Spinster Miss Eleanor Lockhart is suddenly homeless and employment is her only option. Ruined after succumbing to a scoundrel’s excessive charm nearly a decade ago, she’s lucky to obtain a position as a paid companion and committed to behaving with the utmost propriety. She definitely shouldn’t be in the arms of a man capable of utterly destroying what little remains of her reputation…
Titus … reputation…
Titus St. John, Duke of Kendal, is known as the Forbidden Duke, a mysterious, intimidating figure who enters Society just once each year at his stepmother’s ball. A decade ago, he was a devil-may-care rake until his idle roguery brought about the ruin of Eleanor Lockhart—and his resulting self-imposed isolation. Now she’s back, and she needs his help. But by “saving” her, he may just ruin her life all over again.

This book was great! It’s a nice, low-angst romance read that still manages to keep you invested in the characters and what will happen to them. Semi-steamy, with a great HEA ending — I’ll definitely read more by this author!
The first in the Untouchables series. Starts off with a bang and sets the stage for what is sure to be great things to come.
This is a new author for me and I enjoyed her story very much…ordered 3more…Not overly with romance…bu lots of events that you can relate to
Darcy Burke never disappoints. I love her characters and I love to read serial books. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Good read.
Loved my first Darcy Burke book!
I have lots of books by Darcy Burke. I hope I don’t find the others as disappointing as this one. I could have overlooked some flaws; but when the chickie (already forgot the character’s name!) called an earl “Your Grace”, I just couldn’t let that one go. The heroine’s behavior the first time she made love with Titus just didn’t ring true. Also, the quick resolution of the hero’s past behavior (which I didn’t find all that bad) made the book rather uninteresting. I will give this author another shot, as I hate to waste money on the books I already bought.
I really liked the story, it was a nice easy read. Plus I loved watching the interaction of the duke with his step-mother. She was the only mother he ever knew and he treated her as such. It’s not often you get that in a story!
Titus and Nora are incredibly captivating characters, full of chemistry. I really did like them dispite their minor character flaws. Nora was a pretty amazing heroine minus the fact that after being ruined she threw caution to the wind quite easily and was entirely too trusting? That part just didn’t seem real to me because she is pretty vehement that she learned her lesson. Titus, for feeling guilty about his past behaviour he was certainly pretty easy to convince to misbehave. Other than that they were SO likeable! The story drew me in and flowed nicely, I couldn’t put it down! I read it all in on go. 4.5 stars.
Conscience and forgiveness are wonderful traits in all humans when we practice them. Lovely story, both the heroine and hero are strong characters and meant for each other.
Get book! Thanks to Erica Ridley for giving me this book. Have a great author to follow and lots of books I haven’t read yet. The story line was great. One mistake and her World was over. The characters were great. Love stories that right wrongs of the past. Can’t wait to read her other works.
I enjoyed all of this series
Darcy Burke is another author that write predictably good historical romance novels. I can pick up any of her books and enjoy the characters
I was very pleased with this book! The author was informative, easy to read, and presented a pleasant story even though it is a recipe series. The characters were inspiring. I am addicted to Darcy Burke.
As always loved your book thanks for the adventure can’t wait for the next book.
Entertaining,a good easy read
This is a short book with a light plot that does not require a lot of thinking, Just what I needed after reading several very heavy books. The characters were interesting and mostly their actions were in keeping with their pasts. I especially liked the Duke’s mother – a secondary character with a level head and a good heart..
