The storytelling makes this tale one not to be missed. Even though this is the second in series all of the important facets of the first book are revisited without being repetitive if you did read His Frost Maiden. Violette is a sympathetic character. She’s independent, smart, she has a strong moral compass, but she also feels she must avenge the death of he only parent she knew. Dev is the product of two so vastly different species that he was never accepted by either. Having found family and loyalty among the crew of The Conqueror he can finally be just himself. These two are an unlikely match but fate had other ideas. Their battle of wits, fighting attraction, and getting to the truth is often funny and an action packed thrill ride. Great read!

Such a great addition to the series! Captain Violette is fierce and loyal, Dev is a hot, devilish guy (seriously, red skin and horns!). When the two meet, it is on fire! Michelle Pillow continues leading us through the curse of the elements. Edge of my seat waiting for the next one!

4.5 stars
I received this book as an ARC but by the 4th chapter, I had to stop and read His Frost Maiden to find out the background of Violette, the General, and Josselyn. I am so glad I did. My recommendation is to read this series in order.
I am so happy that the author gave us the background on the Bevlons and Angelions towards the beginning of the story just to set the stage between Dev and Gil. The story is really good and the author did a great job of telling the story of how our idols sometimes have feet of clay and the consequences of when they fall. Violette’s journey is definitely eye opening but she fights every step of the way.
My favorite part is the Murkernals. I love them. They added an unexpected lightness to the story,
I totally recommend this series.
Don’t Miss This One!
Dev, half human half demon, has been an outcast all of his life, rejected by both sides of his heritage. He finally finds his home and family among a band of misfit rogues. He will do anything to protect them. When Captain Violet vows revenge on Josselyn, one of his crew member’s wife, Dev will do anything to protect her. Violet and Dev are immediately drawn to each other but Violet is so focused on revenge she can’t see what is right in front of her. This is a great story of love, betrayal and a journey for the truth. I can’t wait for the next on in the series!

Michelle M. Pillow did a great job with the character work in this book. The story line was well written and engaging. The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing this book to life and making it as fun to listen to as it was to read.
I received a copy of the Audiobook and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Fun And Steamy Sci-Fi Romance!!
I loved Dev’s book! Great storyline, amazing character chemistry and action throughout, what’s not to love? I have yet to be disappointed with a story from this Author and she is definitely on my automatic buy list!! Really amazing, imaginative and steamy worlds to escape into.
The audio narration was fantastic and really pulls you in bringing the story to life.
This is the second book in the Space Lords Series, set in the Qurilixen World. This is a fun, sweet, and entertaining Sci-Fi Romance. Violette and Dev’s story is fast-paced, and intriguing. The characters are well developed. The world building is interesting. Michael Ferraiuolo did a good job with the narration.
This book follows after Evan and Josselyns story . Violet has sworn to avenge her fathers death so she’s hunting Josselyn even though she’s been told and has proof her father wasn’t always the good guy she knew she still vowed to kill Josselyn. When Dev first sees her everything around them seems to vanish as they are consumed with each other and when one of her crew kidnaps Dev and puts him in the cargo hold of her ship she sets him free. Their chemistry is off the charts but will they both succumb to their fate or go their separate ways and regret it forever.
I’m late to this series, coming in on book 2; Pillow does a good job setting the scene so I didn’t feel like I was missing anything, well done!
This also seems to be a fun world, and the book still packs action, family drama and steamy scenes. Based on this, I’d like to explore more of this author’s writing.
3.5 stars.
Note:
I listened to the audiobook; narrator did a great job! Smooth voice, appropriate tone and pronunciation … overall a pleasant experience.
We follow both Dev and Violet. It was interesting to see how the worlds intermingled with one another. I haven’t read book 1, but I didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything. Dev and Violet are both fighting their own demons and they are both trying to work it out. I enjoyed the premise and the mystery of what is going on with Violet and Jos. I enjoyed the banter between Violet and Dev as well. Especially when the “worst kidnapper” landed on a planet and didn’t know how to escape being pawed at. That scene was hilarious. The narrator, Michael Ferraiuolo was great. The variety of inflections and tone he used was pleasing to listen to. It was also very easy to distinguish which character was speaking. I was pleasantly surprised with this story.
A fun space adventure. While most of the names I would butcher after listening to the audio version I love Violet’s story and her journey to find love and friendship in an unexpected place. Enjoyable listen and adventurous storyline that kept things interesting and fun!
Audiobook review: His Fire Maiden picks up where the prior book left off with the overall story arc but with new individuals to focus on. The characters continue to be interesting and captivating. The tension between the sisters is palpable and the attraction between the new lovers is hot. The narrator did a great job with providing unique voices for each character with appropriate tone inflections for each scene. I received a free copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This is the second book in the series. It gives a bit of background at the beginning. Although its from Violet’s POV instead of Josselyn’s. Violet is looking for revenge against her sister. A crew member of Violets kidnaps Dev and places him on her ship. Now the fun starts! They each have a burning hunger for each other. Along with a general dislike because one’s actions will hurt the others family. What to do…what to do?
The planet they land on after using the escape pod?!? Hahahaha! What a funny scene! I’m telling you the crew completely makes these books. Their joking and acting up again each other makes this an enjoyable scene. I mean seriously Rick?!? I can’t wait til you get yours.
These crews are still as outrageous when we get to hang out with them. We are introduced to Violets crew in this book and they seem different but yet similar. They all have anger issues along with smart mouths and they are just dang interesting to learn about. Not counting the laughing I do with them.
A great narrator makes a book even better. Michael Ferraiuolo is beyond amazing!! He makes all of different voices for this large cast. I love listening to what he comes up with. He does amazing with the rise/lowering of his voice and tempo. Plus I can always figure out who is talking just by different voices. Simply outstanding!
This is my second book in the series. I enjoyed it and it is closely tied to the first. I want to give a shout out to the cover of this book! It is perfect for Dev! I look forward to reading/listening to more
The second book in the Space Lords series a well written story with a very good storyline. This is Dev and Violette’s story which is an enemies to lovers story. I want to read the next book. I have now read this story twice and each time I can see something I missed the first time around. I would recommend. I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing.
I was hooked from page 1!!! This book starts where book 1 leaves off so read in order to understand what’s going on. I devoured this book and ignored all obligations because I couldn’t put it down. It has everything you could want; suspense, action, steamy scenes, laugh out loud moments, and incredible characters. Can’t wait for the next book!
So I give this 3 1/2 stars. I didn’t care much for the first Parr of this story which was the ending of the last book just told by a different point of view. The book does get better though. I have to say I do like Dev a lot more then Evan so that helps. I’m happy to see Violette come to understand everything. I do wonder what will happen with the rest of the crew so I guess I need to keep reading.

I originally read this back in Jan 2016
In this book the crew has already rescued Josselyn and she needs to deal with something before she moves on.
Possible SPOILERS
Violette Stephens is on a mission to avenge her Father’s murder and the person who did it was her sister…the one she learned about by accident. As Violette and her crew chase down Josselyn, Violette’s crew kidnaps a member of Josselyn’s crew named Dev. Violette & Dev get a little friendly but when Dev makes a run for an escape pod he takes an unwilling Violette.
On board the ship with Dev’s crew, Violette has been learning that not everything she has been told by her father is the whole truth especially when Dev’s crew takes her to where the secrets come out….
Violette wants everything out in the open even if that means Josselyn is telling the truth
I really enjoyed this book. The author has created some unique aliens. Loyalty is a good quality to have. Violette is loyal but here is somewhat misplaced. Dev with his demonic good looks really grabs her attention. Only she views him as being on the “other” side. The descriptions of the ice planet and were chilling and eerie. I received a copy of this book from the author and freely leave this honest review.
