My name is Matt Connover. I am a Litigation God. Other lawyers quake before me. Women crawl on their knees just to spend the night in my bed and when I’m finished with them, I walk away without a backward glance. I am well satisfied with my life and there isn’t a damn thing I’d change about it.That is, until McKayla Dawson came along. She was meant to be for one night only. But she got under my … she got under my skin, and now I want her back underneath my body.
It’s torture working with her in my law firm… day in and day out. But I have to think maybe the Fates have intervened to throw us together because she is unlike anyone I’ve ever known, and thus I need to pay careful attention to these Legal Affairs.
****
Confessions of a Litigation God is a stand alone, full length novel. It follows the affair of Matt Connover and McKayla Dawson as told in Legal Affairs. This book is told strictly from Matt’s point of view and has many additional scenes as well as an extended epilogue. You do not need to have read Legal Affairs to enjoy this novel.

Why does this get 5* when it consists of so much inner dialogue and descriptions of events that take forever to become a relationship of sorts? The answer is because it delivers what it sets out to deliver: a story about an excellent lawyer, Matt Connover, who has a big ego and a big internal wall due to being betrayed by his ex-wife. He is accomplished at his job and has the gift of looks and charm. He thinks he can coast thorough life with one-night stands because he never wants to get emotionally involved again so that he doesn’t get hurt like he did by his ex-wife. Women like to read about the one intelligent, loving woman (McKayla Dawson) who tamed a hurting man and helped him learn how to love again, right? This book does the job, although I must say, I had no idea I’d be hearing so much swearing, crudeness, and reading about so much sex. I guess that’s what you get when you read a modern story from a thirty-something-year-old male point of view! Still, the author did a good job of making the language easy to read and believable (although admittedly not sooo believable with the ex at the end) … and somehow, Matt was still lovable, even though there are times when the reader wants to shake him and talk some sense into him.
I liked this book and the related one written from the woman’s POV. I enjoyed both books very much.
So hot it burns up the pages! Great characters and an even better story keep you riveted!
Enjoyed the fact it was told from the male perspective. Good to know men have doubts, beat themselves up and recognize their shortcomings…..all with a manly sarcastic humor. Wish the female character was a little stronger and less inclined to swoon with a few kind words. Overall this book is definitely worth the read
300 pages of sex before our man begins to change. Than another 200 pages till he does. Three stars lucky. Very boring and longggggg
Great Book!
This book is different because it is told from the man’s point of view so for me that was informative. He is not a very nice person in many ways because he has been hurt so badly. This has made him twisted. I don’t know if anyone would have the patience to stick with this man but of course the heroine does. He really abuses her at times and that bothered me.
Love this author, always a great read
i loved this book great story
This story was a 2-page porn sex description repeated 200 times. The main character was a selfish pig whose only interest was sex at any cost. The last chapter was redemptive but I’m not sure was worth 400 pages of repeated porn and nothing else.
I only gave 3 stars because about half the book is identical to Legal Affairs the first book of the series. I knew it was Matt’s point of view, but I didn’t expect that more than half of the text was copy-paste. Because of the title, I hoped that there were more about his lawyer life.
This story in Matt’s POV was unbelievably hot and so steamy, I had to take frequent breaks from reading to fan myself!!!! I was worried this book would be exactly like Legal Affairs (told in Mac’s POV), but it’s so different and has a bunch of additional scenes. I always love to see the difference between what the male and female are thinking during special and steamy moments.
I highly recommend reading this book!!!!
Matt Connover is a litigation and sex god! This book chronicles his and McKayla’s relationship journey from his POV. We follow him from ‘it’s just sex, to giving into their attraction, to pulling back from his feelings, to the epiphany that he loves her and can’t live without her. His side of the story details his reactions to their onteractions and his inner thoughts of things occuring around him. We also get more detailed accountings of his legal prowess and insights into conversations that were alluded to in Legal Affairs. Matt Connover had so many layers built up tha only a strong woman like Mac could peal them back. Try as he might to keep her at arm’s length, he fell hard for Mac almost from their first night together. He just needed to own it.
I loved reading this book because you read it from Matt’s POV and boy was it hot!!! I loved that you get his perspective and thoughts but most of all the epilogue was amazing. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.
If you read Legal Affairs from Mac’s point of view, you will love this addition to the series. This is from Matt’s point of view. It doesn’t tell the exact same story that Mac’s books did. This one goes further into Matt’s mind. We weren’t allowed in his mind in the other books. Now we know what he was thinking and why he treated Mac as he did. I wanted to just strangle him at times. This is an awesome read. You get a wonderful epilogue. No cliffhanger. Hot scenes!!!
This was super steamy, ultra hot! Loved it from the start. Sawyer Bennett is a favorite for me.
