I absolutely loved every moment of this book. The characters are unique, the world building like nothing I’ve ever read before. I loved loved loved every second of Knox and Harper. Just wow. 5 stars.
I don’t care how many times I’ve read this series…it’s ALWAYS good. This is one of the few series that I can read again and again, and it never gets old. Harper and Knox are just one of the hottest, best couples in any paranormal romance series EVER. I love this series so much, but let’s be real, anything Suzanne Wright writes is amazing. She can make you laugh one page, heat you up the next, and then have you biting your nails. I can’t recommend this series enough!
This was my first Suzanne Wright book and enjoyed it. Knox Thorne is suspected to be the most powerful demon in the US maybe even the world, but he’s becoming numb to the world around him. Until one night while watching a fight in the underground arena in Las Vegas Harper Wallis steps into the ring to settle a score and Knox is fascinated. After the match Harper is escorted to Knox’s office, she’s heard all the rumors but refused to be intimidated. Knox is even more fascinated after there talk Knox just can’t resist one more challenge. Harper refusing to back down accepts the challenge and shakes his hand only for them to both be shocked that she’s his anchor, his psychic match who balances him.
Now Knox is making it known Harper is his anchor whether she wants to be or not. While being Knox’s anchor should make Harper one of the most protected demons alive, there are those who have been looking for a weakness to use against Know and they believe Harper is it. Can Harper survive being his anchor and if she does what will it cost her?
I recommend reading this book and finding out, it was interesting and while several theories for who the bad guy is are posed it’s not until the very end that you really find out.
I liked it! It was a great twist on demons in paranormal romance books. I adored both of the main protagonists and can’t wait to buy #2 to continue their story!
I really loved this book! I loved the H and h, Knox and Harper. She is so funny and give a lot of sass for Knox, a j/p H. It is a serie but it finish with a hea what made me love it more, if possible!
Burn, the first Dark in You book, is an entertaining, unique ride.
Set in Las Vegas, NV, the story follows Harper Wallis and Knox Thorn. Both are demons. When they meet for the first time, the pull toward one another is tangible and immediate. They are anchors, a type of psychic mate bond between demons. Harper is resistant to bond with Knox. She’s independent, headstrong, and has reservations of her own. Knox, however, is determined to claim this feisty surprise — in more ways that one. Knox and his demon side don’t just want Harper’s soul, they want her heart, her body, her mind, and her demon. And Knox? This dominant, fiercely possessive, and sexual demon always gets what he wants.
Have you ever thought about demon politics? Me neither. But Suzanne Wright did. This surprising story features many different breeds of demons and their demonic power struggles. Enemies are afoot and fingers are being pointed in many different directions. Someone is after Harper and an attack against his mate is deeply personal to Knox. I really liked Harper and Knox together. They were funny, mature, and admired every part of each other. Knox’s character is very intriguing. He’s definitely all alpha male, but he is also respectful and he’s extremely protective of Harper.
This book is written in an interesting point-of-view. It felt new to me, but in a really pleasant way. Told in third-person, I liked how natural it read and how we could get Knox and Harper’s inner thoughts at once (no need for alternating POVs!). The way the chapters were written seemed to simultaneously cover both Harper and Knox.
I listened to this book on audiobook. The narrator, Cat Doucette, did a wonderful job reading the story. I liked the different voices she used for the various characters and how immersive her story-telling seemed to be.
I really liked this witty, original, and steamy story. I’ll be picking up book 2 ASAP!
I honestly wasn’t sure how I was going to get on with this, considering my PNR experience although somewhat extensive has never crossed over to demons…until now. But I should trust the author of my most read PNR series not to do me dirty. And she didn’t I really enjoyed this. It’s basically everything I already loved about SW books…but make it demons. Sassy heroine? Check. Alphahole Hero? Check. Fighting a mating bond? Check. Outside forces sent to try them/their relationship? Check. wonderfully antagonistic grandma? BINGO! Yes. For sure I will be checking out this series too. I guess I’m now a Suzanne Wright Stan account.
Kick-A** Strong-Willed Female Characters who are not your average damsels in distress just waiting around to be saved and their Alpha Hot Bad-A** Male Counterparts – cunning, loyal, and fierce heroes who protect what’s theirs and will definitely be getting their hands bloody while doing it.
The plots were excitingly well-developed, the plot twists and villain reveals were well-executed and just plain cool.
All in All – This was definitely a series I would recommend if you are into preternatural fantasy adult romance.
I’m at 4 and counting (because it’s not over yet.)

Everything I look for in a book. Paranormal is my go to genre anyway but add in suspenseful, action packed and steamy, yeah the perfect book in my eyes. I did not say this was a HEA but it’s an ongoing series. So it’s a HEA for now.
This was my first book by the talented Suzanne Wright and it definitely won’t be my last.
I loved the idea of inner demons almost like a dual personality.
So here we have Harper and Knox.
Harper is a wingless sphinx but not sure just yet quite what Knox actually is, something very scary I’d imagine if his inner demon and power are anything to go by (Scratch that I now know and all I can say is just yikes)
When they meet its obvious that harper and Knox are anchors which are demons that ground each other.
But not only this, Knox’s demon who is usually unaffected and easily bored wants Harper as his mate.
But along with being mates and anchors, there comes a whole world of danger as everyone seems to want a piece of Harper,
Harper was such a likeable character, feisty, independent but also very uncomplicated and unusually accepting, in fact, I think that was my favourite quality about her, her logical head and lack of unnecessary drama.
Knox well he was a major hottie and his inner demon just delicious,
I loved his easy acceptance of his mate and anchor even know it was unexpected.
I also especially appreciated his completely dominant alpha male persona but I also liked that it was tempered with compromise when it needed to be.
The chemistry between Harper and Knox was smoking hot and the pages sizzled with heat.
I really am looking forward to the next instalment in this fantastic series.

Suzanne Wright has become one of my favorite authors. I adore her shifter books, recently fell in love with her vampire series, and now I can add demons to the list of goodness.
Summary:
Harper Wallis lives a simple life. She’s close with her family, has excellent friends, and displays her artistic nature as a tattooist in the bright lights of Las Vegas. Boring really. Except for the teensy fact that she’s a demon. Still, the most exciting part of her life is corralling her girlfriends when they hit the town. That is, it is until the night she comes face to face with her psychic mate or anchor. Rumored to be the most powerful demon on Earth, Knox Thorne never intended to claim an anchor he doesn’t really need. But Harper is a compelling woman. She understands and accepts him in a way no one has ever done before, and does it not being afraid to stand up to him. The overwhelming need to have her in his bed helps, too. Surprisingly, Knox is ready to bond, and it’s Harper holding back. No one is aware of what breed Knox is and the enigmatic billionaire seems to have more secrets than the three-lettered government agencies. But Harper can’t deny the effect he has on her. That effect only grows when an unknown danger starts stalking Harper, and it seems that Knox is the only one that can keep her safe.

I never have any problem falling completely and wholeheartedly into an SW book. The story, the characters, the writing style, and really just everything pull me in every time. Despite my enjoyment of every book by this author, Burn wasn’t a book I had intended to read. I’m not sure why that was, but I am glad I finally cracked it open. Harper was a pretty badass heroine. Outwardly, she projected an aloof, somewhat aggressive demeanor, but beneath that she was intelligent, cunning, loyal, ruthless, caring, and unafraid to confront things head on. I liked her snarky personality and her strong sense of self. I did feel that her control diminished just a tad when the chase was over, though. Knox was the very definition of alpha. He was smart, lethal, cold, ruthless, uber possessive, and protective. Underlying that was a sweetness he didn’t always know he expressed, and only pulled out for Harper. He was definitely swoon-worthy. Harper and Knox went very well together, and not only as psychic anchors. Physically, they fairly sizzled in each other’s company, and emotionally they gave what the other needed freely and without conditions. I have to say that the intimate scenes in this book were some of the hottest I think I’ve ever read. I mean wow! Lol. Overall, I was entranced from start to finish. The storyline had action and romance, and flowed well. Supporting cast was great. Particularly the Sentinels and Harper’s girls. I hope in future books we get side romances along with the progression of Knox and Harper’s romance. I really liked how demons were portrayed here. It was different and entertaining, learning all of the different kinds. I have read very few books with demons as an MC, so I was pleased to find a series that puts them in the spotlight, and in a way that only makes me want more. I’m really looking forward to book two.
Burn is an amazingly written book which focuses on demon tattooist Harper Wallis. Harper’s life is pretty simple, she works hard, plays hard and lives for the people in her lair. Things change overnight when she finds out that she has a psychic mate or ‘anchor’ as it is called throughout the book, but not just too any anchor, to a demon who is rumoured to be the most powerful demon in existence.
But this story is not about smooth sailing; instead it is about two independent people fighting who and what they are to each other, whilst those around them try to sabotage not only their relationship but the world of the demons in general.
The main characters are amazing in this book. To begin with we have Harper, who is sassy, strong and independent. This is in comparison to Knox who is raw, male sexuality, wrapped up in a blanket of hotness/evilness. The two characters have a lot of chemistry which can be seen throughout the book and can I say it is H.O.T! Psychic fingers…..what! There is also some primal dominance from Knox which works really well in the book and doesn’t take away from Harper’s independence, if anything she totally embraces it. Other secondary characters such as Jolene and the Sentinels are fun and give you a bigger picture not only of how demons work but also of the friend/family unit that both Harper and Knox come from.
I really liked the appearance of Knox’s demon and would have liked to have seen more of it. There was just something that was ultimately intriguing about it…..hopefully he will pop up as his domineering self in other books.
The book doesn’t just focus on the romance of Harper and Knox; it also focuses on how the demon society works and what extents people will go to too have power. The story as a whole was very intriguing as normally a book about demons borders on the side of horror, but definitely not this book.
If you like a bit of paranormal romance with some hot scenes, then this one is definitely for you! And onto the next book I go…

This book was great from the first page to the last page. Harper Wallis was just a simple demon and lived a simple life. When she goes out with her family one night all things chances for her because she finds her psychic mate, or ‘anchor’ that is a guy so powerful demon in existence(Knox). Harper try’s to fight it and the demon because she likes to be a loner. Knox not only wants her as his anchor but he wants her in his bed and what he wants he gets. Now is the time to get the book to find out what happens to the people in it. I will be buying more from this author.
What I loved about this book was the fact that the main characters were demons and not some other paranormal creature. In the world the writer created, there were different types of demons, who had to deal with regular day-to-day life stuff (ie jobs, family, etc.). The thing that made this story great was the fact that the hero and heroine were so well matched, despite the hero being a stronger demon and the characters coming from different social standings. I loved the push and pull between them. Their journey toward love was really believable. I highly recommend Burn if you enjoy paranormal romances.
Loved it. great story. I was captured from page 1. amazing story. I cannot wait for book 2.

Review:
This is my second time reading this book and I like it as much as I did the first time. It feels like the first time reading it.
I really like this story because it is well developed. It has great characters and the world building is good. I liked a different take on demons and I found it really interesting. I liked all the type of different demons.
What is this book about:
This book is about tattoo artist Harper. Harper lives a good live, she has a successful shop and she loves her family and friends.
When she meets the famous, powerful and intimidation Nox Thorne she didn’t expect him to be her anchor. She didn’t expect to be so attracted to him, and she most definitely didn’t think it would be the same for him. You see Nox has quite a reputation and Harper is sure he will grow tired of her and leave.
Nox isn’t somebody that is walking away from something he considers his, and he most definitely considers Harper his.
He didn’t think he’d ever like a person that’s defying him at every turn, he didn’t expect her to surprise him as much as she does. And he most definitely didn’t expect his demon to grow attached to her.
Things are getting weird in Las Vegas. Someone isn’t happy about Harper and Nox’s relationship. They are trying their hardest to get rid of her.
As if that isn’t enough someone is trying to over through the current system and take control of all the demons in the US.
What did I liked about this book
I really like Harper. I liked how she can take care of herself. I like her wit. She’s really funny. I also liked that she didn’t give into Nox every whim and stood her ground.
I like Nox, he is hot as sin and very interesting.
I liked all the side characters, they are very entertaining and play a very important role to the story. They really add something to the story.

4 I really liked it stars
‘Burn’ is the first book of the ‘Dark in you’ series and also the first book that I read from this writer. I was in the mood for a paranormal story so when I saw the blurb of this book I was intrigued and I’m really happy that I read it because it was really good! I’m looking forward to the next book in this series that will come out later this year.
Demons exist and they live among us (humans) but we don’t know it. Or at least, this is so in this book and in this world. Harper Wallis is a demon, in the ‘normal’ world she has a tattoo shop in Las Vegas. Most demons are part of a lair (but not all of them are part of one). Harper’s little lair is located in North Las Vegas. Her grandmother is the prime of that lair. Although Harper’s lair/family is known in the demon world for being a little bit crazy, Harper lives a quiet, peaceful life. She dates human men (and not demon men) and has fun with her cousins and friends. Then one night, Harper finds unexpectedly her ‘anchor’ or her psychic mate, on a night out. Although most demons would be happy with finding their anchor, because your anchor makes it easier to control your inner demon, Harper isn’t that happy about it. But then who would be happy when you discover that your anchor is the most dangerous demon in the demon world?!
Knox Thorne isn’t only famous in the demon world as the prime of the Las Vegas lair and being a very dangerous man/demon but he’s also very known in the human world for being a successful businessman. Nobody knows what kind of demon breed Knox is but everyone can feel that his demon is very powerful and dangerous. Handsome, sexy Knox is also known for being a player because although his demon can be very obsessive with his desire for a woman, it’s also a fact that his demon gets easily bored with her too. So all of this things makes Harper not a happy woman when she discovers who her anchor is. But Knox is determined that Harper will accept the psychic bond and that they will become each other anchor. And Knox is someone who is used that everyone listen to him and do like he says. So Knox and his demon are really surprised when they discover that Harper doesn’t obey them in anything but Knox and his demon like this. Because let’s be honest, life can be become very dull if everyone just do what you tell them to do. So Knox and his demon find Harper very refreshing with her attitude and her crazy way of thinking. She’s the only one who can surprise them both. And the more Harper and Knox get to know each other the more Knox know that his demon will never get bored of this woman. So Knox is more than ever convinced that they are meant to be together. And Know always gets what he wants. So now starts a game between Knox and Harper but they aren’t the only ones who are playing games. There is danger, someone wants them dead. But who? Knox will do everything he can to protect Harper even if it means that he must set his very dangerous demon free. Something that may scare Harper away for good!
This was really a fantastic read, I really enjoy it. The demon world was a very interesting world with all the different kind demons living in it. Then you have the anchor connection and the question what kind of breed Knox’s demon is and who was after the attacks. I loved Knox and Harper’s demons, they had an own mind and personality. I loved the interaction between Harper and Knox, Harper who’s a free spirit and didn’t do what Knox told her to do and then you have dominant, sexy Knox, who is a treat on his own. Except Harper and Knox you also have Harper’s crazy family and friends and Knox’s sentinels who made this story fun too.
I will definitely read more books of Suzanne Wright.
I fell in love with Harper and Knox. They aren’t perfect, heroic, self-sacrificing characters. They’re both flawed individuals with some serious issues. They’re also incredibly fun to read! There’s plenty of action, lots of hot sex, and love and caring without being too sweet. Great read!
Suzanne Wright is a insta one-click author for me. Hell half the time I don’t even bother to read the blurb because I already know, no matter what the book is about it’ll be kickass. I’ve reread this book countless times and I know I’ll continue to.
If you want to read a book about a kickass heroine and the dangerous sexy alpha male she falls in love with, this is the book for you because it is blazing HOT!!
Loved this book! Love this series! LOVE THIS AUTHOR!
Sarcasm galore.. I laughed and laughed. Every. Single. Book!
