A standalone novel in the Traveling Series *
Twelve years ago Tucker McCoy walked away from the hell that was his family with not much more than the shirt on his back. No regrets. Never once looking back.
Living his life as a roustabout turned stunt rider with a traveling carnival keeps a smile on his face. His new family are the people he’s chosen to be in his life, the people who travel his … the people who travel his road. Kes, Zach and Zef don’t share his blood, but they share his hopes and dreams. Understand his fears and know what makes him tick. They’re his brothers, his real family.
If you keep moving, no one can catch you—it’s a simple rule. So when Tucker crosses paths with Tera Hawkins, he knows he should move on. There’s no woman that’s ever been worth breaking his rules for. Besides, she’s off limits, untouchable. He knows stronger men would walk away, but dammit, he’s always been weak.
All he can offer her is a night she’ll never forget, but will that one taste be enough?

‘Roustabout’ is the third book in the Traveling Series. Although you will meet characters from the first two books, this is a standalone story featuring one-third of Hawkins’ Daredevil stunt riders, Tucker McCoy.

Jane Harvey-Berrick does it again! In this book we finally get to learn about Tucker’s heartbreaking story, his background, his family. We also meet up again with Kes, Aimee, Ollo and the rest of the carnies. I love that Tera is a strong character who knows how to deal with Tucker’s history. I hope this isn’t the last of the Travelling series. We want to read more about the carnies. As expected a well researched story about carnies, I’d recommend this to friends.
I was impatiently waiting on this book after I reading The Traveling Man/Woman. There is just something about books that take place at the circus/traveling carnivals. There is just this added magic to the story. I love reading books where the characters are kind of misfits, who don’t fit normal society.
I loved Tucker in the previous two books, he had this whole care-free atitude. He was this funny guy who was always smiling. BUT people who act the happiest are the ones that hide the most, but they just don’t show it to the world. In Roustabout we learn what happened to Tucker and why he joined the traveling carnival. My heart went out to him, he had such a sad childhood.
Tera is Kes’ sister and is from a rich family. When she meets Tucker she feels an attraction to him but knows his reputation as a player who doesn’t do relationships. He is known for his one-night stands. But at the end of the day they cant resist each other. Tucker goes back to his hometown and comes face to face with his past that he left behind. I really enjoyed this book, and I am hoping there will be more books in this series because I am not ready to say goodbye to these characters and the traveling carnival.
Once again Jane Harvey-Berrick has me wanting to join the carnival. Kes will always be my boy… but Tucker has a special place in my heart now. His carefree attitude due to his past, makes you really enjoy his banter with everyone including Amiee. Enter Tera and all bets are off for him. She took him to a place he never thought he would get to and I absolutely LOVED how these two came together. They fought their attraction to each other so hard but chemistry wins in the end.. and it was explosive. I enjoyed how these two meshed so well together as well as with everyone else. You first meet Tera in The Traveling Woman as she is Kes’s sister. I loved her there and loved her fierceness in this book as well. She gets an eye opener but follows her heart not her head. Tucker is a sweet talker that gets brought to his knees regardless of the obstacles that are in their way.
Once again, this book is one of my top books. Harvey-Berrick writes to eloquently that I cannot put the books down that she writes. Just like the ones before, this one flows so well that you get lost in the world that she has created. If you have never read one of her books, I HIGHLY recommend picking up this series. You will not be disappointed… and who doesn’t want some alpha males in their lives!

After loving the first two books in this series very much I was very curious about this story. ‘Roustabout’ is the story of Tucker, one of the other stunt riders that travels with Kes. We met Tucker in the first two books, there we saw a little bit of him, in this story we get to know him a lot better. I must confess that it took me a while to get into the story, but that’s because I (personally) am not a big fan of manwhores and Tucker is a big one. It’s only from the moment that he and Tera are really becoming close that my feelings are changing and that I’m much more invested into the story. That doesn’t mean that the story isn’t good. The writer knows how to write emotional stories and this story is no exception but I think after Kes and Aimee’s story my expectations were a little bit too high. I was very happy to see everyone again from the carnival. I liked the fact that we also saw glimpses of Kes and Aimee in this book.
One thing that I really appreciated about this story is how the relationship between Tucker and Tera grew. It grew slowly from an one nightstand into friendship into a relationship. They didn’t have all the answers for their future and that was okay. I loved that! Because that also happens in real life. Sometimes you just don’t know but you still want to try it.
Loved this series. Last in a series of 3. Wanted more stories about carney life
