BOOK THREE: TRISTAN & DANIKATHE IMPACTTristan hit rock bottom, and no one felt the impact harder than Danika. She was forced to see, in the most brutal of ways, that love does not conquer all. Bruised, bloody, and broken she had to walk away. THE AFTERMATHPicking up the pieces of your life after a tragedy is a daunting prospect, and that’s considering you still own all of the pieces. But what … all of the pieces. But what if you don’t? What if someone else owns those pieces, and those pieces are a part of your soul?
You dig deep and work with what you’ve got.
That’s what Danika told herself and believed, every single day, for years.
Tristan and Danika’s love had failed every test that life had thrown at them. She couldn’t forget that, not for one second. And if those tests had been overly harsh, well, she wasn’t one to wallow in self-pity. The failure was the thing she had to focus on. The failure was the lesson. She had no intention of working so hard to make it out of hell without learning that lesson well.
THE REUNION
Over six years after the night that changed everything, Danika finds herself forced to spend the weekend constantly in Tristan’s company, as they attend the wedding of two of their dearest friends. It’s been long enough that she feels they can be friendly again without it destroying her peace of mind, but just a small amount of time in his presence has her remembering something she had forced herself to forget: There’d been a reason she’d gone through hell with this man, for this man, some true good to precede the bad.
She shocks herself by quickly giving in to a hunger that she never imagined could still consume her.
Even the best intentioned denial has a breaking point.
THE HARSH REALITY
After everything that’s happened, the rise and the fall, the pain and the aftermath, can these two navigate the waters of acute regret, survive the trials of coming face to face with all that they have lost, and find the strength to try again?
This book is intended for readers 18 and up.

Well, Lovely Trigger marks the end of an incredible, emotional, angst-filled, heartbreaking, gut-wrenchingly beautiful series.
After the ending of book two (which shattered me beyond any belief..) Book three jumps forward each year that these two are apart, which is around about the time these two were introduced into Up In The Air series.
Both T&D have grown up, overcome a lot in the past few years and are now in their late 20s and 30s living a life of their own, and getting through each day the best they can. But once united at James and Bianca’s wedding, and sparks begin to fly once more, and they find themselves in a hot and steamy moment together which leads them back to where they started again. Their love never died. it simply was pulled apart strand by strand so once they get another taste of it, that was all it took, unable to resist each other they find themselves tangled up, messy and all consumed by each other again. But things are different and things seem to be running smoothly for a moment, and finally, it could mean a second chance for these two. That was until all old demons, past tragedies and old memories are brought up and things begin to spin out of control. But THEY ARE different this time around. Both are maturer, both have grown from their demons and overcome them, and they managed to finally but not without struggle find that happily ever after they have been longing for.
It goes without saying that this ride for these two characters has been a struggle but watching them learn and grow in this book was amazing and the ending was perfect. I could not have asked for a better ending than this. Although this book is a little less emotional than the last book, it will still have your heart all messy and tangled. R.K. does not go easy on us with this book and this happily ever after is not earned easy
So, once again, after reading again, I am left completely in shock and awe. I don’t think that will ever change and I think I will continue to come back to this series and read it again and again. It’s a story that hits home for me in a lot of ways, a story I can relate to, that breaks my heart constantly but I am completely in love with. I cannot fault this author or any of her books. I continue to get lost so deeply in each and every one of them, and this will forever be an all-time favorite of mine.
Sit back, grab as much wine as you possibly can, and a fan… and get ready for one emotional, mind-effingly, all-consuming, gut-wrenching, EPIC reads of your life.
I could rate this a million stars if I could.
So, I have a list. A list of male characters that, in a parallel world inside my mind, are mine. Men whose personality traits may not always be seen as positive — to some people at least. For me, on the other hand, those traits are the reason why they belong in my list.
As with many, it all started with Fifty Shades and Christian Grey, who has never left the pole position.
For never have I had it so bad for a character. Never have I thought there would be any other character up there, replacing him. He would be forever my #1. Period.
BOY WAS I WRONG! TRISTAN VEGA has swept me off my feet! What a unique and incredible character!
Tristan is one of those men who chicks want to marry and guys wanna be friends with.
A talented, caring and extremely romantic man. Not a billionaire — for a change —, but someone whose ways of expressing love really spoke to me.
However, he isn’t able to refrain from feelings which are so overwhelming that end up leading to his reaching rock bottom. For Tristan feels too much. He loves too much. He hurts too much.
He’s stolen my heart from the very beginning and in the end I can say that he’s pretty much wrapped the parallel me around his pinky!
Aside from a great hero, R. K. Lilley brings us a fascinating female character.
Danika has to be one of the most fantastic heroines EVER!
She’s a strong-minded young woman who carries the most beautiful heart and has got a huge sense of loyalty to herself and to the ones she loves. Danika is wonderfully witty, smart and impulsive, but her strength is hands down her highest trait.
The way she carries herself throughout the story, bouncing back after everything that happens to her and around her, is simply impressive!
Extra points for the amazing secondary characters, who got me laughing and crying!
R. K. Lilley builds such great characters, and her writing style — so raw and deep — is really exciting.
If you’re looking for a great second chance love story that’ll bring you ALL the feels, TRISTAN & DANIKA is the one for you.
Buckle up and enjoy the ride! Just be aware: the hangover is unavoidable!
Needless to say, I’ve got a new favorite.
Million-star read!
WOW! I loved this book and the whole series. I’m emotionally spent and a complete mess, but I loved it anyway
The last book in Tristan’s and Danika’s story was not sweet or swoony Nooooo…
Like the first two books, it was unbelievable gripping and terrible emotional, but at the end finally with a spectacular HEA
But before you get to the epic HEA, you have to go through the hell of an emotional rollercoaster of grief, anger and acceptance.
To forgive and forget you have to go through all the stages of mourning. It’s a long, terrible and brutal process and this book describes all of them very detailed.
It’s not pretty and it really messes with your emotions, but it’s necessary to finish this brutal and painful, but also a beautiful story.
I had so many mixed feelings during this series, that I can’t say if I more loved or hated the characters
Danika mostly made me white-hot angry Her stubbornness and her lack of confidence or maybe the lack of trying to fight back, was just annoying.
Tristan was completely unpredictable and did mostly the opposite of what you would expect from a “normal man”.
But what was so amazing about this story, was the process from young adults with emotional problems to a beautiful adults that were able to use their horrible past to create their amazing future together.
This book is not a stand alone. You’ve to read the previous 2 books to follow the story.

An okay performance. Nothing particular stood out as exceptional but nothing pulled this one into the “never listen again” file either. Overall, just okay.
This one was a little less angsty than book 2 but I was still suffering from the trauma of that one that I kept jumping at shadows every time a woman entered the scene. I wanted to feel like Tristan would never hurt her again but I couldn’t relax my guard. I didn’t trust that he wouldn’t make another a-hole decision. Yes, he loved Danika with everything within him, but he had loved her in that way before their relationship was broken. My trust was broken and I never felt this author was able to heal the residue it left behind.
I wanted to love this series but there were just too many things that annoyed the heck out of me – mainly the no communication or tstl moments by the heroine and even they way she enabled him up until they ended things. Now I’m wondering if I really did love the Up In The Air series because if it was anything like this one then I’ve definitely gotta rethink it.
