When tragedy strikes, best friends turn to insatiable lovers…But harsh realities may tear them apart. Harborside Nights is a sexy, hot, and evocatively real contemporary romance series featuring a group of friends who have known one another for years as “summer” friends, and come together after college to build their lives. They’re tough, edgy, and accepting–most of the time.
Catching Cassidy … of the time.
IN CATCHING CASSIDY…
Wyatt Armstrong never imagined that instead of celebrating his college graduation, he and his twin sister would be dealing with the death of their parents. Then again, Wyatt had never been one to think past tomorrow. He heads to their summer home in Harborside, Massachusetts, with his best friend Cassidy Lowell in tow, to deal with his parents’ death and to try to figure out his next step.
Six foot two, infuriatingly handsome, and flirtatious, Wyatt Armstrong has always been there for Cassidy, helping her pass her classes and fend off unwanted advances, while driving her insane with his one-night stands–but that’s what best friends are for, isn’t it? Having each other’s backs. There was never any doubt that she would accompany him to his family’s summer home–but she never expected to begin seeing Wyatt as more than a friend. Or has she been ignoring her feelings all along?
It’s impossible to ignore the sizzling heat between them as Wyatt and Cassidy get even closer, but Cassidy knows Wyatt’s past, and she has a real job to begin in the fall. Wyatt may be a sure thing for the summer, but Cassidy needs more. For the first time in his life, Wyatt is forced to look toward the future if he doesn’t want to lose the one woman who’s shared his past and owns his heart.
Characters from the Love in Bloom series will appear in the Harborside Nights books. Wyatt is the cousin of Max Armstrong (“Lovers at Heart, The Bradens).

: Catching Cassidy
: Melissa Foster
: 5/5
Catching Cassidy is nothing like your ordinary best friends to lovers romance novel, it is soooo much more. I loved the main characters a lot, they were strong, but flawed! Because let’s be honest, nobody is perfect and this is what makes them relatable. The book also deals with grief and for someone who is currently grieving, this one really hit home with me. What I also liked was the maturity of the characters (especially towards the end); they respected each other’s choices, even though it might hurt the other. It was really refreshing to see a character make a choice based on what was best for her and not her relationship.

changes in life brings about more than just simple
Overall 4 out of 5 stars
Performance 5 out of 5 stars
Story 4 out of 5 stars
Changes in one life impacts so many. There was a change in the way the childhood friends saw life now that a major impact have changed their view on life. Melissa Foster delivers a sweet, charming, expected new adult series with interesting characters with good friends and ties that run deep.
Our story centers around more than the couple at hand it has a greater circumference. For this trio navigating life as a new college graduates, a set of twins, a best friend to them both, and have none of them have real direction for life. Wyatt and Delilah Armstrong have their world changed by the death of their parents. Taking care of all the things needed to have situation at home in Connecticut sends them spiraling for some comfort and control in their lives. Choosing to returning to the summer vacation spot put things in motion that may not have taken place at any other time.
Our main focus of this story is Wyatt and Cassidy. Wyatt was your somewhat typical male of college age. He had all the women that he could ever want tossing themselves at his feet. With the death of his parents and the confusing state of his sister and the reality of his feelings for his best friend. Reality hits him and it’s time to grow up. The best part of realizing he needs to grow up is the fact that he has returned to Harborside and friends that are willing the help him through it all. Friends to lovers was bound to happen in time of need. But the big question is was it bound to happen in time or did the death of Wyatt’s parents push the timeline.
Cassidy had her own issues, mistakes, confusion and more. Poor boyfriends with no moral compass. Parents that rather jet-set than be there for their only daughter. But there are other things that lie behind these events also. What was it about Cassidy that others just found it difficult to fully commit to her and what she needed. He struggle to confront her feelings for her best friend, her choice in careers, her next steps in her own life, and then there was Wyatt.
Virginia Rose and Teddy Hamilton did a perfect job adding depth and clarity to both males and females. There were identities to the characters that were clearly created. I loved there performances. The story itself left me wanting something more and a little bit different. I did not want the typical college kid with no real focus but then finds it in the end. It was nice watching Wyatt grow, but it felt cliche.
Catching Cassidy is the first book in the Harborside Nights series that is also apart of the Love in Bloom series.
Wyatt and Cassidy have been best friends for 17 years. Cassidy is best friends with Wyatt’s sister too and Wyatt’s parents took care of Cassidy as if she was one of the family.
During a break up with her boyfriend and Wyatt’s parents death, Cassidy and Wyatt are realizing their true feelings for one another and trying to fight them.
Wyatt is essentially forced to become a true adult overnight, making decisions about how to run the family business, help his sister grieve, what to do about Cassidy. He’s thinking of everyone else but himself. I love his introspective thoughts and when he and Cassidy finally talk and have it out it’s magic.
Light, easy read, entertaining perspectives
Wyatt Armstrong is a non-planner who enjoys life, women and take care of his twin sister Delilah and his best friend Cassidy.
Cassidy Lowell is a planner, she has it all figured out; college, moving to New York and start her career.
Tragedy will make them all realise that life is not what you always expect it to be and that you have to face it head on no matter what. No more plans.
Wyatt has always been Cassidy’s rock but as he’s falling apart, she tries to understand him and keep her conflicted feelings hidden deep inside her so she can help him as best as she can. Can their friendship survive the feelings of lust and love they are discovering towards each other? Can they be strong enough to resist so they won’t jeopardize their friendship?
Wyatt : “She’s the only woman I want and the one woman I can’t have”.
It’s a story about growing up faster than you wanted. About taking responsibilities for your actions and taking charge of your own life; holding your future in the palm of your hands. It’s the will to follow your heart instead of meeting everyone else’s expectations. It’s what makes you feel alive, what drives you to make it what you need and want your life to be.
“Why is it bad to have aspirations that aren’t going to make us a million dollars but are going to make us rich in other ways, ways that matter, like being happy, fulfilled? Loved.”
A beautiful, well written story that you won’t put down! Melissa Foster keeps on making us “feel” throughout all of her books; she makes them real and allows us to escape to her world. Even thou all her books can be read as standalones, I love the fact that all her books are connected somehow and we get to “re-visited” with some characters over again
Melissa Foster is one of my favorite writers. You can get a feel for the personality of her characters through her words.
Touching, funny and a great romance.
Really good book! Loved it very much!!! It was very detailed oriented, I read the second one about the sister and it’s well written. Highly recommend!
Love the storyline easy to read just a feel good book.
Welcome to Harborside Nights, Melissa Foster’s new series! And what a series it is going to be!.
We meet Wyatt, his twin Delilah, and best his friend Cassidy. they have just graduated and are getting ready for Summer when Wyatt receives a devastating phone call, His parents have dies in a car crash, not only that Cassidy caught her boyfriend of 2 years cheating on her.
They all decided to head to Haborside for the summer and this is where Wyatt and Cass fight their feelings for one another. They have known each other since they were 5 years old and Wyatt is slowly pushing her away for fear of getting hurt if she lands a job in New York.
They are right for each other and once they both realised that the sparks fly!
I did struggle with the syle of writing, as in I sometimes didn’t know what character wast talking. It would be Wyatt one minute then jump to Cassidy the next, It would have been better to have some kind of heading as to who it was to make it easier to read. A few times I had to go back a few paragraphs to get it.
Apart from that I loved the book, the characters and I cant wait to read Delilah’s story next. So glad to be starting a Melissa Foster series from the very beginning.
Two best friends find love after heartache, read it but a wonderful take on growing up. Wyatt and Cassidy are delightful.
Good read enjoyed it very much!
All I can think to say is boring. Sort of copy of another book I read that wasn’t any better.
Great book. Awesome characters that pulled me in.
This was terrible. I got so tired of listening to them wanting to have sex, should they? Should they not? I quit reading it. It wouldn’t have been so bad if the story was told without all the drama about having sex with each other. The others, the same, sex, sex, sex.
Love love love this book! It’s sad and funny and emotional! Fantastic story line!
I read this book quickly to see what happens
