First off l don’t normally really like reading about Vampire stories, but Ken Preston to me almost makes them like secondary characters which I know they aren’t but I don’t really are about all but one of them, the rest of them want dead and to stay dead.
You HAVE to read Season 1 before you read Season 2 or you will miss so much and it will make things that happen in Season 2 make more sense. At the end of Season 1 we are introduced to two new characters which will play some big parts in Season 2. There are more new characters in Season 2. Most of them don’t believe in vampires, so most of them end up dead.
Since I LOVED Season 1, I am not sure what. Word to use for Season 2, because it is even BETTER than Season 1.
We learn more about Joe Coffin and even if the cops think he is a thug or killer, to me he is consistently trying to do the right thing, even if he does have to kill a vampire. Same thing with Emma the reporter, she can’t bring herself to turn Joe over to the cops, even though she dates one. A good bit of the time she is at the wrong place at the wrong time, mainly because she is trying to get a story or even a novel, but she is seen with Joe and others and her boss Karl asks what is going on? She said she will tell him when she gets it all together. I think that at several times in Season 2 she is in shock and can’t figure out the right thing to do. If she turns Joe over to the cops the vampires are going to keep multiplying and more innocent people will be killed for their blood.
Joe has no problem trying to kill all the vampires including his wife, but he is hopeful that he can find his four year old son and see if there is something he can do to change him back to his little boy and not a vampire.
Emma does sneak into the hospital after visiting hours are over to check on Nick, her boyfriend, He is either in a coma or heavely sedated to deal with the pain of being ripped up by Joe’s son Michael. She tells him somethings that I think she would have liked to tell him in person when he was awake. We don’t know if he could really hear her or not.
When the Slaughterhouse Mon Nd another group agree to get together with Mortimer Craggs at one of the othe groups club, they try to come up with a plan to kill all the vampires at Mort’s club, but Emma tries to tell them that this plan won’t work but they pay no attention to her. Joe tells her just to stay here so she won’t get hurt and they lock her in the cellar to try and keep her safe.
Joe ends up getting hurt again on the same shoulder that he got hurt in Season 1 and he gets even more hurt. And so does Emma after she gets out of the cellar. I am not going to give anymore information away, I am always afraid I will give away a spoiler. I am not a writer, so I try to be careful in how much I say. I am really pulling for Joe and Emma to make it through all of the seasons and hope that she and Nick can find a way to get back together. This is a MUST READ and I still think that they can be turned into a series like on Netflix, Amazon Pime or any othe thing that does these kind of series for TV, but they would really have to do it justice. But what I really think is that it could, even after only reading 2 Seasons, I am expecting that the rest of the Season will continue to get better and this would make an awesome Motion Picture. Maybe have them come out around Halloween, but Ken Preston would have to be involved as a screenwriter so it would be handled right. I think it would put all the Friday 13th, Halloween, Chainsaw Massacre and any more of these type movies, which I don’t watch but am told they really don’t have a plot and these do, I believe it would put all the remakes to shame. The scariest movie I ever watched was the Shining and it didn’t have a lot of blood or gore. But this could be even scarier. I would go watch it, but reading about it and seeing it are two different things, so I would probably have to have my eyes closed for some of the scenes. But if they turn them into series shows or motion picture they need to make them as close to great as the way Ken Preston wrote them. If I could give more than 5 stars I would on this one. Hope to start Season 3 soon but with all my health problems, all auto-immure I have been known to sleep from 10-18 hours and wake up just as tired as I did when I went to sleep with my legal medicines that I probably take over 30 a day. I haven’t counted lately, my husband puts them into morning and evening doses once a week. I have other books I need to read but I can’t be rushed. I have to read at my own pace especially with my Sjogren’s Syndrome with Central Nervous System Involvement, which means I fall down a lot and have a form of dementia that they won’t be able to diagnose until I am dead and they do an autopsy. I have at least 10 auto-immure diseases of which none are curable. I am now on SSD making less than half what I made in my previous job and I have to pay for all my insurance now. I was so happy after being out of work three years that the finally got the medication right so I could do my favorite thing read again. Before if a character was mentioned in one of the first few chapters and then not mentioned again until chapters 15-17, I would have to go back and see who this character was and how they related to the story, so it took all of the fun out of reading. I have only been able to read since this past November, but I still need to do my review as soon as possible. Because of my tight budget if I see a book that is free that looks interesting, I have to go ahead and get them and some $0.99 books or maybe a few $1.99 or $2.99 but I can’t really afford to go much higher and that is a huge thing for me, but a couple of good things came out of it. I had never heard of Indie authors or lots of the genres that are out there. I was reall happy to find Ken Preston and lots of authors I had never heard of before. I will have to say the Joe Coffin seasons have been the best but I have read lots of new authors and when I read you I will write a review. It just may not be as fast as you would like. I will continue to try new authors and genres of things that sound good. But I still have to saw to Ken Preston thank you for such AWESOME books that got me to move out of my comfort zone.
