Living a life in darkness causes the soul to char to ash. Battling demons by turning himself into a monster is the only way he can survive…the only way he can keep a grip on sanity. That grip is precarious at best, every day is a silent battle with demons that threaten to yank him into the truest form of darkness, the abyss he’ll never escape. Then it happens. Light shines through the cracks.… cracks.
Happiness. Mia Spencer’s life is full of it. She has an amazing new job, friends, family, and the light of her life – her daughter Lexie. Running from the demons of the past, escaping a hell that she vowed Lexie would never know about, she worked through hardship and near poverty to create something she was proud of. Buried deep inside, underneath the swell of love she had for her only daughter, were the fractured pieces of her. Pieces that were smashed and battered when she was young and vulnerable.
Then she meets Bull, who seems to hate her on sight. He screams danger, from his huge physique, to his beautiful ink, to the motorcycle club he belongs to. He is silent, his glares threaten to burn her into flames, yet she finds herself falling for him. Finds this broken man slowly fixing the pieces she thought would stay shattered forever.
*Can be read as a standalone

This is an amazing MC series by Anne Malcom. This is the third book in the series, but they’re all so good. Sometimes the MC books are either too graphic for me, or they just don’t hold my interest, I can honestly say that this series kept me turning the pages long after I should’ve been sleeping!
WHY HAVE I ONLY JUST DISCOVERED THIS AUTHOR?
And she can write! Not just churn out a gritty, tortured biker story…..but write a book that is just so fantastically written with the most amazing characters and the words make you feel the story.
Now onto gush number 2….Zane. Good God above I have read some great MC men but I think Zane tops the list!
Of course Zane isn’t the only character in this story…it also involves Mia and her daughter Lexie, who are just the best mother/daughter combo ever!
Now a little bird has told me that Lexie is getting her own book and I cannot wait to get my hands on it!
I LOVE BULL
I knew this man had heavy story, but I wasn’t as prepared for the emotions that he brought out. I can’t imagine falling for s character in a book more than this man. BRAVO BRAVO for making this series better and better.
After multiple reads of this book, I am going to try to do it justice with my review… Yes, it’s that good!!!
I love Bull and Mia’s story. A beautiful, heart wrenching journey of two beautiful people. Every emotion is hit on this wonderful rollercoaster ride. The balance is PERFECT. The character development is so wonderful to watch.
I definitely recommend this wonderful book!!!!
It’s getting absolutely ridiculous at how Anne Malcom’s words continue to slay me. My whole mind is blank right now. There are no words to explain the excruciating pleasure I got from reading Bull’s story. My heart hurt so much for him. Bull is officially my favourite ever hero of Anne’s. Nobody compares to him. His filthy mouth is dirtier than you can ever imagine. His intensity will absolutely burn you from the inside out. He is a sweet combination of rough and gentle that will have you melting into a puddle at his feet. His hard exterior is hard to love at times, hard to break through, but once done, you will find that it contains the softest heart that wants to love wholeheartedly. Bull and Mia, while they might be the most unlikely couple, they are absolutely perfect each other. Each running from their own darkness in search of sunshine.
Their beginning is not what you would have expected. Bull absolutely despises her & Mia can’t figure out why. But he despises her, because he calms the noise & silences the demons in his head. And it messes with him. While I absolutely love Zane, I absolutely hated him in the beginning. How he could keep messing with Mia like that, treating her like absolute rubbish and keep going back, is beyond me. But then again, that might say something about me because my love/hate relationship with him turned me on.
I started with Kill and Lexie’s story first, so that kinda spoiled a majority of Zane and Mia’s story for me but I fell in love with them every step of the way, nonetheless. I am extremely emotional right now, mostly because my heart is sighing in content knowing that Bull finally got his happily ever after. And because their journey was a rough one. I felt every single emotion, every single tear and every ounce of pleasure. These Sons of Templar men are ruining me for every other book boyfriend I had or may have. There is no going back and I don’t regret it. I am absolutely consumed by these books and Out of the Ashes just solidified even more. The writing and the execution of this story was excellent, every word on point, every phrase had its intended effect. My black heart and soul actually started beating again, reading this book. And this is why it’ll always be one of my favourites.
There are no words to describe how much I love this book. If you haven’t read this series yet, I highly recommend this! It’s an amazing read and contains a broody alpha biker & some serious humour.
5 Out of the Ashes Stars
After moving far away from the only family they have Mia and her daughter Lexie find a new life. I so enjoyed their mother-daughter relationship/banter. it entertained me thoroughly!
Mia is funny, caring and Strong heroine. I liked her very much and I felt she was one character that felt truly genuine. Zane has had a huge loss and has shut himself off from getting close to anyone. Until he meets Mia and she snaps something deep within him back on.. He starts to care, not only for Mia but for Lexie as well.
I really enjoyed this story and was hooked from the first chapter. I loved Anne’s secondary characters, as always I think this is what takes a book from good to great.
If you haven’t read this series yet, I’d highly recommend it.
Lexie and Killian’s story will be a must read for me when I get the time.
This is a huge book that had me completely enveloped into the characters and their lives. I’m seriously on book overload. The beginning and end were fantastic. Laugh out loud moments!!! Complete devastation and a ton of healing filled this book.
I highly recommend reading this series. No words.
It’s not often i will read a series this quickly but when i read the Blurb for Out of the Ashes I knew i had to dive into the books straight away a single mum, both MC had tortured pasts i knew this was going to be a great story.
I was not disappointed at all, i loved how we were introduced to Mia and Lexi straight away and i loved there Relationship they were not just mother and daughter but best friends as well and thier banter was the best i have read in a book they made me laugh and cry but they were running from something and this story line kept me turning the pages to find out .
Then there’s Bill who we had read about in the previous books so we knew his story but i just couldn’t wait for the two new girls put some light back in his life but of course this did not all go smoothly from the start to the very end.
I absolutely loved this story we got all the previous characters plus again just showing how this brotherhood of bikers were not just friends but family as well, it was good to see Mia’s relationships grow with the other girls and just loved reading these stories.
This book and this series just has it all the storyline’s, there was violence and kidnappings just an overall fantastic book, book by book I’m becoming a very big fan of Anne Malcom and her writing can’t wait to read lexis book
Out of the Ashes is one of my top 3 favorite books of all of Anne Malcom’s books (The Problem with Peace and Shield are the other two). I have re-read this book multiple times and still love it every single time! I love it so much that I even got it on audio and listened to it multiple times too. There are so many elements of this book that I loved but I think it was the heroine, Mia, that really impressed me. Even with her horrible past, she still showed such awe-inspiring strength, the love of life and I absolutely adored her relationship with her daughter, Lexie. Bull suffered a tremendous loss, and to witness the end of such a beautiful soul must have been excruciating. He is now an empty shell, fighting demons every day. And the only thing keeping him living is the brotherhood and family of the Sons of Templar MC. But he is only existing and living in darkness until one day he sees Mia and Lexie. Everytime he sees them or are in their presence, they seem to quiet his demons and gave him life again. Initially this made him so angry and was horrible to Mia to the point that she thought he despised her. Lexie on the other hand, he could not and with her help Mia and Bull/Zane’s story truly begins. The chemistry between Zane and Mia was off the charts scorching hot. In the beginning, I honestly did not like the way he treated her, especially because he was fighting this attraction so hard, but it was just too strong.
The angst in this story is high, from the past for both Bull and Mia and also in the present. Alot happens in their story, major hurdles were thrown in and it was intense. Tears were definitely shed, but what resulted was beautiful.
Completing a re-read and also re-listening to the audio, brought back all the reasons I loved about this book. Characters healing from past hurts and damaged souls, heroines with such amazing strength, and fabulous secondary characters new and old are major parts of Anne Malcom’s books, and in Out of the Ashes definitely has all that and it is fantastic!!
Wow! Where do I start? This book is the best yet in this series! I knew Bull’s story would be emotional but this was beyond that. It was heartbreaking, funny, angsty, dangerous and every other emotionally charged adjective you can think of.
Bull and Mia are so perfect together, add in Lexi and you have a family that will love to the moon and back. The chemistry between Bull and Mia is instantly off the charts hot and burns hotter the deeper into the story you get. Bull is so broken that you can’t help but want to grab ahold of him and just hug him back together, which Mia does and more. She makes him smile again, laugh again and most importantly love again. From out of ashes comes sunshine brighter than any sun or star!
Lexi and Killian story is bound to be just as hot, full of turmoil and angst!
I am loving this series, Anne Malcom keeps writting stories that suck me in and never wanting to leave, she has me hooked and wanting more. Out of Ashes is the story of Bull and Mia, which has plenty of angst, drama, witty banter and protective alpha bikers.
Mia is witty, full of life a single Mum and one strong determined woman.
Bull is protective, loyal and also haunted by past demons.
Mia and Bull have quite an electric connection. Mia and Lexie bring light into Bull’s dark life, they shatter his defences and work their way under his skin and into his life. While Bulls brings love, friends and family into theirs. After everything both Bull and Mia have been through in their past I was happy to see the strength they both had to keep pushing/surviving to fight to get the happiness they deserve.
Out of the Ashes is my all time favorite Anne Malcom book!
The raw guttural passion which had a ripple effect, crippling me, broke me and stole every fiber of my being! HOLY HELL!!!! Can I say Zane AKA BULL brought out emotions in me that is so embedding in me I don’t think those feelings will ever leave!!! Zane is everything!!!
** spoiler alert ** Another awesome book by Anne! The relationship between mother and daughter is awesome. There are part that literally make me laugh out loud. I think that Mia and Lexie were the best fits in Bulls life they were hysterical. I laughed out loud at some many parts in this book when there as dialogue between Mia and Bull and Mia and Lexie. I loved that were got to keep in touch with Anne’s previous characters and they were still fun as ever too. Bull and Mia were hot….the romance was steamy and it had a lot of ups and downs which were well written ….I couldn’t of picked a happier ending for Bull!!I loved how we got to see what was going on in Bull’s head in this book. You get t understand him and where he is coming from. Would totally recommend and can’t wait for the next one.
Bull is broken from what happened in his past. Mia has a broken past as well and is trying to raise her daughter alone. Mia tries to break through Bull’s troubled soul and find the man within.
Oh Bull…..he’s such a beautifully broken man. My heart hurt knowing he thought he could never be able to love again, or deserved to be loved. But when Mia & Lexie came into his life, everything changed. Absolutely enjoyed this story – best of the Sons of Templar so far!
This is my favourite book in this series and it seems that after what to me felt like a frenetic start to this series, Anne has found her rhythm with this story and series, and has laid solid foundations for more of the Sons of Templar and their MC family.
Mia our heroine is exactly that, she’s been a victim and though is hiding, she’s not fragile, this is a strong and protective lady, and her relationship with her daughter Lexie, is heart warming and comedic, so much so I got a distinctive Gilmore Girls buzz from it.
Our brooding, stoic, hulk of an Alpha, Bull, is the hard damaged nut these two are perfectly suited to crack and nurture, and the banter and building connection between the three is as beautiful as it is hilarious, and I just could not get enough of it or of Bull!
So looking forward to diving into more from Miss Malcom, she’s now on my one-click list!
I have read the entire Sons of Templar series and book 3 – Bull and Mia’s story is still my favourite
I absolutely loved the characters of Mia and her daughter Lexi. Their mother/daughter banter, humour was hilarious. And Bull. Well Bull is my book husband. I simply adore him.
This is not a standard, smooth love story but it is definitely a love story full of beautiful words, hot guys, beautiful girls and something a bit more. Highly recommend this book.
