Elle is witness to a Mafia murder by a boss, an underboss, and another made man. They only find out later after seeing the tapes of the alley where it took place, that she was present and are not sure what she saw or heard, but they have a mob law against killing kids and she is still only seventeen.
So the Boss gives his son Nero the job of finding out what Elle knows before her eighteenth birthday and if he does a good job, he will be a “Made” man. Nero is basically the king of Legacy Prep, the high school where both he and Elle go to School. He has slept with almost every willing female in the school and. Everyone loves him.
Elle and her friend Chloe are bullied and tormented on a daily basis. Elle is a scholarship student who works at a diner for the rest of her tuition because she doesn’t want to leave Chloe to fend for herself. When Nero starts paying attention to Elle, he and his friends begin to see the kind of bullying the girls have been subjected to and help them deal with it. The story is good on many levels, especially the conflicts that develop because everything is based on a lie and Nero can’t help but develop feelings for Elle.
Every book in the Made Men series is a five star in my opinion. I love these books and characters so much, I have the series in both eBook and paperback. Absolutely love these books!
I absolutely LOVE this book! The plot is so enthralling and captivating. The characters are easy to relate to. And the steam…. wow!
Ok, you gotta weed through a terrible beginning to this story to get to the good stuff. I was actually on the verge of quitting until I read a few reviews that mentioned the longer they read it, the more they got hooked. So I kept on and I got just as hooked.
What made the beginning of the book so bad in my opinion, was Nero. I honestly thought he was a douche and I had no interest in him as the male lead. I can honestly say my opinion took a complete 180.
I don’t remember how far into the book, but it was when he made the decision that he would not see any other girls behind Elle’s back and he became the type of hero I actually really love and are rare to find.
There is a reason he got close to her in the beginning and it wasn’t because he wanted to date her. It’s also my opinion that he never cheated on her. So he gets a pass for the bad behavior in the start.
Elle was a bit too self sacrificing. I liked her, but come on, no one would take the hits that she did and never say a word. It’s quite disgusting what some of these high schoolers did to her and it made my blood boil. I’m just not a fan of bully behavior.
I ended up liking Nero so much by the end of the book that I am very curious if any of the other male leads in the series will turn out as good as he did. I’m also interested in seeing Chloe heal.
I always love reading Mafia romance stories but this is my first Mafia romance book series that I am reading. I used to (and currently am) read these types of stories on Episode (an app where you read stories) like the Chain Reaction Series, and the Blake trilogy.
The Made Men Series has been mentioned a lot as one of the best Mafia romance book series so I decided to give it a go. And I quite enjoyed it. We follow our main character Elle and trying to survive with her best friend Chloe in their senior year of high school and then a turn of events gets into place!!!!! That’s all you need to know, so grab it.
The romance was at times sweet and funny but I would not say it was my favorite, but I really enjoyed reading Nero (the love interest) and his relationship with Elle. I also enjoyed the side characters too and hope to get their books soon!!!! I am even more excited to get Chloe’s story because it intrigued me the most and am curious to get more of her backstory!!!!!
I gave this book a 3.5 stars. It is a solid read to an interesting series and am excited to continue on with it!!!
I’ve had this book on my to be read list for years and while I was always reading the blurb and considering it, I’d move on to something else. I. Am. An. Idiot! With so many recommendations for it, I should have listened and read this long ago so I could have reread it so many more times afterwards. Lesson learned.
Elle’s high school life has been a nightmare. But after seeing something she should not have, she finds Nero suddenly talking to her, eating with her, and holding her hand. As she learns to trust him, she finds her heart very much involved. And then she finds it shattered.
I couldn’t fathom how terrible life was for Elle, until it was slowly revealed. She was a fierce heroine, completely loyal to her friend, Chloe, and a keeper of secrets. I’ve never read another female character with the determination to do things her way. The fact that she did so opened this story up for some amazing reactions from Nero.
It’s no secret I’m all about a jealous, possessive hero and Nero was all that and so much more. I loved pretty much everything about him. While he was not instantly in love with Elle, the fact that it took getting to know her was perfect. It wasn’t about her looks, it was about her as a person. And man, once he started to fall, he fell hard.
”I don’t like you pouring coffee and serving food to all these f—-ng men. The only coffee I want you pouring is mine.”
There were some incredible scenes where he is pure protection regarding her as well as justice on her behalf. Nero was scary good.
Of course, there is a lot of suspended belief in this story, considering they are in high school and things take place that would never happen on such a regular basis…at least not at the school I work. But if you’re okay with that, this one is going to totally suck you in and keep you held captive until the very end.
I’m shocked 5 stars
“You need to stop questioning me. I’m the one with the dick, and the sooner you realize that the easier this will be. Trust me, baby, you’ll start to like it that way.”
I’ll wait for Maria’s book and I was surprised that I haven’t even reviewed this series yet
For me, it’s as good as it is Eagle Elite Series by Rachel Van Dyken
The best of the best Mafia series what you read over and over or listen to audio
Yes it’s a dark enough book with lots of violence
Storyline is super good you will enjoy this book from start to finish
And the characters you just start loving them
A series you don’t want to ever end!
If you haven’t read it yet, read on and you won’t regret it!!!
Thank you!
