Liked the characters and enjoyed the book
This book isn’t just about an MC, it is an actual story about two seemingly different people (Rock & Hope) who end up falling in love. I enjoyed this book so much that I have also read books 2 & 3 in the series. Rock and Hope’s story does continue in book 2 but you can easily read only book 1 and be satisfied with how it ends to consider it a stand alone.
I want more Rock and Hope. I couldn’t put it down. Just wanted more. Love the premise of the book. A criminal and a lawyer falls head over heels in love with each other. Can they make it work and be in each other’s world. As different as they are. Rock is the MC’s president and Hope gets thrown into one of Rock’s cases. What goes on from there is an awesome ride. Filled with crime and steamy sex. The many supporting characters are just as interesting as the two leads. What a great book!
Great story, but did not live up to my expectations. I felt I was more told a story then read or experienced the story. I like to me immersed and a participant in the books I read and this one did not allow that. Don’t get me wrong, its a great book, I just didn’t care for the execution. I am going to read the rest of the series ad hope for more interaction.
I loved the characters and the world they lived it. This book had a realistic feel to it that made it seem as though it could really happen. The chemistry was off the charts and Prez was a complete alpha. Worth the read.
***SLIGHTLY SPOILER-ISH***
I really liked the first book in this new-to-me MC series!
I enjoyed the sexual tension, the danger element surrounding the rival MC, the ribbing that went on amongst the brothers & the fact that there was no cheating between the main characters.
Rock… I liked the way he pursued Hope; the year-long grieving allowance, the celibacy, the way he couldn’t stay away from her (even if it was in the shadows)… *swoon* I was slightly annoyed with him when he commented on Sophie & Lilly’s looks, when he pulled Cookie down on his lap & just how cozy he was with other club wh***s/dancers but as long as he puts on some bigger blinders & keeps his junk in his pants, then he’ll remain a good guy in my book.
Hope… Besides what I’ve noted at the end of this paragraph, she was a pretty cool chick. She was accepting of the MC lifestyle thus far, wasn’t catty with any of the women associated with it & was a strong & genuine person. My one beef with her was her making out with Rock while she was married. She regretted doing it (even if she kinda didn’t regret it at the same time) but it still irked me.
Looking forward to book two in the series, Corrupting Cinderella. I’m a bit nervous since it’ll be the second book for Rock & Hope (because angst can be the devil at times) but I’m definitely hopeful for more sexy times between the two! 🙂
Side Note: I could do without the term “mons”… When in doubt, use “p***y”.
Rock is President of the Lost Kings MC and in legal trouble. Hope is a lawyer and ends up representing him when his attorney doesn’t show up to court. The two are immediately attracted to each other but Hope is happily married and has no intention of changing things. A source of danger leaves Rock with no choice but to go after Hope. Will the couple end up together? How will Hope handle her marriage and attraction to Rock? A good story that will be continued in the next two books.
