4 stars – It was really good
Dare Kenyon, the Raven Riders MC President, will do anything to protect his brotherhood of bikers. When they take in two women in need of a safe haven, he finds himself falling for the first time. But will her family prevent them from having a future together?
I am so glad we got a spin-off series because the Raven Riders were great side characters in the Hard Ink series. I really enjoyed Dare and Haven’s story. Haven was an innocent woman who has never been able to live her own life. Now that she is at the Raven’s compound, she finds herself struggling to find her true self and do things she was never able to do. I loved Haven. She was a survivor who was trying to live her life to the fullest. She is the perfect partner for Dare because she brings a softness to him that has been missing.
Dare is a protective alpha male who had a very rough childhood. That has prompted him to change the Raven Riders to a more legal and community oriented club. They protect those who need it and I really love that about this group. How can you not love a group of burly bikers who take care of women and children in need? Dare was just a great hero who made Heaven feel safe and protected for the first time in her life, and I loved him so much for it.
Overall, this was a great start for this spin-off series. I loved that we see the partnership with the Hard Ink gang is still there and they are still helping each other. I can’t wait to see which Raven will fall in love next.
Trigger Warnings:
– Haven and Dare were both abused in the past by a parent.
– References to kidnapping, gangs, and human trafficking.
A thrilling and steamy page-turning read! All wrapped up with a HEA!
Dean “Dare” Kenyon runs the Ravens MC, he doesn’t want the club running the old ways, so with the help of his grandfather, cousin and best friend, he turned the club around. They help those who can’t help themselves.
Dare lost his older brother and mother to guns (his father shot them when he found out they were running way.)
Haven loves to bake, it’s her way of contributing, saying thank you and a way to calm herself down.
Very cowed, scared of her own shadow, she’s lived a very sheltered life (Haven would claim a prison life) on the run when she found out she was going to “marry” one of her father’s friends!
Hiding out in a biker club wasn’t where Haven thought she’d be, but better than the alternative.
She wants to move on, she wants a life, and when her friend Cora tells her to write a list of things she wants and wants to do, Haven thinks it’s a good idea.
The list starts off short and grows longer within a day, also on that list is Dare, and all the things she’d like to experience!
I’ve not read any books by this author. But I have heard of her. And gets this as a free read definitely helped
MC (Motorcycle Club) books usually aren’t my thing, but I did like the premise of this book, so I thought I’d give it a go….
The Ravens aren’t your typical MC (but then most of the MC books claim that!) they help those in need. And Haven was definitely in need! Coming from an abusive and controlling family life, Dare knows all about that kind of life. She’s hiding in the clubhouse after they were rescued from another biker club, (her best friend Cora was with her) they need somewhere to regroup and then find a new start.
The attraction between Dare and Haven is practically instant. But Dare shouldn’t really get involved with her, she’s too young for a start, too innocent and someone they are helping (and you don’t take advantage) but there is something about her that makes him question his own existence, he didn’t think he needed anyone in his life, but Haven looks good in his home and in his bed, they know it’s only a matter of weeks before she has to move away, but suddenly Dare wants more, can he really keep Haven?
And her father is still looking for her! He’s also offered a reward for information on her whereabouts and her return! He’s not going to give her up, will be she able to evade him for much longer?
I have a feeling it’s a spin off from another series (Hard Ink Series) but I don’t think you’ll need to read those (although it might show us how Haven and Cora got captured, and then met Dare)
But I’ll have to look into that series
Anyway ……
Definitely a book I’d recommend.
4.5 stars
This story gets intense! It starts off sweet with a beautiful connection between Dare and Haven. Once Haven’s past comes back to haunt her, there’s no stopping the freight train that rolls through the Raven Riders.
As I said, it’s undeniable that Haven and Dare have a connection. Their chemistry comes off the pages and kept me wanting to see more of them together on the page. Not that we don’t get that, I just wanted them to constantly be together because I’m greedy like that. Haven has been through a lot in her short life. In some ways she’s sheltered, but in most ways she has seen more than most people in her short life so has a very old soul. There’s a significant age difference between these two but it works. Dare also had it rough as a kid and has always felt as if he has to be a protector. That’s a big reason why this relationship works.
I was already falling in love with the Raven Riders (and their families) from reading the Hard Ink series, this story cemented the whole lot of them in my heart. Their mission and their morals are wonderful. They truly have each other’s backs and the best interest of their community at heart.
While the love story part of this book starts off as a sweet flirtation, once these two open up to one another things go nuclear. But there are hurdles along the way. Both Haven and Dare make some decisions that aren’t in the best interest of their relationship, but out of concern and caring for the other…trying to do what’s best.
And speaking of nuclear, I wasn’t kidding when I said this one is intense. We get to meet up with the Hard Ink gang again, which is always fun. Just know, once they show up on the scene you’ll want to make sure you have some uninterrupted reading time. You will not want to put this book down. It’s emotional, tragic, heart-stopping action.
Now that I’ve gotten to know more of this crew (gang?), I’m looking forward to watching them all get their HEAs.

Let me start by saying I am a HUGE Laura Kaye fan! Her Hard Ink series is by far one of my faves. I even loved Hard as Steel, but Ride Hard…yeah….THIS! This book I FLOVED!!! This book grabbed a hold of me from page one and took for me a ride I never saw coming! Raw, gritty, intense, steamy, sexy…the list goes on and on.
The Raven Riders MC makes it their mission to help women in need and Haven just happens to be one of these women. Never able to experience normal things in life, Haven makes a list of things she wants to accomplish. Dare is the edgy older president of the Raven Riders, that finds himself drawn to this younger woman and when he stumbles across her list, he decides to make it his mission to be the one to help her accomplish all of those things. As Haven comes into herself through the freedom she has at the Raven Riders compound, the more Dare is drawn to her and the thicker the sexual tension becomes. Finally tired of fighting his growing feelings, the two finally come together and man! I thought my Kindle was going to go up in flames!
As I kept getting closer to the end, the building suspense had me on the edge of my seat. I could NOT wait to find out what happened. Laura Kaye has done another bang up job with her first MC series and I will be waiting to read what’s up next for the Raven Riders.

Ride Hard was the first book in the Raven Riders MC series by Laura Kaye.
Dare was the Raven Riders President. We met him previously in the Hard Ink series. He was fair and always had the best interest of his MC family and justice first.
Haven was running from her past. We met her in the series prequel, Hard As Steel. She had been a hostage but had been rescued by the MC and was hiding amongst them until she could be completely free and safe.
Haven was shy and extremely cautious of others, especially men. Kaye took us through Haven’s emotions and the struggle of getting used to the MC. Dare and Haven were attracted from the start; although their development was a slow progression as Haven was exploring new experiences.
Ride Hard was a journey of justice, protection and new beginnings with a suspenseful vibe. It was well written, well developed and a great start to the series. Maverick, Dare’s cousin, is up next in Ride Rough and I can’t wait!
4 1/2 Stars! Book one in the Raven Riders series. Can be read and enjoyed as stand-alone. Full length told in dual POV with HEA. Each book about a different brother from the Raven Riders motorcycle club. Dare is the MC president and has made his mission to help abuse victims. Haven has found refuge at the MC compound, but her father has a reward out for her return. I loved how Haven came out of her shell and how her confidence and self-worth grew. Dare was sweet to Haven but he had reservations about their age difference, and he also was struggling with balancing both Havens safety with the safety of the club.
Haven is on the run from her abusive crime lord father. Haven and her best friend land with the Raven Riders MC. Dare is the President of the MC. The Ravens are different than most MCs since their concentration is on helping others. Haven is not the first person they have taken in from a bad situation and helped them get back on their feet. Haven doesn’t trust men because of her father. Dare isn’t looking for a relationship, especially with one of their clients. He has all the family he needs in the Ravens.
This was my first Laura Kaye book but I have already bought some others to read. I have not read a lot of MCs but loved that this one was different. It isn’t that the Ravens don’t do anything that is illegal it is that they are truly trying to make life better for those they help. I am looking forward to jumping into some more Ravens.
Holy Crap!!! If I could give a book more than 5-stars, It.Would.Be – RIDE HARD!
My heart broke several times for Haven and Dare. I loved how Haven developed with Dare being her strength and in return she helped Dare face issues from his past. Then my heart was shredded, only to be put back together in one happy piece.
Love this new series and can’t wait for the release of Ride Rough.
ARC provided by the author for an honest review.
The moment Dare Kenyon finds Haven Randall on his doorstep he can’t help but want to help her from the hell she has found herself trapped in, it’s what he does, help the innocent, the one’s who can’t defend themselves. His intentions to be her protector start off pretty innocent, but the more time he spends with the beautiful runaway, the more tempting she becomes… and before long the sparks start to fly!
When Haven Randall discovers that she is about to be an integral part of one of her fathers shady business dealings, she decides it’s time to run, and finds herself landing on the doorstep of the Raven Riders Motorcycle Club. She knows that her father isn’t going to let her get away so easy, and that he is bound to hunt her down, so being surrounded by bikers seems like a safe place to hide out. They are known to protect the defenseless, so she is hoping for the first time in her life that she can put her life in the hands of someone else… a seriously sexy biker someone else!
From the title of this one I was expecting a gritty romance, but instead I was pleasantly surprised to find something a little softer, and really sweet… who knew bikers could be so romantic! This story had it all, a little edge of your seat action, toe curling romance, heartfelt emotion, and a super sexy biker calling all the shots!! This was my first read from Ms. Kaye, and I have to say her captivating read totally hit the mark, and turned me into a fan! I look forward to revisiting the series in the very near future and having the opportunity to get up close and personal with more of the men from the Raven Riders series!!
Highly recommend this one, it was a refreshing first read full of surprises and lots of toe curling romance that left me swooning… and secretly wishing for a Raven Rider of my very own!!
I absolutely love Dare Kenyon!
Holy hell where to even start with this book.
Such a compelling and twisted story of new beginnings after a life of chaos and darkness. Haven Randall and Dare Kenyon have enough evil to last them a lifetime. This connection brings them together in ways they never imagined or thought possible. I loved every second of reading this book.
First, I loved the age difference between Dare(37?) and Haven(22). I also liked that Haven was very mature she was. When you expected to her mad not forgive Dare, she did. She was very understanding of his lifestyle. Dare was amazing, I love him so so much. I also loved every member of the Raven Rider MC(Maverick, Phoenix, Caine). This book made me swoon and I nearly had a heart attack at the crazy ending. But crazy scary in an oh-so-good way.
Needless to say I absolutely loved this book. I liked the inspiration behind this particular story which you can read at the end of this book. Anyone will definitely enjoy this book if not love it all-together. I highly highly recommend this book.
Ride Hard is the first installment in the Ravens Riders MC series. If the next book is anything like this we will be in for a real treat! The Ravens MC is not like the typical MC books I have read about before. While they do have those distinct bad boy characteristics associated with MCs this one was unique in the aspect that they live by a mission to help save abused women. Laura Kaye is a mastermind at creating characters who pull the strings of your heart and a world you wish you could be a part of.
In Ride Hard we get to go on the journey that brings President Dare and shy, runaway Haven together. From the moment they first met each other you can’t help but feel this pull between the two. Dare was a perfect combination of bad boy biker with a kind gentle heart that made me just want to jump in the book and steal him away! Sweet Haven grows from an abused girl into a woman who can finally dream. Kaye takes her readers on a beautiful journey to show that two people with broken pasts can heal one another and lead the way to a hopeful future. I am thankful that authors help promote each other because without that I am not sure I would have ever discovered Laura Kaye and her amazing biker boys. I have found my favorite MC series and I cannot wait to get started on Ride Rough!
