I laughed, I swooned, I legit had a hold-my-breath moment of pride for the characters. This book gave me so much genuine joy that it could quite possibly become a reread book for me. And seriously, that never happens. With such wonderful, superbly developed characters, all with distinctive unique voices, it was so easy to get lost in the world Walker has created.
A beautiful, light and breezy read.
Two ad execs are forced to work together on a marketing program for a condom company. Just enough business details to make it interesting, and a great development between the two main characters, with a satisfyingly romantic and happy ending.
I love this book. I love everything about this book. It is the first book I recommend to people when they tell me they want to try reading a M/M story for the first time. It has everything. it is sweet and sexy, funny but with a serious core when need be. Lucas and Cameron are perfect together and the opposites attract trope is done so beautifully in this story. There are little quirks to the characters that make them seem real too. By the end of the book I wanted them to be my new best friends and I’m sure you will too.
65 HOURS was recommended in a FB group I belong to. I had never read the author before and was excited to check them out.
This is a super hot read and I enjoyed it and would recommend it to all (well not too young).
Sort of Enemies to Definite Lovers (an audio review)
I’ll start by saying I LOVE N.R. Walker and have yet to listen to a book of hers that I didn’t thoroughly enjoy. This book was no exception. It was cute, funny, sexy, and entertaining. For the record, it started out sweet but when it hit the sex, OMG, it was sexy. And tons of it. Seriously, Cameron and Lucas spent most of the last quarter of the book in bed, so be forewarned.
Okay, so great premise – two guys who haven’t been getting along. Cameron is the boss’ son and Lucas is the up-and-comer. But Lucas has never quite been clear on where the animosity from Cameron has been coming from. Oh well, time to put all that aside. They have 65 hours to come up with a brilliant marketing campaign for a company that makes personal pleasure products – condoms, lube, toys etc. Okay, so what could be more fun?
Pretty soon it becomes clear why there’s animosity. And it also becomes clear Cameron is not as straight as Lucas has believed. In fact, he wonders if his gaydar isn’t working. Once Cameron comes out to Lucas, everything changes. Suddenly it looks like those personal pleasure products might be put to good use. Except a misunderstanding puts a wedge between the men, and Cameron’s obviously not going to come out to his parents, right?
This is a just a great light-hearted book that touches on some dark themes, but never goes there which I appreciated. The advertising campaigns were genius, and the whole dénouement was perfect. Oh, and the sex. Did I mention there was lots of sex? And foot fetishes and funky socks. Everything a great book needs.
I have to say this audio clipped along and I devoured it in one sitting. The countdown clock helped speed things up and made the book go super fast. I didn’t want the story to end! And I have to give a shout out to narrator Nick J. Russo. His performance was great, and his Texas accent held nicely through the entire audio. So yeah, can’t say enough good things about this book. You have to listen.
Sixty Five Hours was one of the first m/m books I ever read. The story effortlessly withstands the test of time in my eyes, and forced proximity has never been quite this sexy or this much fun! Cameron and Lucas’s romance is on a tight schedule, the same way they are for working out their new marketing proposal. As a reader, I was completely sold by how their relationship developed, the same way the Lurex CEO was. Things moved so quickly, but both MC’s are amazingly three-dimensional, and their connection progresses in a genuine, heartfelt way. Nothing feels rushed or cliché, a testament to N.R. Walker’s writing talent.
I’m rereading this and love these guys so much. Feel-good story that makes me smile.
An exceptional read!
Sixty Five Hours to get along…
Sixty Five Hours to not kill each other…
Sixty Five Hours to fall in love…
This little book was everything – a little torture, enemies and pure romance. Once I started reading, I knew I would not be able to stop until I have finished everything. I’m so sad it’s over. Now, that is torture for me.
Perfect and lovely. Amazing and wonderful. I can’t describe how this book made me feel – I felt so much and it was just so right.
Full of advertising, trust, work, coming out and love.
Perfect for readers of contemporary romances.
This was such a cute, satisfying read. The characters and their developing romantic relationship made my heart melt. And the thing with the socks, omg too adorable. Highly recommend it for a great pick me up.
Well written, fun and steamy.
I love this author’s writing style. I was captured from the first page and didn’t want to put it down. I cared about the characters and what motivated them. Cameron slowly opens up and becomes honest with not only his parents, but with himself. Lucas is loud and proud. His self confidence borders on cockiness and I loved watching him become a softer man because of Cameron. I laughed long and hard when Lucas doesn’t notice that the barista had been flirting with him and he didn’t even realize it until he was almost back home. He then proceeds to blame Cameron for breaking his gaydar. It’s his fault that Lucas doesn’t notice men any more. Priceless!
