Sergeant Corbin ‘Syn’ Sydney had dedicated his life to becoming the best detective. So when he heard there was an opening on the notorious Atlanta Narcotics Task Force, he jumped at the chance. But, what he wasn’t ready for was realizing just how lonely he’d made himself, when he observed the loving and dedicated relationship between the two men he served under: Lieutenant Cashel ‘God’ Godfrey … and Lieutenant Leonidis Day.
Syn prepared himself to accept his lonely fate until he walked into a small pub and met the long-haired, tattooed bartender, Furious Barkley. Before Syn can even understand why, he’s overcome with feelings he barely recognizes: passion, yearning, craving. And if the dark, lustful gazes are anything to go by, Furious might be feeling the same things for him.
Just two thing needs to happen before Syn and Furi can give each other what’s been missing from their lives for so long… Syn needs to find the evidence that proves Furi’s innocence of murder, as well as protect him from a past that refuses to let go.
God, Day, Ronowski, and Johnson are still as entertaining as ever…
You’ll swoon over God’s massive take-charge attitude…
You’ll laugh hysterically at Day’s never-ending wit…
You’ll fall in love with Furious’ mysterious, sexy demeanor…
and…
You’ll embrace Syn…

I really liked this book but I didn’t really like that there were a few derogatory and misogynistic words/sayings throughout, that made me cringe a bit but was still a good story. Furious is exactly who Syn needs, he earns Syn’s trust very quickly so Syn is able to fully let go and give Furious complete control in the bedroom. The scene when Syn and Furious break into Day & God’s house in the middle of the night and found out about God & Day and Ro & Johnson had me giggling. I love how as soon as all Syn’s cop family here about Furious’s ex-husband being abusive and that he didn’t get the protection order, they offer to help if he can’t get hold of Syn for some strange reason and he’s in trouble, just call and they’ll be there as he’s now part of the family.
Love the series
I really enjoyed Embracing His Syn. I think it helps that I got to know the secondary characters in Nothing Special and they definitely play a major role in this book as well. I think (and I’m writing these reviews after having already binged 6 books!) that one of the things I enjoy most about this series is that Via doesn’t drop characters in and out. We get regular appearances and interaction which allows listeners to really feel immersed in the world she’s created. Which is precisely why it was so easy to binge.
Syn was the perfect balance of protective Alpha male, yet respective of Furi’s need to be in control of his life. There was also an interesting flip of Furi being the one to dominate & direct in the bedroom (or wherever!). There’s also a nice element of suspense as Furi is trying to escape an abusive and stalking ex. Via continues to give us a strong brotherhood between all the officers which is in turns serious and hilarious.
Aiden Snow’s narration continues to be excellent. Not only does he have a super sexy voice, but he gives all the characters distinct voices and keeps them consistent from the previous book.
4.5 stars
Heat Level: 4
Narration: 4.5
So good, thrilling and sexy!!!
I loved Syn. He’s powerful, passionate and so good and protective. He’s a great character! His connection with Furious sparks from the start and I loved the bi awakening and exploration! Furi and Syn’s dynamics are a surprise and so sexy, oh my!!!
The story is thrilling, a little twisted and wonderfully passionate. I loved the crime and drama. Syn is so protective of Furi and Furi’s ex is a piece of work.
God and Day are fantastic, I need to read their story now! Day and Syn’s banter and antagonism of each other is hilarious. I’m intrigued by the whole team and can’t wait for more of their awesome, dynamic and sexy stories!
Fantastic narration and I loved the different voices for each character. Aiden is fantastic! Highly recommended story and a really awesome listen!!!

This book was similar to the first in that there’s a bunch of different things happening. Even though Furi and Syn start quickly, we get to see their relationship/dynamic development, but with that we also get a couple of fights, murder mysteries and some nice sexy times. I like when authors go against stereotypical positions in bed with their characters. And seeing Furi and Syn come together was hot, especially with all the dirty talk.
Like in book one, there was a bit of overload on the macho fever but I think Furi helped break that up a little bit. There were a few lough out loud moments in this story that I appreciated, mostly with Day being Day and Syn being exasperated af by him. There was a lot of serious stuff going on, so I enjoyed getting a bit of humor here and there. I do wish we got to see the investigation play out more; I was interested in that storyline and hope it gets picked back up in the next book.
