But at night, Allyssa uses her secret persona–that of a vigilante–to hunt down criminals and help her people firsthand. Unfortunately, her nightly escapades will have to wait because the citizens of … because the citizens of Emperion may need saving from something much bigger than common criminals. A medieval fantasy filled with adventure, intrigue, and romance from The True Reign series author Jennifer Anne Davis. This new series is perfect for fans of Falling Kingdoms by Morgan Rhodes, The Remnant Chronicles by Mary E. Pearson, and Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas.more
My goodness, I loved this book. I picked it up, couldn’t put it down. It was beyond thrilling and had a really good amount of action in it. As soon as I finished I had to get the next one.
Just finished this one recently and loved every moment of it. The MC is a witty, spunky, independent young princess intent on doing good for her kingdom, no matter the cost. By day, gracious future Empress; by night, protector of the streets. Set in the generation following the True Reign Series by Jennifer Anne Davis, it brings back lovable characters from that series, but it doesn’t muddle the fact that this series stands alone. With plenty of action sequences and the clash of personalities, it was a fun and entertaining read.
This entire series took me on a fun journey that I never wanted to end!
The characters evolved from book to book- your heart was wrenched in several different directions, but by and by our heroine showed true!
I loved that the heroine had flaws and second guessed herself- to me these moments, made her more relatable and overall brought the story more to life.
I seriously didn’t want this take to end, and I keep fervently checking the authors website to see if there will be a short story released to keep me up to date on the story of these characters lives (my own imagination can’t do this story line justice- so I need the author to give me more!!!!)
Oh my gosh, this book was so great I had to get the next two! Absolutely loved them through and through..! I’ve recommended them to several friends.
It ended up in the air — I suppose to get a person to read the next book.
Great book! Very entertaining!
Writing style was enjoyable to me, and kept up a good pace.
Love it can’t wait for the next one.
Good twists even if predictable. Kept me reading. Liked the best friend relationship. Liked how it spurred conflict and came back to be important later for multiple reasons. Good strong heroine. But wanted more world detail. Seriously doubt heir to a throne would be that much in the dark.
Can hardly wait for more
Although unrealistic at times as far as a petite woman besting strong men in combat, the story line was entertaining and the characters intense and surprising. There is a twist coming, if just can’t figure it out yet. Looking forward to Book 2.
Interesting twists, with a fairly strong female lead.
I found the plot and pacing to be quite good. However, the shallowness of both situations and characters detracted from my enjoyment of the book.
Very well written, good character development. Excited to read next book
Obvious.
Could not build an interest to finish it.
I I did not like the end,it felt wrong!
