Henry Bins is only awake one hour a day.
Can you imagine only being awake for one hour each day? Can you imagine having to cram your entire existence into 60 measly minutes? (Two minutes to shower. Three minutes to eat. Five minutes to watch TV.) And in that 3600 seconds you have awake, imagine that you have to figure out:
– Who murdered the woman across the … out:
– Who murdered the woman across the street? (You suspect it was the President of the United States, but can you prove it?)
– Why your mom abandoned you when you were six years old? (Was it because she worked for the CIA? Or was it because of your condition?)
– What caused your strange condition where you wake up at exactly 3:00 a.m. then fall asleep exactly an hour later, then sleep for twenty-three hours? (Were you experimented on? If so, by who?)
– And most importantly, what is Project Sandman?
Welcome to Henry Bins’s life.
The 3:00 a.m. series is so fast, so fun, and so unlike anything you’ve ever read, you won’t know what hit you.
Praise for the 3:00 a.m. series

My father always says, “nothing good happens after 2:00 a.m.”. Usually this was when we were arguing about my curfew, but regardless, in this series of books, the main character will prove this is essentially true. Henry Bins has a disorder where he is only awake for 1 hour each day. He wakes up automatically at 3:00 a.m. and falls back into a coma-like sleep approximately one hour later. Despite his handicap, Henry has a scheduled but satisfying life. Until he gets involved in a murder investigation that becomes the catalyst for searching out a reason for his sleep disorder. Where it leads will have him second guessing everything he thought he knew…
It’s not often you find a book, much less a series, with a completely original premise and Nick Pirog continues to amaze me with his ability to do this in both his 3 a.m. and his Maddy Young series. This, coupled with his obvious talent, makes for some seriously enjoyable reading. You can usually find the first book for free on Amazon.
I LOVED this series! Henry Bins has a medical condition so rare it’s named after him. He’s awake only 1 hour in every 24 and solves crimes with his cat Lassie. This is a fun, smart series, I highly recommend it!
Love all the human characters plus the cats and dog. Can’t wait to read the next installment.
Might not appeal to all readers but I loved the series. Unusual and while not always realistic it was fun.
Thoroughly enjoyed this series. Original concept, kept me guessing all the wAy through.
Loved the book because it was so different from most suspense books.
One of my most favorite books EVER. The premise is absolutely the most unusual and unique one I’ve ever encountered. This book and all it’s sequels are my favorite re-reading material! Nick Pirog is keeping me from jumping out a window over intense quarantine boredom…. whether that’s a good thing or not, I’ll leave to my husband to decide heheheh
Meanwhile, NICK!!! I’m hoping you’re using your stay at home time to bring us the next Henry Bins book and while you’re at it, wake up Thomas Prescott and get him a new situation to be in lol I NEED MORE NICK PIROG BOOKS TO SURVIVE!! But seriously Nick I’m not getting any younger here ya know? I’m way past the “halfway there” mark, so get cracking ok? Love & biscuits to the dogs
One of the best Short Stories I ever read. Delightful read!
This was so well written and the plot was so different from other books. Henry Bins is only awake for 1 hour each day and he must fit as much as possible into it. Then he hears a scream, now he must use that one hour each day to solve the crime. I am excited to read other books in this series, this one was hard to put down!
The whole series is great. Must read them all and in order! Terrific author! Need to read every things he’s written!
I REALLY enjoyed this short story. Very unusual story. There’s a lot of humour and twists that keep you reading. FUN!
