Author’s note:
Many people use the phrase “the dark side of the moon” to describe something mysterious and unknown. The dark side of the moon is supposed to be the side we never see, the side that faces away from Earth. This side of the moon faces the cold, black expanse of space. What could be on this side of the moon? (As taken from “science.howstuffworks.com/dark-side-of-moon.htm”
Dark side is used as a literary term and a metaphor for the alien’s artifact and intent. Any similarity to any popular album by any group is purely coincidental.

I love the space travel jargon and the interplay of nations and people. The characters came alive in many ways. A great book!
Hatred between nations on earth could lead to a failure to expand our vision of the universe. Nobody likes a bully
Good plot line, great displaying of competition between Russians, Chinese and Americans, but a somewhat expected “good-guys win” ending. Worth reading.
A very well done sci-fi story. Enough realistic story elements to keep you going along with an interesting alien twist.
Ancient technology has been found on the far side of the moon and so the race is on between Russia, the Chinese and the US to get back to the moon first and claim the technology for themselves. The ending got a little cheesy but overall I enjoyed it.
Great story. Holds your interest right to the end.
Lunar Discovery; unlikely, entertaining, and quite worthwhile. Some reviewers decry the science weaknesses or gaffes in the story. I found them to be easily overlooked because of the intrigue occurring among the players, be they individuals, agencies, or nations. It was fun!
A great, believable, entertaining sci-fi story! Looking for more from this author.
Could actually see this story taking place, well written.
It was aGood read for a rainy winter afternoon! I enjoyed it! Thanks
Rational science fiction within a good, contemporary feeling adventure story.
just not for me
Fast paced and exciting.
This delves into the people who work behind the scenes to make space exploration possible. Given the sudden existence of a signal coming from the moon we see the efforts of 3 “super powers” as they try to be the sole possessor of the alien device sending the signal. Keep in mind they haven’t deciphered it yet, but they have to have it.
Russia evicts the U.S. astronauts from their space station, before they even know about the signal. America has been “renting” space on the USSR’s space station and paying for passage to and from. i.e. America has no space program. China has the signal, but has to come up with a way to get it’s program out of stall mode.
If you want non stop action, go elsewhere. If you have a curiosity about how “they do that.” Read. Before you know it activity abounds and you wonder who actually wins, is there a winner?
mediocre
Fast paced. Fun to read.
