I love this series and all the characters. As expected this book was full of fun, mystery and quirky characters.
A CHARMING CURE
Book Review
Lisa Anne Taylor
The second installment of the Magical Cure series -A CHARMING CURE- gives you more background information on the spiritualist community, and the residents of Whispering Falls, Kentucky. Also it gives you insight into how June is coming to terms with her own powers, her blossoming relationship with Oscar, and what is expected of her in Whispering Falls.
June is shocked to learn that she has an aunt – Helena Heal- and that Helena is the headmistress of the local spiritualist university called Hidden Hall. It upsets and infuriates June to learn that she, as a new spiritualist in town, has to attend Hidden Hall. June opts to take the four day crash course instead of the full course of study. As you would expect things don’t go well at all.
On the first day of being at Hidden Hall she has to deal with being the headmistress’ niece and her friend Eloise being accused of putting a student, Faith Mortimer, into a coma. When Eloise disappears, June realizes that there is true evil on the campus. An evil that seeps into the town of Whispering Falls and the entire spiritual world. June quickly learns about Darksiders, Goodsiders, Teletranporters, and the Ultimate Spell. June knows it is up to her to find Eloise, to cure Faith, and to find a way to root out the evil that could destroy her world.
This is a fun, enjoyable read and a must read for cozy mystery fans.
June is just getting her shop going when a woman appears and tells her she needs to go to the university. The woman is her aunt that she didn’t know about. She only has to go there for four days and what could happen in four days. Oscar is going to watch her shop while she is gone. She doesn’t have a great reception at the university and everything falls apart. One of the girls falls gravely ill, the professor disappears and June is blamed for everything. She is expelled. When she gets back to the town, she sees that everyone is ill, even Madam Torres is affected, and the town is going down hill. What to do? She needs to find the cure for what is ailing the town and figure out what is going on at the university. Will she be in time?
I read the first in this series some time ago and swore I’d get back to the series. I didn’t until now. I enjoyed this one as much as I did the first. I can’t wait to finish the series. I have high hopes for it.
A charming tale where we’re still learning more about June’s background and the residents of Whispering Falls. June is not excited to go to school but we do get to meet some more new characters. Great twists. I had a feeling about the villain but it was good to read the story surrounding it.
I loved A Charming Cure! This book is so interesting and fun I could not put the book down. A Charming Cure is full of mystery, magic, twists and turns and great characters. I love the characters. June is so interesting and there is so much happening. I really enjoyed June’s time at the Hidden Hall magic university. This book went into more detail about the magical world and June began to learn more about her powers. The book is really entertaining. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. A Charming Cure is a must read paranormal mystery!
Amazing book! I can’t wait to read the next one!
This was my second time reading A Charming Cure. I loved it even more than I did the first time. I’m behind on this series so it was nice to refresh myself with everything. June must attend school since she’s new to being a Spiritualist. What could go wrong? June has a lot on her plate in this installment!
