Detectives Mark Ruxsberg and Chris Green are very good at their jobs. Being the enforcers for God and Day’s notorious Atlanta PD Narcotics Task Force causes the crazy duo to get into more trouble than they can often get out of. The pair never misses out on an opportunity to drive their Lieutenants crazy with their dangerous, reckless, and costly stunts, landing them in the hot seat in front … God… often.
Ruxs and Green love their jobs and they don’t mind the very demanding schedule that leaves them little time for socializing or dating. It was fine with them, they enjoyed hanging out with each other anyway.
However, most of the men in their close circle of friends and colleagues are pairing off and settling down. God has Day, Ro has Johnson, and their Sergeant Syn has Furious.
For the past several years, Ruxs has only sought out the advice and company of one person, his partner and best friend Green, and vice versa. Both of these alpha males are presumed straight, but neither can deny the heat that’s building in their once ‘just friends’ relationship.

First – this cover *fans self*
There’s a lot of witty banter and comradery in all the Nothing Special books, but Rux & Green take it to a whole new level. While there are some serious subjects tackled including an addicted family member, death of a close friend, and abuse of a child dear to the entire department – Via equally kept me laughing with investigations that always seem to go sideways and the lighter side of a new depth to their relationship.
I love how Rux & Green each have episodes of needing to lean on the other and their supportive friendship easily transforms into romantic relationship. Via gives us a chance to really enjoy their time as a couple and the biggest challenges come when they unexpectedly (to them, the rest of us saw it coming) become parents to Curtis.
There’s some other fun surprises I don’t want to spoil. Ultimately this is one I’ve found enjoyable to listen to more than once. It’s hard not to look forward to Michaels’ story in Don’t Judge.
Aiden Snow continues to give a fantastic performance. Even with new characters being added, he gives them consistent voices/accents throughout and it makes it incredibly easy to binge this series.
This is an action packed series and this entry does not disappoint. We have another couple getting together who are members of God and Day’s task force and we have some action with chases, destruction and flying bullets. There’s also family issues and a new couple on the horizon.
Green and Ruxs are the MCs in this book and a significant part of the book is related to Ruxs’ issues with his mother. You really just want to reach into the pages and throat punch the woman! The issues with his mother finally lead to the breaking point for Ruxs in his relationship with his partner Green. It’s a heartbreaking yet poignant moment.
Green is so wonderfully protective and loving and caring…just what Ruxs needs in his life. We get to see these same characteristics when it comes to Curtis, the teen that we have met in previous books.
The crime stories take a bit of a back seat here as it is much more character driven which was fine as this is such a touching story. Really enjoyed it and am ready to move right on to book four.

A hot and wonderful GFY adventure!
This is a fantastic best friend to lovers/Gay for you tale with a little fatherhood thrown in that will tug on your heartstrings.
I’m loving this series and Ruxs and Green are hot, muscled, enforcers who are best friends. I love God and Day’s crew and learning more about them and what they do is always fun and a great adventure. This story follows Green and Ruxs and their lives outside the crew and as best friends. The mixed POV adds depth to the story and reveals their feelings for each other before they are able to face them. I found the feelings presented (especially Ruxs’) came across very authentic and I enjoyed the exploration.
I love gay for you stories and this one is one of the hottest, most organic one I’ve read. Curtius is also a wonderful character and I loved his POVs and his crush/relationship with God’s brother Genisis. (I can’t wait for their story) Curtius’ story adds great depth and will tug on your heartstrings. I enjoyed the familial bond Green, Ruxs and Curtius have and love the family they are able to create.
Fantastic story, great characters, exceptional narration. I loved it!!

I just loved Ruxs’ and Green’s chemistry! It was obvious early on that they were best friends and cared a lot about each other. This was probably my favorite book so far of the series. Everything flowed really smoothly and the pacing of the story worked well. Even though Ruxs and Green were a bit macho when we first encountered them, it was not much of an overload, which I appreciated. Just like the other books, the sex between these guys was crazy hot and the dirty talk was present again.
I loved the storyline with Curtis and how much Ruxs and Green were there for him. He showed just how sweet they were and I liked getting to see where Curtis ended up after meeting him in book one – even though we only encountered him briefly, his story struck me and it was nice to see how far he had come. Though it threw me off at first, I liked getting Curtis’ POV for that short time at the end of the book and seeing his potential love interest. I am hoping more of that unfolds in future books.
