She’s terrified of me. She should be.
I’m no saint, but apparently even killers have limits. When the Bratva hired me as security for the night, I didn’t know it was a flesh trade. I could have kept my cool, done my job, but then I saw her. Pure as a lily, dressed in skimpy lingerie, and being auctioned off to the foulest men in Brighton Beach.
I’m not used to this white knight sh*t, but I did … knight sh*t, but I did what I had to do. I outbid those pieces of trash and bought myself a bride.
What the hell do I do with a sweet, subservient woman who’s been trained to obey her husband? I can think of some things my baser instincts want me to do… But when she submits to me, I’m going to be the man that deserves it, not just the one she owes it to. So I’m going to make her life better. I’m going to make her want me just as bad as I want her.
And at night, when my new princess is slumbering, I’m going to make every one of those pimps pay in blood. I will protect her… and our unborn baby.
A full length Romantic Suspense novel. No Cliffhangers/Standalone. Safe.

I loved the unexpected tender feelings of the hitman. Alexis Abbott books are full of action, romance and some unexpected twists.
When Andrei buys a bride to save her from human traffickers he takes on more than he can chew. His bride was home schooled and didn’t know anything about the outside world because her parents kept her isolated. Not only did her dad owe the debts to the Russian mafia leading to selling her at the market. But her parents move to a different town and cut off contact with her.
It’s up to Andrei to educate her about the outside world and protect her from his enemies. Andrei lets her choose what she wants to do instead of being told what she has to do to please God.
Nicely done! Andrei is a complex enough character to really add some dimension to the story. He has a moral compass that shows up right from the beginning. It continues to lead him to all the light and goodness that Cassie exudes. I loved watching him completely give himself over to being a husband and father. Cassandra’s metamorphosis is a little too fast given her upbringing, but I understand where the author was taking her. There are plenty of ‘bad guys’ and lots of action and a sweet ending.
Awesome. Must read the series.
I fell in love with the characters..
I’ve never read any books by Alexis Abbot and I enjoyed seeing how Andrei and Cassie, although thrown together through circumstances gave their relationship a real chance. You see Cassie develop throughout the story from someone who was given no choices and then allowed to choose what she wants, from simple things such as clothing.
We learn that Andrei is a hitman for a very powerful man, although after his last hit and seeing that the man he was meant to kill was innocent, he developed a conscience.
Cassie has been home schooled her entire life and lives in an extremely religious family. Now that her home schooling is finished she is due to marry. They have a very close knit community where everyone believes in the same ideals, leaving Cassie having lived a very sheltered life. After having to oversee an event of his bosses, Andrei finds out it’s an auction bidding on women and finds himself seeing a beautiful innocent woman, knowing what could happen to her and despite glares from his employer he ends he’s night owning the woman who is to become his bride.
Cassie and Andrei have some amazing chemistry, but Andrei is feeling guilty about what Cassie will do when she finds out that he is a hitman at night while she sleeps, and Cassie wonders where her husband disappears to at night sometimes, but isn’t quite ready to find out.
Cassie also learns that sex isn’t the forbidden fruit that she was lead to believe and enjoys the boldness she finds in giving her husband pleasure like he has been giving her.
After realizing that Cassie’s life is at risk, he lets her know what he’s job is, and that they are in danger, quickly moving her away to a safe house, or so he thought, so he can finally end the crime lord ruling over everyone.
Love all the books in this series… Don’t want to ever put them down
I want to start out by saying if I was sold, I would really, really want Andrei to buy me. With that being said, I always love Alexis Abbott’s male characters and Andrei is no exception. I love that he is gentle and a protective alpha male. Something so refreshing about a man that is a manly man but can be thoughtful too…instead of being the stereotypical man with no morals. Cassie was sweet and adorable…the light for him, but she still was not a push over. I loved the storyline from beginning to end. And their personal story was sweet & spicy, a really great love story. Great book all around. If you like the sweet bad boy…then this is the book for you.
I really liked this book, even more than the first one (“Owned by the Hitman”). The naivete of Cassie was just so funny in places. Her hitman had infinite patience with her, which was nice to read. I will probably read more of the series at some point as I enjoyed the first two a lot.
Sold To The Hitman, by Alexis Abbott, is the second book in The Hitman Series. I really enjoyed this book! It took me less than three days to read and I couldn’t put it down! In this one, Andrei, a hitman, finds himself immediately attracted to Cassie, an inexperienced, sheltered young woman he decides he must save, by buying her, from a slave auction. Each of their worlds is turned upside down, but they manage to find love. Though this book contains much of the action and steaminess of the other Hitman books, I found it to be less gritty. It does deal with some difficult subjects, such as human trafficking, but it’s also sweet and very romantic, so it’s a great one to start with to ease into the series if you haven’t read too much mafia romance. The author has said she loves making readers fall in love with the bad guy, and this story definitely does the trick. The romantic in me loved Andrei and Cassie and wanted to see their love grow. If you like steamy sexiness in your books, this one won’t disappoint!
Great read and great series. Can’t wait to finish the rest of the series
Repetitive
I was disappointed the story ended at 50%. The rest is introductions to several other books. That should be disclosed to the reader before purchase. It feels like a scam
