I read this book cover to cover. I couldn’t put it down.
The characters were ok. It was a easy sexy read. Quite predictable though. That’s why I gave it a three not a four. If you are looking for an easy read with some sexy bits this would be just right.
Great idea for a story. Something new that I haven’t read before. Loved the anonymity and concept of the Dark Room/Society X. The chemistry/sexy banter between Patrick and Mia was great. Must read..
I am not normally an erotica romance reader. The growing romance between Parker and Mia had me absorbing every detail.
Dark Room is a racy and naughty bit of fun. Society X is a vacation from the normal “club”. Almost like Spring Break! (smirks) Maybe a bit Girls Gone Wild!?
Dark Room isn’t all naughty though; it’s got a sweet story and a wonderful ending. It may start out scratching an itch but ends with dreams and a future.

(Dual POVs)
I really enjoyed this book. The plot is a tad unique; I’ve never read a similar book. The aspects of the dark room definitely add the allurement to the plot. I like how the characters already knew each other and bantered a little bit. I thought the way the characters figured out who they were sharing the dark room with was original. I had a few guesses, but the way the author did it was unpredictable and tasteful. The small added drama in the end, with the ex boyfriend was a little silly and the book still would’ve been great without it. I really appreciated that the book gives you a glimpse into the future with these two instead of ending abruptly after the conflict is resolved.
Favorite quotes:
“Hope the door hits ya where the good Lord split ya.” Her smart mouth is going to get the best of her someday. I bend down to whisper, “Oh sweet Mia, it warms my heart to hear you’re thinking about my ass.” I kiss her cheek and move before her fist can connect with my jaw.
“I just found out I’ve been sleeping with the man I’ve secretly loved all my life. He’s going to know.” She sucks in a breath and I freeze, knowing it’s too late to take back my words. “I can’t believe I just said that,” I whisper.
Two people who secretly have the hots for each other have sex with each other with our knowing who the other person is.
This book was just what I needed after my last read. It was sweet and sultry but also unconventional. It added to my allure of “what would you do if the lights went out.” I thoroughly enjoyed this story and the love that Parker and Mia finally succumbed to. They both were unsure of what would happen if they joined Society X but their curiosity got the better of them. Well faith decided to work in their favor they were finally brought together. They have a small bump (I didn’t like Zac from the get-go but I also didn’t understand what he was trying to do) but they deal with it. I loved the dark room scenes. They weren’t to over the top, they just added that unique intrigue. It was definitely the spice that I needed.
I loved everything about this book! It had the perfect balance of hot, steamy sex scenes, sexual tension, sweet romance, back story, angst and action! There were a few times I groaned, thinking the plot would take a predictable turn… and it ended up surprising me delightfully, instead!
Mia Hudson gave up her hopes and dreams to appease her ex-boyfriend, Zac, now she’s stuck working at her brother’s gym as an instructor, rather than launching her career in the fashion industry. A chance bachelorette party at the exclusive club, Society X, finds Mia getting her sex life back in the saddle in a way she never would have dreamed of and it isn’t long before she’s addicted to the Dark Room and the complete stranger inside of it – on the outside, she’s dodging Zac’s stalking and fighting against her heart for an old flame it never got over…
Parker Ward might have an enviable scorecard when it comes to women, but the only reason why he ever stepped foot into the member’s only sex club, Society X, is because as the CEO of Ward Enterprises, he’s a silent investor. When his friend convinces him to try out his investment, Parker finds himself falling fast for his mysterious Dark Room partner – and shamefully picturing the face of his best friend’s sister whenever he’s with her. Worse, when Parker finds out that Mia’s single again, he starts longing for the off-limits beauty just as much as his anonymous, sexy lover.
The only thing that left me scratching my head was the introduction of the reporter, Peter Fields. I don’t know if his threats to Parker were supposed to be a plot-twist decoy, but it felt more like the authors decided to go a different, better route and completely forgot to eliminate him from the story altogether, which would have been a lot better than his sudden disappearing act with no explanation.
The rest of the fully fleshed out story will have you turning pages at rapid speeds, pacing, biting your nails, fanning yourself and making random outbursts that might cause witnesses to stare at you like you’re crazy. Without giving too much away, just let me say that you will absolutely LOVE how things turn out and won’t feel an ounce of disappointment!
