“Keep Me” continues that dark and twisted path it wrenches me dry!
“Keep Me” by Anna Zaires is the second book of the “Twist Me” trilogy. The dark mafia series picks up where it left off in book one, where Julian is reunited with Nora after a four-month separation, and what Julian had in mind immediately after their reunion is exhilarating yet shocking to me – but I won’t spoil the fun by revealing it here! 🙂
As the story progresses, we catch glimpses of domestical bliss for the couple and Nora even resumes some normalcy of life as she pursues her studies. However, despite the seemingly happy lifestyle that they developed, crisis arises and they are once again faced with a life-and-death situation.
“I need her like I need air, and I would do whatever it takes to keep her with me. I would die for her, but I would never let her go.”
In this book, I find that Julian underwent some sort of an emotional development and starts realizing feelings he never felt before. But is it love or simply just an unprecedented level of obsession he has for Nora? I especially love Julian’s character development in this book as he explores the new emotion that Nora invokes in him and tries to come to terms with it.
“I love you even though I see you for what you are—even though I know what you’re doing to me. I love you because I’m no longer capable of not loving you . . . because you’re now part of me, for better or for worse.”
The same goes for Nora, who has now fully embraced her insane love for Julian and is slowly becoming a stronger person and even a pillar of strength for Julian in times of need. There is actually a small part of me that resents her growth into the dark side, but I think her character development is essential in order for the storyline to go on.
“For better or worse, we fit each other now, our twisted, damaged parts locking together like a jigsaw puzzle.”
Basically, book two just solidified the love (or whatever kind of insane obsession that Julian claimed to have) they have for one another.
Like the first book, I find book two a page-turner with a well-planned storyline, solid writing, an adequate amount of steam to spice up the read and also some angst along the way.
As the second parter of the trilogy, the book once again ends in a HFN where one could simply stop at this point or continue with book three.
Note: I have read the trilogy in its entirety before re-reading book two to write this review. It is in my best effort to review “Keep Me” as much as possible taking in regards only the context of the plot in this book.

PHEW!!! This story will be the death of me !
Nora and Julian pick up after book 1 and gawwwd, do they plunge Headlong into a chaotic world of smuggling , arms dealing terrorism *shudders* political espionage and the most violent of all -Fucked Up Love .
It’s a ollar coaster ride nd my head us still spinning
Throughout the book , I saw Nora trying to and coming closer to Julian, like a normal married couple. But there’s still a nagging feeling lurking in the back of her mind.
He’s Still her abductor and Kidnapper ! He forcibly marries her , forcibly puts trackers on her because he’s a man without a shred of Remorse and Guilt. He wants Nora so he takes her… simple!
His world is pretty black and white and he admits he enjoys torturing people. He is turned on by her pain and tears, he feels a thrill in killing people, sight of blood gets his adrenaline pumping. Male no mistake , he HAS accepted that he is NOT and does NOT want to be normal. There is no chance of his redemption. He can NOT and would NOT admit that he could LOVE Nora, though she’s irrevocably detroyed and full on in love with him
How Fucked up is That !
But I COULD.NOT. put this book down.
Now to Book 3
It reads like one of those headlines. And yes, I did it. I stole her. Nora, with her long dark hair and silky skin. She’s my weakness, my obsession.
I’m not a good man. I never pretended to be one. She can love me, but she can’t change me.
This second book is amazing the story line is full of action, drama and is very addictive, with the characters you tend to love to hate them, the sex is hot but also rough, hard and abusive so not for the faint hearted.
I love all her books. She is a fantastic writer and I love the genre that these books are in.

So, this is the second book in the twist me series and it is just as good if not better than the first one.
My wish to know what was going on inside Julian’s head was granted and I am so feckin’ hooked on that dark and naughty man.
And Nora! In the name of the wee man! I love how her fire and spirit came out.
She is no longer a timid wee mouse (even though I loved her in the first book), nope, she is a tiger with claws.
Loved it all.
NORA
Yup, this wee sweetie has grown some claws and even though she is still a little scared of Julian she is not afraid of trying to put him in his place. Well, at least she gives it a go lol.
The thing is though, she is utterly in love with him, All of him, the dark and the light. And it just keeps getting more intense for her.
She is testing the boundaries to see how far she can go with Julian and how much trouble she’ll get into.
She’s also exploring and admitting to the darker side of herself. Not only does she like the pain but needs it.
“Is that what you want, my pet?” He pinches my nipples forcefully, then rolls them between his fingers, causing me to bite back a moan of pleasure tinged with pain. His voice deepens, turning dark and seductive. “Do you want me to hurt you… to mark your soft skin and make you scream?” I lick my lips, tremors of heat and anxious excitement running through my body. I should be frightened, particularly after our conversation tonight, but I’m desperately aroused instead. As perverse as it is, I want this too—I want the ferocity of his desire, the cruelty of his affection. I want to lose myself in the twisted rapture of his embrace, to forget about right and wrong and simply feel. “Yes,” I whisper, for the first time admitting to my own dark needs—to the aberrant craving he has instilled in me. “Yes, I do…”
JULIAN
Julian is equal parts evil and charming. I love this guy!
We get to see things from his point of view in this book and a little about his childhood as well. As I suspected, he had a crappy upbringing with a, particularly cruel father.
He has a void in him that only Nora can fill. She’s the only one to ground him and bring him some semblance of joy.
His obsession with her grows and grows and while the measures he takes to control her and keep her safe are unfair and wrong, I just can’t seem to dislike the man.
The desire to possess her is violent, all-consuming. It’s an obsession that goes beyond a simple sexual need, though my body burns for her. I don’t just want to fuck her; I want to imprint myself on her, to mark her from the inside out, so that she will never belong to any man but me.
SEX SCENES
I have highlighted so many sex scenes in this book that I had a really hard time picking one out for the review. They were all extremely hot and passionate.
Pulling her folds apart with my fingers, I lick the area directly around her clit, tasting her essence, then push my tongue inside, penetrating her as deeply as I can. She shudders, her hands finding their way down to my head, and I feel her nails digging into my skull. One of her fingers brushes against my scar, sending a bolt of pain through me, but I ignore that too, focusing solely on pleasuring her, on making her come. I revel in every drop of moisture I wring from her body, every gasp and moan that escapes her lips as my tongue works over the bundle of nerves at the peak of her sex. She begins to tremble, her thighs vibrating with tension, and I taste a spurt of salty-sweet moisture as she comes with a helpless cry, her hips lifting off the bed and her pussy grinding against my tongue. When she finally goes limp, breathing heavily from her release, I crawl over her and kiss the delicate shell of her ear. I’m not done with her yet, not by a long shot.
Final Thoughts on KEEP ME by Anna Zaires
There was so much action is this book that it kept my heart pounding all throughout. There were also a couple of characters that I need to know more about.
Two very alpha men, Lucas and Stephan. And I believe they have their own story, so I am jumpin’ on the spot. Canny wait!

Thank you!
What a wild ride! This book was full of action! Julian royally pissed me off but I love him! And Nora was a complete badass!!! This was a great 2nd book! Anna’s writing is so phenomenal I can’t rave about it enough! I’m so ready for book 3!!
Audiobook: Narrators – Robert Scarlato & Shirl Rae
With the addition of Mr. Scarlato’s voice this audio just took the series up to a whole new level for me. While I enjoyed Ms. Rae’s voice in the previous book, I wasn’t constantly turning the audio on. However, this time around, I found myself unable to stop the audio. This pair together were perfection!
Okay, this book has just pushed me off the fence I was riding after book 1 and right into the middle of crazy town and I absolutely love where I’ve landed. With this installment in the series I was allowed into Jullian’s mind and wow…talk about dark and dangerous. But there is also so much need to protect and keep Nora safe. And he does it in such extreme controlling ways. Yet I loved it! There is never any question as to how he feels about her and even if she’s a bit back and forth with her decisions, she loves him. I am definitely moving forward and doing so with excitement.
This time it’s told from both Julian and Nora’s views, you get to see how Julian feels at the thought of another man touching Nora, Nora decides to go willingly into the spider’s web, knowing he will kill to keep her safe.
Nora is stronger this time and has a bit more fight in her against Julian, he loves that she’s trying to find out what exactly their relationship is, but he won’t allow her to do anything to put herself in danger.
Nora is still trying to work out if Julian loves her or just wants to keep her when everything goes wrong,
Nora learns the depths of her love, having to do the one thing that she knows Julian will hate, and he realises that although he thought she may resent him sometimes, what she does shows that she’s the only person that really loved him and protected him.
Book 3 in this series and still action packed and a great HEA ending. Absolutely loved this series!!! Again a must read series
Keep Me was an even darker read than Twist Me and I absolutely enjoyed it. I have to say that as dark and twisted as Nora and Julian’s relationship “marriage” was I still found myself laughing especially when he she stood up to him, then ran and he started chasing her. It was highly entertaining. If you read Twist Me and found it was too dark a read for you, I highly suggest you back away now, but if you like dark, twisted and compelling reads then this is the series for you. I look forward to reading Hold Me, the next book in the series when it is released.
