Intense. Devoted. Protective.Michael Sloan is all of the above, with a hard tough edge to boot. He’s not the guy he used to be. Years ago, before all the s&%t went down, he was laidback, carefree, and even happy-go-lucky. Life changed him. Hardened him. There’s one woman though who can break down his walls. Someone who knew him then. Who can reach inside to that heart he protects … who knew him then. Who can reach inside to that heart he protects fiercely…because she’s the only one he ever gave it to. When they collide, it’s tender and savage, gentle and rough, and makes them both hungry for more of this electric, once-in-a-blue moon kind of sexual chemistry. But it’s a battle of wills between Michael and the woman he loves, with words and emotions held close to the vest.

Great conclusion to the Sloane Brothers story.
Holy moly! What I was expecting was a love story, second chance love, a little bit of down and dirty maybe. What I got was an epic conclusion to the mystery that has been surrounding the Paige-Prince/Sloane siblings for 18 years. Oh and yes, a second chance sexy romance in the mix. How does an author tie in all these stories, all these characters, all the timeframes and all those loose ends? I have no idea, but Lauren Blakely pulled it off. After I’ve lived and loved this family for the last four books I can tell you it was absolutely perfect, such a clever, flawless, intriguing story, full of suspense, drama and let’s not forget the sexy time, because, no one writes sexy time quite like Ms Blakely. So many emotions, so many clever plot twists, and a truly beautiful dedication to finish the series off. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
I will read anything by this author! All of her books have terrific characters and engaging plots. Love the steamy romantic scenes also!
I loved this book and was sad that it was the last in the series. I loved all these characters and their love stories. But th story about the tragedy in their family had we on the edge of my seat.
This is the perfect conclusion to Ms. Blakely’s exhilarating and sexy Sinful Nights series! I loved every romantic, sensuous, and heart-pounding moment. This second chance romance reunites Michael Sloan with his “What If?” girl, Annalise Delacroix. They met and fell in love while Annalise was a foreign exchange student in Las Vegas. When she had to return home to France they vowed to stay close and make their relationship work. When they are torn apart by time and distance, they are forced to go their separate ways with broken hearts. Now 10 years later Michael receives a letter from Annalise that she will be in LV for work and would like to get together. Their reunion ignites the long dormant feelings they both harbor and their desire to explore the “What If’s”. They remember their wonderful connection as young adults but now as bolder, dirtier, and more passionate adults they fit even better than before. But is that enough for two people who don’t want to risk another broken heart and who still live on different continents? This is a very romantic and sensuous love story. I was drawn in to the nostalgic and personal feel of the written word, deep terms of endearment and the speaking of french in the throws of passion. Michael had me in tears about half way through as I felt the rebirth of their love and the struggle to protect themselves. He is so devoted, thoughtful, protective, romantic yet dominant. Annalise is a strong, loyal, caring heroine that really tugged at my heart as well. Their banter was fun, their chemistry was off the charts and I loved them together.
Ms Blakely also expertly weaved a suspenseful mystery arc throughout this series. I was so enthralled in the flashbacks that revealed the events leading up to Michael’s father’s murder. The twists and turns in the story had me engaged as it picked up speed to it’s thrilling conclusion. I cannot express how much I loved this whole series. The character’s were all so intriguing, genuine and honest that I hate to let them go. Maybe we could get something about John & Mindy? 🙂
This is definitely an exceptional series that shouldn’t be missed!
Michael and Annalise’s book was a story of second-chance love. There’s was not the ordinary “love gone wrong” type of story, no there’s was of distance and time. As teenagers they were each other’s first loves and unfortunately, distance (Annalise lives in France and Michael lives in Las Vegas) and circumstances dampened their possibilities of continuing their relationship. They tried to keep the flame burning through letters and phone calls, but that proved to be futile. Now, 18 years later, Annalise is back in Vegas for work and has reached out to Michael to reconnect. Much has changed for both of these characters, so through the test of time, distance and life in general, will they be able to find that love they once had? Michael has NEVER forgotten his one and only true love and because of that has never fully moved on, but Annalise did “move on” so to speak, and had a life of her own…she was married and is now widowed because of that, she is fearful of opening her heart to another, but the pull to Michael is irresistible and these two once again find themselves falling for each other. Will Michael be able to live with the ghost of her dead husband? Will Annalise be able to open her heart up to the possibility of losing ANOTHER loved one? Read to find out!
SINFUL LOVE was the perfect closure to this series. I was patiently (not so patiently) waiting for Michael’s story. His character intrigued me from the start…overly protective big brother that was solely focused on protecting his younger siblings and finding justice for his father’s murder. But you could tell, in the glimpses that Lauren Blakely gave us of his character, that there was something in his past preventing him from opening his heart up to anyone, but his family…whom and what were those circumstances that made him the man he appears to be today? That’s what I was curious to know and in SINFUL LOVE we figure out just that…a woman named Annalise was the core to his whole world.
This series was not only about siblings finding love, but it also had a mystery in the plot…WHO KILLED THEIR DAD (Thomas) and WHY? Well, we finally get all of our questions answered. In between Michael and Annalise rekindling the flames, we find out the real motives and reasons behind Thomas’ murder. Lauren changes things up a little in this book and gives us multiple POV’s. Not only do we get Michael’s and Annalise’s POV’s, we also get Dora’s (the Sloan kids mother), Thomas’ (the Sloan kids father), Sanders (one of Thomas’ best friends), John’s (the detective), Colin’s (one of Michael’s brothers), and some others…I don’t want to mention because that would be a spoiler 😉
I loved how Lauren wrapped up all the characters stories at the end of SINFUL LOVE. It made it feel like a more complete “happily ever after”. It was bittersweet to have these characters stories end, but what a beautiful ending it was <3
“We finally made it to the Bellagio,” she whispered, for him only.
“We finally made it.”
