From the New York Times bestselling author of Tempt the Stars comes the latest in the series that’s “well worth getting hooked on”(Fresh Fiction). You’d think that being chief seer for the supernatural world would come with a few perks. But as Cassie Palmer has learned, being Pythia doesn’t mean you don’t have to do things the hard way. That’s why she finds herself on a rescue mission skipping … herself on a rescue mission skipping through time—even though she doesn’t entirely understand her dimension-bending new power.
Rescuing her friend John Pritkin should have been an in-and-out kind of deal, but with the near-immortal mage’s soul lost in time, Cassie has to hunt for it through the ages—with Pritkin’s demon dad in tow. He’s the only one who can reverse Pritkin’s curse, but with the guardians of the timeline dead set on stopping anyone from mucking about, Cassie will have to figure out how to get her friend back without ruffling too many feathers—or causing a world-ending paradox or two….

Cassie is going nonstop again. This time trying to save Pritkin, help with the war against the gods, deal with the Pythia court, and deal with relationship issues with Mircea.
That ending! Wow! What a whirlwind of revelations and changes. I can’t wait to see how Cassie reacts in the next book.
This story picks up where Tempt the Stars left off. Cassandra Palmer is running out of time to save Pritkin. Cassie teams up with Rosier in a desperate attempt to race back through time to save Pritkin’s soul. While the help of a demon lord would seem to put the odds in her favor, the demon council has left Rosier with only enough magic to cast the counterspell on his son. Cassie is going to have to find the strength to travel farther back in time than she thought possible while trying to manage the facade in her time that nothing is wrong. In her own time Cassie struggles to give her Court a semblance of normalcy and tries to command respect due her station from both the Silver Circle and the Vampire Senate
In Reap the Wind, the clock is ticking on Ares’ return. Cassie is aware more than ever that the former Pythia’s, Anges’, acolytes are causing chaos and making it easier for Ares to slip through the border between their dimensions. Pritkin’s, aka Merlin’s, soul is slipping further away. Cassie brings Rosier along to save him. As always with a Chance novel, Reap the Wind is packed.
Rosier and Cassie’s interactions are a delight. They have a spark of hatred for each other that never dims through multiple centuries and miles and miles of Welsh forest. In present day, Rhea is the only remaining alcolyte that knows what she’s talking about and willingly helps Cassie be an effective Pythia. Rhea really shines in this novel. The turbulent relationships with Marsden and Mircea get their spotlights.
All around, I had so much fun reading Reap the Wind. See you in Ride the Storm!
Busy, busy, busy book. Cassie is determined to save a friend and pairs up with an unlikely ally. They end up in a different world having to take on some formidable foes while attempting to complete their mission and fend off well intended do gooders. Unfortunately, as with anything Cassie related chaos to the extreme takes place. A new ability from a changing curse is put to use.
Okay, so, to be honest, I really contemplated giving this book a 4.5 because at some point I got really frustrated with all the back and forth. But I don’t actually know Cassie’s world any different and I had to take the entire book into consideration.
At rare times I had trouble understanding what was happening but I’m not sure if it really was confusing or just me and my bad English.
There was so much going on again, as there was in all the previous books, and I’m kinda surprised Cassie’s still alive. I was just a bit disappointed that Pritkin was still somewhat in danger, although it was fun to get to know him as a young and carefree guy.
With each book I get more and more annoyed at Mircea and I can’t wait for Cassie to finally get rid of him. I liked him in the beginning but since I became #TeamPritkin, I just want him to go away and leave her alone.
I liked that Cassie finally found some kind of grip on her power, at least closer to the end of the book it felt like she now got closer to knowing how to reach for it and how it can be of help to her. It wasn’t only luck and coincidence anymore. She also got more confident and thought beyond the things she was told.
I still love this series and its characters so much and hope there are lots more books to come.
