baggage, and a connection worth it all! Temptation may be a sin but keeping these two apart would be worse!
I am lucky to be part of the Tempting Tristan Blog Tour and get a copy to read and do an honest review.
Tempting Tristan is book #57 in the Love in Bloom series and is book #3 in the Harborside Night series but can be read as a standalone.
This was my first time reading an M/M Romance and I really enjoyed Tristan and Alex’s story.
Tristan Brewer is taking a break from me. He is seriously attracted to Alex and the feeling is mutual. Will he take a chance?
Alex Wells is ex-military, suffering from PTSD and the ghosts of army life. He comes to town to reclaim his grandmother’s house and to meet the famous Tristan Brewer she spoke so highly of.
They meet in a bar and the chemistry is instant. Unfortunately they are very wary of each other, Tristan coming out of a bad relationship and Alex self-conscious of the scars his body hold from the trauma of war.
This story was an emotional, heart wrenching love story.

This book was recommended in the Aural Fixation FB group and all I can say is THANK YOU!! Melissa Foster is a new to me author, but I was hooked as soon as I saw it was a MM story narrated by two of my absolute favorite narrators,Teddy Hamilton and Jacob Morgan. I was not disappointed. Melissa Foster weaves a beautifully written story of two men, Tristan and Alex, who are both fighting their own demons. Tristan is coming off of a bad breakup and has sworn off men all together until Alex walks into the bar and changes his life forever. Alex is an Army veteran, wounded in combat who has come back to Harborside after his beloved grandmothers death. Tempting Tristan is the love story of two imperfect men working to overcome their fears and find love. This story is emotional and sad at times, but also filled with so much love, honesty and truth. Their connection is raw and real and filled with so much love and passion. One of my top books of all time.
3.5*
Tempting Tristan was a really sweet, and I mean really sweet, love story. Alex and Tristan had an immediate connection, and even with their past issues they easily fell into a relationship. Tristan was hesitant at first, to go all-in with Alex, because of how he was treated by his ex. Alex had no qualms when it came to Tristan, he just found it hard to get past everything that he went through as a gay man in the military. And that led to him inadvertantly hurting Tristan, which was the last thing he wanted to do.
I appreciated that these two communicated. It may have taken Alex longer to open up about his fears and concerns, but Tristan never pushed and let him come around on his own time.
Yes, this was a definite case of insta-love, but when you know, you know. And it worked for me in this book.
This was the first book in the Harborside Nights series that I’ve read, and even with it being the third in the series I didn’t feel lost. The friendships were already established, but there was never a point where I felt like I was missing any important details, this was truly Tristan and Alex’s story.
A beautiful story about two sexy as fuck men who find love. After breaking up with his loser boyfriend Tristan founds Alex an ex-military a welcome change. He’s an honest man and isn’t afraid to show Tristan how he feels.
But as broken and scarred as Alex is, he suffers from PTSD and injuries Tristan still wants to be there for him. I liked this story but didn’t love it, it was a very sweet getting to each other romantic story.
I have been dying to read this and it did not disappoint one bit. This is a male/male read and whilst I have read several M/M books in the past (mostly erotica) this one was by far the best I have ever read!
I loved every minute of this book from the beginning to the very end. Tristan and Alex’s story is filled with so much emotion, romance and hot sex true to Melissa style, but this one was done in such a way that it didn’t matter that the leads were both male, the story was strong and you will love them both.
Alex has moved back to Harborside after his grandmothers death and following an honourable discharge from the Army following an accident that cost him damage to his leg – his leg is not the only that is damaged, as years of being the military has forced him to hide his sexuality. Now he is in Harborside he can finally be himself or can he?
Tristan has been hurt in the past and has sworn off men for a while, that is until Alex walks into the Taproom bar. He is a brilliant character and I loved how compassionate he was toward Alex and his injuries, how he helped Alex deal with his demons and try break the mould that the military had installed so deep in him.
I am not going to lie I did tear up towards the end as I was just happy that Alex stepped out his comfort zone and acknowledged Tristan the way he did – I am not wanting to spoil it you will just need to read it, but I loved that part and it made me fall in love with both characters even more.
For a M/M read this was so much more that just sex, even though that was hot no lying! It was a deep connection between two men, one of which who has had to deal with the harshness of being gay in the Army – I can imagine what it must be like but I think Melissa has done a bloody brilliant job and getting those feelings and emotions across in this book.
5 stars without a doubt.
Every book by Melissa Foster is beautiful. You can’t go wrong reading one of her books, period. Thank you for having it on Kindle Unlimited.
