The deeply sensual Body & Soul series kicks off with “a fun, sexy emotional read” (Lisa Renee Jones), as one woman discovers the courage to face life’s greatest challenges–and explore her connection with a handsome neighbor.
Violet Walker has been hiding. Withdrawn after a terrible car accident, she is worried about going back to her high-pressure job, where she’s expected to project … expected to project confidence and sleek refinement. Allowing herself a distraction, she’s been watching her sexy neighbor work on his house. But when the shirtless, grinning hunk catches her in the act, Violet is struck by the unmistakable jolt of physical chemistry, a sensation that’s both thrilling and terrifying.
Noah Young is used to moving from one construction job to another, never laying a firm foundation. The same goes for the women in his life–until Violet changes all that. His beautiful voyeur embraces his rough edges and shows him a hint of real love. But even Noah can tell that she’s holding back, hiding her body and her heart from what they both truly want. If only he could get a little help convincing Violet to see herself as he sees her: perfect in every way.

more
I wasn’t sure what I wanted to read so I dived into Naked. I found myself wanting to find time to read more of Noah and Violet’s story.
Violet has had a lot going on in her life and has taken a step back, but she soon has to step up again.
Noah is a handyman doing the house up next to Violet. I found him an enjoyable character, his way of catching Violet’s eye was amusing.
This book has lots of sexy moments. The story also deals with other sensitive issues including low self-esteem and dementia.
I enjoyed the progression of the storyline and it was refreshing having the female the rich one, even though money wasn’t what defined her
I received an email from “Team Loveswept”, recommending this book based on my having requested and reviewed Butterfly Dreams by A. Meredith Walters. Based on the fact that I completely and utterly adored that book, and after reading the blurb for Naked, I jumped at the chance to read and review it.
We have to enjoy life, Violet. Enjoy it while we can because you never know when it’s going to come to an end.
Naked is a heartfelt, sometimes funny, sometimes sweet, journey of self-discovery for both Violet and Noah. Violet’s identity has revolved around her beauty, but for her it’s been a curse. She’s working in a man’s world and wants nothing more than to be taken seriously, for her brains and her business sense. But after a terrible car accident she’s withdrawn from her life and has basically been in hiding, no longer the confident business woman she once was. Noah is floundering, trying to reconcile the life he wants with the life he thinks his father expected of him. While Violet suffers from physical scars, Noah has emotional scars he hasn’t completely come to terms with.
When Noah and Violet’s “relationship” began, it was just supposed to be fun, for a short time. But slowly things started to get more complicated as feelings, on both sides, begin to change. But Violet sticks to the “rules” of the agreement, and when her sabbatical is up she leaves Noah and heads back to her real world. But just when you think you’ve got your life all figured out, it has a way of turning it upside down and showing you what you really need.
Violet and Noah both have a lot of baggage they are dealing with, and it makes for some tense and frustrating moments. But they also have a great love and respect for each other, they just needed some time and distance to realize it.
Noah really grabbed me from the start, and I loved his character throughout. Violet was at times slightly irritating, I wanted her to open up to Noah sooner and trust him more. But it was nice to see her character grow and come into her own as the book progressed.
It’s also great when there is an awesome cast of supporting characters, and there were quite a few in Naked. Harper is an amazing character, so strong and confident, we need more like her. I’m not going to stop eating the things I love just because society tells me I’ll get fat. Amen sister, amen.
All in all Naked is a really well written book, with likeable and engaging characters, and a great storyline that will make you stop and think.
Good story line with interesting characters
