Walking through fire will either burn them…or forge a bond that will last a lifetime. All work and no play has left hunky firefighter Cole Castillo’s poetic soul floundering. Contrary to his meddling sister’s fairy-tale wishes, romance is the last thing he deserves, and a week-long getaway at a luxurious mountain resort won’t atone for the grievous mistake that haunts him. So he’s ready to … to bail…until he finds a sexy little number jumping on the bed in his assigned suite.
Free-spirited school teacher Ivy Bradford has issues—parent issues, phobia issues, work issues—but one look at her sexy, tormented roommate, and those problems fade to black. To get him to stay for the week, Ivy poses a bet that Cole can’t resist. But bratwurst eating and beer drinking aren’t the only things that will challenge the delicate bond they forge during the week.
When obligations from Cole’s past come a’knocking, will their steamy connection withstand the heat or go up in flames?

When Cole and Ivy are thrown together for a week, neither is expecting their immediate attraction. Ivy wants to act upon it, with no strings attached, and Cole wants to push her away. They both have issues – his born of losing his best friend and fellow firefighter while on the job, and her because of her snobby parents whose expectations are lofty and not inline with Ivy’s more down to the earth and humble goals, to become a teacher. So that they actually give into their attraction is kinda surprising, but was nice to read. Can their fling lead to more even though they live hours apart from each other? Even though his psychotic ex won’t leave them alone? Even though he leaves to go help his ex and never returns?
I really liked Flirting with Fire. It’s sweet, sexy, and Cole and Ivy are such a great couple, once they got past their issues, particularly Cole’s. I like that Cole’s not the typical blustering alpha so prevalent in romance, rather, a regular guy with the same kind of insecurities and vulnerabilities we all have. And Ivy is just freakin awesome – sweet and loving with a huge heart. I’m definitely looking forward to more from this author and this series.
Book one in the Colorado Heartthrobs series a well written book. School teacher Ivy Bradford and firefighter Cole Castillo’s story has a lot of things these two have to come to grips with before they can get their happy ending. I bought this book back in 2017 and then did not read it until now, I wish I had done so before today. I want to read the other books in this series. I recommend this book.
This was a fantastic read from Misty Dietz. Cole is a firefighter roped into a vacation at a resort. While there he meets Ivy a school teacher and roommate. What begins as friendship quickly becomes something more neither expected. Flirting with Fire is filled with humorous wit, a sweet firefighter, a sassy school teacher, laughter, drama, romance, and love. This is a must read captivating story that readers won’t want to put down. This was the first book I’ve read from Misty Dietz and I absolutely loved it.

I love fire fighters and was excited to read this one and it did not disappoint, the story line was a little different and that also had a plus sign in the column. So we meet Cole (sigh) sexy and sweet could you ask for anything more and luckily he met Ivy a sweet school teacher and even though they were not trying to start anything as they were starting to spend time feeling and situations changed..Grab a copy my friends and enjoy!

What a great story, I loved reading this book. Ivy and Cole have been signed up for a contest and win by the people in their lives who love them dearly and want to see them happy. Neither one of them is on board with this idea of a week’s vacation rooming with a stranger. How else does one make a decision, make a bet and see who wins. Even though this is supposed to be a week of relax and enjoy life as well as one another’s company, life is just not ready to let that happen. This was a great, entertaining story on Cole and Ivy finding their HEA. I cannot wait to read Mya’, Coles’s sisters story to see what else can arise.
