My first book by Amanda Feyerbend, and I can see myself reading more of the Pruitt County Mystery series. The story takes place in a small Georgia county area where Detective Alex Gray has settled. Alex has a painful background, which we are enlightened about much later in the book. Someone is abducting young women, and then their bodies are dumped alongside roads and in fields. One woman has escaped, but the drugs injected to subdue her also erase her memory. Megan sticks around to help in the investigation while several more women are being abducted and found dead. It’s a whirlwind of violence and a race to stop the killing. What’s interesting about this book is we also are privy to the thoughts and activities of the bad guys too. Good, quick read.
Pretty well written book. Good crime story. Detective-victim relationship a bit predictable and sappy. Ending a bit predictable as well.
Endless Evil by Amanda Feyerbend is a mystery/murder thriller that nightmares are made of. The victims in this story fall innocently into a false sense of security only to be caught in a horrific, gruesome circumstance with no escape and with little chance of rescue.
Young women are disappearing in a small town and a few days later are found dead in isolated places along the side of a road. Evidence indicates the women have been tortured and raped before being murdered. The police are baffled with no obvious connection between the women and no evidence to follow up on. The lead detective on the case, Alex Gray, is desperate for clues but is coming up with little to go on. His partner, John Miles, is not much help with the case and to Alex, seems to be spiraling down the ladder into incompetency and untrustworthy. Finally a big break in the case. One of the victims in the case Megan turns up alive but has amnesia and has a hard time remembering any details of the case. Still, Megan is eager to help and soon bonds with Alex to help solve the case.
The story can be torn right out of today’s headlines with similar criminal behavior being reported throughout the country. The story is action-packed, gruesome, and exciting. I have to add that some of the police procedures were sketchy, to say the least.
I almost didn’t read this because I don’t like novels about serial killers and the graphic description of torture that comes with most of them. This book is not like that. The story about the twin serial killers flows well and caught my attention quickly. The romance part does not flow well. Author Tamsen Schultz is the best I’ve read at combining mystery and romance. Since this is a first in series, I’m sure this author will improve since the rest of the book is so well written and her characters are believable.
a real page turner. enjoyed.
Well written with a solid story line.
I really cared about the characters and wanted the killers brought to justice. Raw and gritty.
If you like murder and mayhem this book will not disappoint.
I enjoy the book for its style in narrative. Easy to read, a real page turner.
Excellent reading
Kept my interest, fast read
Why review it again?? I already did and nay gave 3=stars. Did not really like it and don’t remember what I already wrote!
Pretty brutal, but good.
Like a mystery? This one grabs you from the beginning. It captivates you so you can’t wait to see what will happen next. Lots of twists and turns. Heartbreaking to think of the evil some people can do to another.
