Sometimes good things are nearer than expected. Margery has a nothing job, a nothing marriage, and zero self-esteem. Angie has everything she could ever want, except a life of her own making. Talia is overwhelmed by her pregnancy, by handling her career, and by caring for her toddler and a home-bound husband who needs a new heart. Gennifer has a high-powered career and a family that’s learned to … to fend without her. Gladys has never been married and approaches her golden years alone with failing eyesight. For the patrons of Neighbor’s Drugstore, the key to a rich, fulfilled life is closer than they think, if only they can open their hearts to the good nearby.

I did not like this book and I have lots of children, g ch and gg chilren
It did not keep my interest.
The start was a bit confusing, but worth reading on.. Demonstrated so beautifully the difference one life can make in so many other lives by unselfishly sharing ourselves with others. Being an organ donor is just one way we can “be the good nearby”.
Didn’t hold my interest, so I didn’t finish it.

A little hard to follow the characters. It was good though
This was a good story, full of twists. But i enjoyed reading it.
One of the best books I have ever read! I highly recommend it to everyone. It was inspirational and entertaining. It was very thought provoking as well. I can honestly say that will have a lasting effect on the way I live. I can’t say in what way without giving away the plot of this book.
I found the story line a bit confusing. All these different people come in with their own story line. And it takes a while into the story to see how they all tie together. Would have been helpful if the author had dated the chapters so we could understand that two of the characters were the same person but at different times in her life.
I love the title to be the Good Nearby.
This is a story that will stick with me.
Realistic, interesting characters experiencing situations that are easy to relate to. As their lives intertwine we are allowed to live with and learn from their choices based on self as opposed to Gods will. I found this book difficult to put down and highly recommend spending an inspirational day spent escaping into the life Gigi.
Inspirational and thought provoking!
