Fun take on Sherlock Holmes
Hudson is portrayed as a believable sleuth in her own right.
I just love anything Sherlock.
I have always enjoyed Sherlock Holmes and am now enamored with Mrs. Hudson and Flottie. I love how they care for each other and solve the mystery.
WELL WRITTEN and with the authentic voice of a Sherlock Holmes mystery. (Not the original which I have read but with the flavor of all the PBS TV movie versions). The idea of Mrs. Hudson being as clever as Holmes but with a different milieu of contacts is clever. And very believable. She’s a great housekeeper and astute observer. The story of the existence of a testament written by Lazarus whom Jesus raised from the dead is intriguing in itself. Most of us are curious about the next life which may be more “real” than this one. And one can’t overlook Flotsam or “Flotty,” Mrs. Hudson’s young assistant, who has the uncanny knack of catching hints and clues. Both females compliment Holmes and Watson. This was a great read! I highly recommend it to Holmes devotees and anyone who enjoys a 19th century British mystery. YES!
Well-written historical mystery in the style of Sherlock Holmes. Can’t more enjoyable than that!
A mystery in the Sherlock/Watson tradition but Mrs. Hudson is the main character.
A really good and different take on Sherlock Holms.
Fun revisit of Sherlock Holmes
LOVE LOVE LOVE these books! Stories are slick and complex. You have to really think to figure the plots out. Characters seem so real. I feel like I actually know them. If you like well written and witty stories with real and lovable people then jump on this series!!!
I like anything that has to do with Sherlock and what makes this nice is that Mrs. Hudson and her ‘protege’ Flottie are knee deep ion the mystery and in solving it. I liked it so much I bought another Mrs. Hudson e book.
I’ve always liked Sherlock Holmes but it is a nice twist to add the feminine touches of Flotsam and Mrs. Hudson. While offering clues, the plot has enough twists and turns to keep one guessing until the end. Nice read.
Flotsam, an orphan girl taken in by Mrs. Hudson and Sherlock Holmes, narrates this convoluted tale. The government has learned that a text ascribed to Lazarus, whom Christ raised from the dead, has been located and will soon be exposed. The testament supposedly contains ideas so controversial that the Christian churches feel threatened. Sherlock Holmes is only a peripheral character in this charming mystery. Most of the investigating and discoveries are the result of Mrs. Hudson’s and Flottie’s hard work and intuition. The book tends to be a slow read because nothing is just mentioned in passing; everything is discussed in elaborate detail. Still, this is an enjoyable read.
It was fun. An original premise, something I’d never imagined. It held my interest throughout.
Enjoyed the interesting twist of Sherlock Holmes and Mrs Hudson. Love this series.
Well written in the gendre of Sherlock! Fun reading for Holme’s fans.
It is a great take off of the original Sherlock Holmes mysteries. Excellent.
