U.S. Marshal Robert “Dent” Hernandez has a gift, if you call specializing in death a gift. Under the auspices of his badge, he tracks and arrests some of the worst criminals Wyoming Territory can spit out. For Dent, the line between vengeance and justice has never been clear. Out there somewhere is the man who killed his father. Dent won’t quit till he finds the murderer.
When a prisoner … prisoner transfer goes awry in his hometown of Evergreen, Wyoming, and Dent’s good friend, Sheriff Ben Hayes, is killed in the crossfire, Dent is forced to serve as interim sheriff. Evergreen is the last place he wants to be. Not only does the town hold some bad memories, but Dent should be out on the trail running down vicious killers, not scolding candy thieves. And he most certainly should not be escorting the very pretty, but jittery, schoolteacher around. What is she so afraid of? Turns out, Dent isn’t the only one in town keeping a secret.
When the bank is robbed and Dent has to do what he does best, choices will be made, lies will be exposed, and hearts will break. Can the reason for the season bring hope and healing to Evergreen? To Dent?
BONUS — Includes a special vintage Christmas recipe, and the story of the amazing inspiration behind Dent!

A Story of Hope!
I finished this engaging audiobook early this morning and was telling a colleague about it during our tea break.
She commented that I must have really enjoyed it because I was so animated and excited while explaining it to her.
Well, I was, and not surprising either. This is a book full of hope, desired and accomplished changes, blossoming love, wonderful characters – the good ones and the bad ones too. It has an interesting mystery to be solved and the story held my attention throughout.
I loved the brilliant voices our narrator came up with. The men sound like men and the women like ladies. Each voice has its own character and is really easily recognisable.
All in all, a wonderful story with great narration and I wholeheartedly recommend it!
I requested and listened to a promotional copy supplied by the narrator and my voluntary review above is unbiased.
Hang Your Heart on Christmas
A Historical Western Christian Romance (The Brides of Evergreen, Book 1)
By: Heather Blanton
Narrated by: Meghan Kelly
Heather Blanton has come through with an exciting story of regret, love and hope! Don’t let the Christmas title fool you, this listen’s message is good for any time of year!. Amy arrives in the town of Evergreen and is involved in a quick but lethal exchange. Dent, a US Marshal kills the culprit that has grabbed Amy, and as collateral damage took the life of the town sheriff and good friend, Ben. And from there, we get to delve into the lives of these two characters. Amy is a strong woman. She is willing to go above and beyond for her students and can’t get over her attraction to Dent. Dent is a bit jaded, is resigned to finding his father’s killer and while capturing and sometimes killing the guilty along the way has become his normal. Now stuck as the temporary sheriff, Amy and Dent learn from each other. The story is sweet, there is some town corruption, action packed scenes and a warmth that will fill your heart.
Meghan Kelly gives her all to this performance. I love her voices, she gives the characters life size personalities with the emotion, fear, and growing attraction. Amy is a strong woman, and Kelly provides her with a sound that is full of confidence. You can hear the tiredness in Dent, and feel his revitalization as the story changes with inflections used with her talent. She is one of my favorite historical romance narrators!

Hang Your Heart on Christmas
A Historical Western Christian Romance (The Brides of Evergreen, Book 1)
By: Heather Blanton
Narrated by: Meghan Kelly
This is an enjoyable, action-packed story for anytime of the year. It is well written with interesting storylines that captured my attention from the very start and held it the to end. The characters are well developed. Amy, after suffering thru an traumatic incident decides to move to a new place, a place that is supposed to be safe, as soon as she steps off of the trains she walks right in to another violent situation. I felt for Amy, how she felt afraid and skittish at times. But as the story goes on it is clear how much inner strength Amy Tate had. Then there is Robert “Dent” Hernandez, a hardened US Marshal who is driven to find his father’s killer, he lost his path, his drive to just turned to one of vengeance. My heart hurt for him, you could feel his pain, his torment. I really liked these two characters, I thought they would be great for each other. I also liked the friendly towns people. Rather Blanton gives an inside view of the dynamics of a small town out west back in the day. She put a lot of heart in to this story as well as action, drama, twists, angst & romance. Than you for this great & entertaining story.
I listened to the Audible edition, narrated by the talented Meghan Kelly. She performs the voices of all the different characters, each having their own distinct sound. I love how she brings the characters to life giving them personality, attitude and a lot of heart. She is an entertaining storyteller, it is always a pleasure to listen to her performances. Thank you for another great listen
