Thumbs up
Vaughn is one of my favorite of the FBI Agents in this series. He makes himself look much more rakish than he turns out to be. From his first meeting with Sidney I just liked his whole attitude and his way of approaching her.
Sidney comes off as effortlessly elegant, intelligent and charming. She’s also not going to settle for a “player” yet that is what Vaughn let’s her believe he is. Her search for someone willing to commit is made more interesting by her using Vaughn to translate her date’s “man speak”.
Most of the story is either about planning the wedding of Sidney’s sister to Vaughn’s brother or Vaughn’s latest undercover adventure. I really enjoyed this story.
I live this series! Wonderful books to read and if you have to put it down – you can hardly wait to pick it up again. So easy to relate to the characters in this story and before long you become part of the story. Enjoy reading this book
I so enjoyed this one! Vaughan is an FBI agent, and he is the first to let everyone know he is an FBI agent and loves to flash that badge, and he is the first to admit he is commitment phobic and just the thought of settling down with one person makes his eye twitch. Then his brother gets engaged and he meets the bride’s sister. Actually they have the “meet cute” prior to the meeting at a coffee shop and it is not a good meet and she knocks him down. Sidney Sinclair is a take charge investment banker who just wants to meet “the one.” She has been on way too many first dates and has a list of what makes a good mate. Too bad she and Vaughan keep getting paired up for the wedding activities and one kiss led to more and the chemistry together is off the charts. It was fun watching these two circle each other and finally when that ah-ha moment happened. Definitely a keeper!
This is part of a series, FBI/US Attorney, but IMO it’s such a great read that it can be a stand alone book. Julie James never fails with her witty characters who have Laugh Out Loud verbal sparring and interesting story lines that you never want to end!
Sidney Sinclair is a career oriented woman who is in her thirties and has recently been burned by her cheating fiancée. Now she is on a mission to find “Mr. Right” but the contenders must first pass her “list” of 34 qualifications.
Vaughn Roberts is a Special Agent with the FBI and is in no way ready for a committed relationship because he is too busy playing the field.
Sidney and Vaughn’s siblings are getting married to each other and they meet prior to a pre-arranged dinner. Sidney refuses to fall for his charming, good looks and Vaughn thinks she’s too Snarky. So they are determined to avoid one another during the wedding planning but end up coming into close contact with each other over and over.
The battle of wills and snarky repartee ends up with hearts getting involved and deciding if they can live without each other.
