This book is raw and emotional. It makes you feel. Anger, sadness, grief. But as much as it hurts, this book it awesome. The storyline makes you connect with the characters. Feel for then, cheer for them and love them. Graham and Kennedy’s story isn’t for the feint of heart. It is tough but beautiful.
This is going to be a short review not because I didn’t love it but because I am obsessed with this angsty world and I need to start book 2 more than I need my next breath.
This is a high school romance and the characters behave in the manner so with that in mind it’s all angst and hormones along with actions without thoroughly thinking of consequences because that’s what those years are.
I adored the characters even when they were at their worst you knew that the real them was below the surface hidden behind a glamour of what they made people believe them to be as opposed to who they really were.
I’m starting book 2 now!!
When I started this book I didn’t quite know where it was going to lead me. I just knew I had read the Glass Heart Academy books, and wanted to see what Iler’s backlist was like. I went in blind, and boy was I surprised at the angst, excitement, and heartache this one story would wrench out of me!!!
Kennedy sparked Graham’s interest from the moment they met. However, since they didn’t hang in the same circles nothing ever goes beyond that first moment until tragedy strikes that involves the two of them. The secret that is kept follows these two, and end up tying these two together in a way that forces them into each other’s proximity.
Be prepared for this story to rip you apart, and slowly piece you together through the rest of the books. It was the perfect read for me when I started the series because I was looking for something that would break me apart to put me together.
I’ve always said you could never pay me enough to go back to high school and relive those days, but if I could go back as Kennedy I damn sure would!!
Iler’s debut storytelling has everything I NEED, angst, heartbreak, turmoil, and jaw dropping cliffhangers. This book had so many feelings I am still reeling but also desperate to start the next one.
Graham is perfectly flawed, the type of guy you root for and hold in your heart. Kennedy is such a warm, caring and wise beyond her years girl. I love both of these characters. Their story will stay with me long after I’ve read the last word. The secondary characters were well written, which always helps to forge a connection with them as well.
Iler is a one click author for me now. I’m off to devour all her other books!!
High school romances are definitely one of my favorites genre. I seem to forget that fact when I skip from one genre to another. The teen drama, the immaturity, the confusion, the love, the very firsts of every experience lure me in all the time, and When Our Worlds Collide has met each and every one of my cravings.
I loved Graham. Loved his honesty. Loved his protective nature. His a perfect mess in a perfect package…if that even means anything, hahaahhah.
Kennedy, beautiful, passionate, smart girl. I love everything about her except her lack of self-confidence. I was happy to see her character evolve with this book. The fact that she grows, is what makes this story even better.
Hopefully her strength will continue to prosper in the second book.
Can’t wait to dive in book 2!!!
Wow. Just wow. Lindsey’s characters draw you in. You cannot avoid growing feelings for them and then she crushes you. This book is filled with ups and downs, full on teenage angst. I felt the story line was crazy. Graham is a bad boy. Kennedy is a quiet, good girl. Their chemistry is overwhelming. The development of their relationship and the characters that interfere was done well. Without spoiling the book, the end gutted me. My heart broke for Kennedy and also for Graham. I cannot wait to read the next book.
This book is haunting and amazing!
Graham is a type of guy that I really don’t like…and he’s only in high school. Kennedy, however, would probably be a type of girl that I would have befriended in school. She has a heart of gold and is so selfless with the gift she gives to Graham, who doesn’t deserve it. He sees her goodness and it sucks him in. I like the idea of finding someone who makes you a better person. Parts of this book were really tough to read, but I needed to know how this story ended.
This is my second book from this author aand boy it doesn’t disappoint i one clicked all the others in the series after i finished this one. Graham and Kennedy make you shake you head at times but there story is so worth it. You’ll want to have book two ready for when you finish this one.
This is the first book that I have read by Lindsey Iler. I could not put it down and read it in one night. It will give you all the feels & it is definitely a page turner. I can’t wait to read the next one, I need to find out what happens. I definitely recommend reading this.
I don’t think I’ve ever disliked a character as much as I disliked Graham. He is one selfish jerk. Everything was always about him. Take the ending. He leaves her when she needed him the most. What the?!?! I get he thinks it’s his fault but to just up and leave? I just want to throat punch him.
5 HEARTFELT STARS!! I had a couple of book buddies told me to read this book and series and I am so glad they did. This book was tough and will hit all your emotion buttons and keep you turning pages. Graham and Kennedy are high school student and this is their first love and it is rough, but so worth the read. I can’t wait to read the next book. This author does a phenomenal job with tough issues and weaves a beautiful story.
I enjoyed this book. Its one of the first books I’ve read in a long time that was about highschool students, over 400pgs and left hanging at the very end. With that being said, I felt the book had a slow take off until both Kennedy and Grahams worlds collide with each other. Then it took off and was hard to put down. It was interesting how much of a positive influence Kennedy had on Graham. She made him see things from a much different perspective. In the same token Graham helped Kennedy open up. Both were able to understand where the other was coming from. This book made me want to slap the crap out of Graham and his cocky attitude at times but by reading the book you can understand that his attitude is his way of protecting himself. Kennedy endures things that no one deserves to experience, especially a young woman. This book also made me cry hard core and left me wanting to know how Kennedy and Graham’s story will play out if it will at all. This book is worth the 400 pgs and the cliffhanger it ends on. I can’t wait to read When Our Worlds Fall Apart & When Our Worlds Stand Still.
Kennedy Conrad was the new “freshman” girl two years ago when she first meets the high school baseball star, Graham Black, but she knows he will never remember her. Two years later she is finally noticed by Graham after she dances at school and he is blown away by her performance.
Graham Black is the all star high school baseball player who gets by on his parents money and giving his school the baseball championship they are after. He is known for getting around with all of the girls, especially Amanda.
One night Kennedy and Graham’s lives are drastically changed when a mistake is made and now both of them are having to live with their decisions and how everything has impacted them. When they each see a different side of the other they begin to trust each other and soon Graham lets Kennedy in on his darkest secrets.
But when Graham discovers Kennedy’s betrayal will he push her away and will he be able to live with the consequences and events that follow?
I really enjoyed this book and the twists that I was not expecting or the dark path that the book began to take with trying to deal with your own emotions.
I really liked Kennedy and how she tried to hide in the crowd and hated being the center of attention. I definitely gave her credit for stepping out of her comfort zone and dancing. I was so heartbroken for what happened next and I can’t believe the decision that she made. I did understand why but she did something so unselfish that I was blown away.
Graham was like a coin – one side good and one side not. He had built up this larger than life persona to hide everything that he was sleeping with anyone who would open up their legs and he had no morals or cares. Kennedy brought out a different side of Graham and it allowed the curtain to fall and he was able to feel safe and not judged. Yet there was still another side of him that was fighting this due to the guilt he had over what had happened.
The relationship between Kennedy and Graham was very “high-school” and I liked that it fit into what I would expect with the ups and downs that they went through. Then you would have the “villain” Amanda come in and cause trouble every moment she could.
I did understand why Amanda betrayed Graham’s trust and I knew he would overreact but I had no idea about the stuff that would come after and how my heart would just shatter for Kennedy. I was so mad at Graham at the end and I know that he is really hurting too and blames himself for everything and will not acceptance the forgiveness of Kennedy.
Looking forward to the next book!
OMFG!!! SPEECHLESS!!! JUST UTTERLY SPEECHLESS!! Lindsey Iler is a First time AUTHOR for me and She Had Me Melting over Graham!!! When Our Worlds Collide…. it is such a Beautiful Whirlwind of a Raw Emotional Rollercoaster Ride that you just Cannot get off of!! I could not put it down and Instantly wanna know what is going to happen next!! Kennedy and Graham story literally slammed you in the face and never let’s go from the Very beginning! When certain things happen in their Lives, they did not even Realized that they are opposites but seem to be drawn to Each other like a Moth To A Flame.
At times, I wanted to throw my Tablet across the room and Yell at the characters themselves! I even cried as felt like I was literally beside Kennedy and Graham as they were going through the motions of their turmoil with themselves. Kennedy Being the “New Girl” in school in another state and Graham being the “All-American” baseball athlete of all time.
I will not be giving out any Spoilers but there is a Mother of a Cliffhanger at the end of this Epically Beautifully written book and it has All the Feels you can ask for & then Some! This is a Must READ BOOK and Definitely going to be Reading more of her Books….Especially want more of Graham and Kennedy!!!

I’m not sure that I can do a rundown of this book without giving stuff away. Kennedy is new in town and pretty much hates it. She has one good friend, thank goodness. She flies under the radar until she has a run in with the golden boy of their high school, Graham Black. Then her performance at the school talent show really gets people’s attention. Then a horrible accident one night changes both their lives. Even though he is the big man on campus, Graham is hollow inside. He didn’t realize it very much until he met Kennedy. Forging a relationship, things spiral out of control and neither of them will be the same.
I have to say up front, I usually avoid cliffhanger books. I find them to be borderline cruel as they usually end at the worst possible time and there isn’t a happy ending. I read romance for the happy ever after and delayed gratification is not my jam. But I am a sucker for bad guy falls for the good girl so I picked up When Our Worlds Collide and dove in blindly. There are some tough issues that Graham and Kennedy go through especially for kids in high school. The ending caught me by surprise and I was bawling. If you are gonna do a cliffhanger, Linsey Iler is the author to imitate. I thought the indecision and back and forth that the characters go through was very reminiscent of high school. The two of them become close and to see that connection grow really was the highlight of the book. I felt very close to both characters and really hope that things end well for them. I am going to read the other two books in the series but I probably will wait a bit cause my heart can’t take it.
