Weston Matthews is 21, a senior in a prestigious Ivy League College, and has a tongue like Gene Simmons! He’s a frat boy, hockey jock, and all around ladies man. He does have one problem though, he has to ace his Early American Lit class in order to graduate and stay eligible to play hockey for Hardwick University.
Weston is provided a tutor to help with his senior Lit class. Enter Penny Lane, … Penny Lane, also a senior at another local college, doing part-time status at Hardwick. She tutors to earn money, but her aspirations go far beyond just that. Penny is plain, nerdy, brilliant, and has a hidden agenda. She and Weston get off on the wrong foot, and from there, things will only get crazier.
Fasten your seat belts, and hold on for dear life as you take this roller-coaster ride on the Walk of Shame!

Such a great story although I loved all of the G man series. Highly recommend them all. Full of twist and turns you don’t see coming.
“We are a mismatch that are perfect together, if that makes sense.” That’s what Peyton says. And that totally nails it!
This story about Weston and Peyton really made me feel good. It has a great storyline and characters.
This review is based on the audiobook.
The duet narration by Tor Thom and Charley Ongel is fantastic!
If you like opposites attract, nerd/jock, then you will love Walk of Shame.
Plus it’s the first book in second generation of the G-Man series seriously hot series.
In addition Tor and Charley narrating perfect.

Weston And Peyton Fall For One Another In A Haphazard Way! Peyton Shifts From One Identity To The Next, Yet In Each One She And Weston Connect In One Way Or Another.
Peyton Lang, twenty-one, has her eye on admission to an honors program in graduate school at UC Berkeley next fall. The former Miss Rhode Island and Ratliff undergrad is naturally driven, so she decided to go the extra yard to cinch her acceptance into the competitive program. Towards that effort she requests dual school status at nearby Hardwick. Attending part-time there allows her the opportinity to collect information anonymously for her thesis paper. She is thrilled to begin to prove her theories on male privilege. She believes men to be shallow, incapable of overlooking social barriers and looks when starting any kind of personal relationship. To conduct her study, Peyton sports a mousy wig and downplays her good looks, adopting the name “Penny Lane.”
Weston Matthews, twenty-one, is the star goalie for Hardwick’s hockey team and very popular around campus. He was born into wealth; his good looks and athletic abilities give him all the more ammunition for his cocky attitude. But things aren’t perfect. He is feeling pressure from his father to get serious. He hasn’t decided what he wants to do following graduation in the spring, and his grades leave much to be desired. He is retaking a literature course this semester, so his father arranged a tutor to help ensure Weston doesn’t fail again.
When Weston meets Penny, his tutor, he can’t help but be annoyed by her demands. She pushes him, and soon he finds himself studying more than partying. And despite her unappealing appearance, he actually begins to like Penny as a friend.
When Weston is seated at one of Peyton’s tables during her shift at Big Daddy’s, she gets a different kind of attention than he gives Penny, but she is quick to shut that down. Still, she can’t help but feel a strange attraction to him.
Weston struggles through family issues while trying to find his path forward. He is actually quite intelligent and compassionate underneath his jock persona. He just needs some inspiration to motivate him.
Peyton is strong and driven, yet very flawed. She lacks self-awareness and must learn from her mistakes. She struggles to come to terms with her past as she tries to search her soul and relinquish the theories that had so conveniently allowed her to cast blame elsewhere.
Weston and Peyton fall for one another in a haphazard way. Peyton shifts from one identity to the next, yet in each one she and Weston connect in one way or another. By the time Weston puts the pieces together, though, much damage has been done as a result of Peyton’s deception. The couple eventually earns their happy ending.
One note. There is conflicting information about Peyton’s major. It states first that she is a double major in Sociology and Political Science, yet later she states that she is a socio-economics major.
Weston and Peyton’s story is a perfect combination of humor and drama with just a hint of danger. Their best friends, Marcus and Eva, have a romance of their own in the background, adding to the complexity of the relationship. The story is well-written. The plot is fairly simple. The characters are nicely developed with detailed backgrounds. The story is written in first person in Peyton’s POV, and alternates in third person with Weston’s POV. A little unusual, but once you recognize that, it is easy to follow along. I rate this book four stars.
So much happens in this book that leaves you happy and fulfilled at the end. I loved this book and the narration is amazing! A perfect duet narration.
I love this book, and buy the audiobook. It was so worth the nominal upsale. It was classic smart girl tries to prove the jock does not have a brain. Fortunately, he does and it is a spicy read. Not for those that despise corse language or graphic sex. I got the ebook through story origins and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Peyton Lang is extremely smart, at least book smart, but when it comes to life she is a little behind. With no mother to guide her through puberty and adolescents, her dad did the best he could, but he couldn’t protect her from everything. With a determination to prove her thesis about men Peyton is about to find out she may have been mistaken when an experiment goes terribly wrong. And unfortunately the guy she is beginning to like is at the center of all that went wrong.
Weston Matthews must pass his classic lit class or he won’t graduate. His new tutor isn’t what he expected. Homely, yet obviously smart, she also appears to have a chip on her shoulder. So why does he feel the need to protect her?
Interesting and entertaining story with plenty of typical college life antics. Definitely for over 18 readers!
I received an ARC and voluntarily offer this review.
Great storyline and character development made this book a hot and enjoyable read! I could not put it down it was that good!
“I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.”
Peyton has a perfect idea and opportunity for her college thesis. Her study of the rich entitled college jocks. Peyton, disguised as Plain Penny Lane, tutors Weston Matthews, star hockey goalie. Along the way, she ends up finding out more about herself, why she was being judgemental. Why she was so hell bent to expose his famIly, and Weston as a spoiled entitled playboy. But what changed her mind? This is a story of self discovery, secrets, love and betrayal.
Tor Thom and Charley Ongel are phenomenal in their narration. The voices and personalities for each character were spot on, and ability to transition from one character to the other is flawless. #audiobookobsessionreviewer
Walk of Shame is the story in the spin-off series featuring the children of the G-Men and Women we have met in the original G-Men series. This series follows the lives of the next generation. Darcy and Easton Matthews have a son, Weston, and this is his story. He’s a student at Hartwick University, a prominent Ivy League school, where he’s goalie for the hockey team and all around bad boy stud. He finds himself in trouble when his grades are bad enough to keep him from playing hockey, let alone graduating. Enter Penny Lane. She is also a senior and has been assigned to tutor him to get his English grades up. Little does he know, she has an ulterior motive and he’s about to become a guinea pig in her experiment. In kindergarten, she didn’t win an award for excellence and she got the idea that boys were somehow considered superior. As she got older, she decided that she is going to observe this hypothesis and do her thesis on it. Her plan is to present herself as two different women and see what the reaction is to her as both. Penny, the tutor, is an uptight, plain-looking nerd with false teeth and glasses who is very unemotional in her teaching sessions with Weston. Peyton is her alter ego and presents herself as a drop-dead gorgeous woman who’s outgoing and dresses seductively. Weston can’t help but notice her beauty as she serves their drinks but he has no reason to put two and two together…yet. Both Weston and Peyton are about to have their world rocked as they’re disguised as a rogue clown and a witch. What fun it is to watch as they come to the realization that the truth isn’t always what it seems and people aren’t always who you think they are. Wonderfully written characters with magnetic personalities and a plot that is tight and full of secrets! The narration is magnificent with Tor Thom and Charley bringing the story and each character to life in a most eloquent way!
This was an intriguing story. I enjoyed meeting these characters. I really liked Weston the best. He seemed to be a player but he owned it. He actually is a nice guy which comes out in the story. I loved that he played hockey and struggled with school. Granted he is irritated at his Dad for getting him a tutor. I was shocked that he was actually doing the work. His ego wasn’t too big. I liked that and it made him more relatable and realistic. On a side note..I liked the name of Weston and his Dad Easton. Like east and west. Very creative!
The Female character was not a favorite because of what she is going. She is playing with people and I wasn’t a fan of that. As the story moved forward she becomes tolerable…then I started understanding her and liking her.
I listened to this on audio and these two narrators rock! They do such a wonderful job portraying all of the characters. From the older women/men to the stranger characters.
This isn’t my first novel by this author. This isn’t my favorite that she has written but it’s still a good read. I enjoy how she is able to fill the book with all different genres. The romance, the mystery and the thrill take me on a ride of emotions. Her stories flow very nicely and they are easy to listen to. I did have a character that I hope gets a story and that is Westons sister, Carson. She intrigued me.
4 star Review Walk of Shame (G-Man #6) by Andrea Smith
Audio Review:
Andrea Smith is a relatively new author to me. The narration from Tor Thom and Charley Ongel was good and certainly enhanced my enjoyment of the story.
I don’t usually listen to YA or NA stories that often, but I did enjoy Walk of Shame. Weston Matthews is your typical cocky, at times arrogant hockey player who loves to play the field both on and off the ice; although having said that he certainly grew on me. When his grades fall and he is in danger of not graduating, therefore not being eligible to play hockey, he is assigned a tutor to help him.
Penny (Peyton) Lane is not exactly what she appears. She is writing her thesis and has decided that Weston will be the subject of her paper, although he has no idea. Walk of Shame is quite an emotional story and both the narrators did a credible job in expressing a variety of emotions. I think you are in for a bit of a surprise as the story has a few twists and turns which will keep you guessing.

Walk of Shame
G-Man, Next Generation, Book 1
By: Andrea Smith
Narrated by: Tor Thom, Charley Ongel
Series: G-Man Series, Book 6
No shame here, I loved everything about this book, from Andrea Smith’s wonderful writing style, her stories flow naturally and are realistic and easy to relate to. The storylines she creates are interesting and captivating from start to end, I found it difficult to put the book down, I just needed to know what was going to happen next. The characters are complex and well developed by the end you can see how much the characters grew and came in to their own. I adored Peyton, her strength, her ambitions and drive to set out for what she wanted. I loved how she went about working on her thesis. Weston, a popular frat boy and a star hockey player on his college team. He needs help in his English Lit class is assigned a nerdy tutor, Penny Lane, to help him get a passing grade. Penny really knows how to push Weston’s buttons. I loved how well plotted this book is, all the drama, twists and turns, angst, lots of other emotions and bit of suspense and some hot romance. There are some great secondary characters in this book too. This book is another reason why Andrea Smith has become one of my favorite authors. Thank you for another outstanding story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Tor Thom and Charlie Angel are fabulous narrators. They are versatile voice performers and are amazing at what they do. They brings these characters to life, humanize them giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they project the emotions of the characters and the drama of the story into their performance. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen

G-Man, Next Generation, Book 1

There is no shame in this fantastic addition to the G-Man series! This new adult story features Peyton, a senior in college, writing her thesis. She works part time as a waitress and tutors. We also meet hockey star Weston Matthews. Confident, good looking, but needing help in his literature course and hires Penny Lane as his tutor. Little does he know that the waitress he flirts with is his tutor. This original story line kept my attention! Peyton/Penny is a fantastic character. Sassy, smart and focused, she has an unyielding confidence. Until she doesn’t! Weston is really interesting, as he is fascinated with both personalities of Peyton, I love this, not only because of the lessons they both learn with this, but it just goes to show there is more than meets the eye in a person. Complex, well developed, a hint of suspense and steamy, I loved every minute of this one! Andrea Smith has become one of my go to authors when I am need of a great listen. Each of her books has been such a pleasure to listen to and I look forward to the next.
Tor Thom and Charley Ongel bring this story to life. One of my favorite teams, these two have a chemistry the shines through in their narration. Thom has a variety of voices in this one, and while I love his warm baritone as Weston, I loved his creepiness as Peyton’s stepbrother. Ongel comes in as Peyton/Penny, portraying the separate personalities excellently. I love both of them and always know I am in for something special.

This is my first book in the G-Man Next Generation series. Ive never read any of the original G-Man series, and honestly you don’thave to for this book. It can be read as a stand alone.
Weston Matthews is a senior in college who needs help passing Classic Lit II. If he doesn’t pass he loses his eligibility to play hockey and graduate from Hardwick University. Weston is a cocky playboy who doesn’t do relationships.
Enter Penny Lane that Weston’s dad hires as a tutor to help with his Lit class. Penny is nerdy, plain, unassuming, and has a hidden agenda. While stuying part-time at Hardwick University. She assigns Weston the most femist pieces in history, and all they do is clash.
Read the book to find out Penny’s secrets, and find out if her and Weston can put aside their differences.
I liked Weston’s character, yes he was the stereotypical jock, but he had a heart of gold. He may have had a flithy mouth, and been a manwhore, but he still had redeemable qualities.
Penny is not my favorite character, I did not really like her femist triade. She contradicts herself too much. I would explain more about her, but I don’t want to post spoliers about her.
The story started off really slowly. Once it finally picked up, it switched topic, and the issue was rushed. I would have liked more that the main issue not have been rushed through.
The writing style was confusing at times. Writing in 1st and 3rd person and then multiple pov”s at times got hard to figure who which character was which.
Overall it was an enjoyable story with a unique storyline. Definitely worth a read if you enjoy college romances that invovle jocks, nerds, tutors, and students.
i was gifted a copy by the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review
I loved this story. Perfect combination of great story and wonderful characters.
From the first chapter I knew I was going to love Walk of Shame. I love college romance, I love hockey romance (for information though, not too much on ice action), and I love privileged jocks getting put in their place by hardworking sassy nerdy girls. This story had it all. It was passionate, sexy, and at times emotional. Great characters, intriguing storyline and lots of sexy time. I was sucked into their drama, addicted throughout, and in desperate need for Weston and Peyton to get their happy ending, even if it wasn’t what either of them thought they wanted. Tor Thom and Charley Ongel narrate Weston and Peyton perfectly. Oh, and I just want to say, I absolutely adore the cover.
