Wow! I didn’t want to put it down.
A caffeine deprived Monday morning set things in motion for a life altering incident.
Can the son of a wealthy father find love in the everyday rest of the world? Can the two worlds combine for love?
Jeni never saw him coming until she was wearing her coffee instead of drinking it. Aiden didn’t realize she was the element missing in his life. But how much can they endure in a short time? And how much can you really trust a person?
I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie’s Book Reports.
Aiden O’Connell-a billionaire, vice president, general charmer and playboy. I want to resist him. But I can’t. My past is fraught with one disappointment after the other-but the pull to him is magnetic. To love is easy. Trust comes harder. An overbearing father, mysterious incidents and embezzlement all tell me to run. Staying by Aiden’s side could destroy me, but leaving him could be the end of us both.
This book was previously published in 2013 in case you start and feel like you have read it before. This is the story of Jennifer and Aiden. Jennifer was in a horrible relationship for three years. The guy was controlling and abusive. This girl has some serious trust issues after that relationship and after a accident she finds herself in the presence of Aiden who really insists that he is going to have a place in her life. He is the total opposite of the man she was previously with. He is kind, generous and a really sensitive man. But can she trust this man? From the moment Aiden laid eyes on Jennifer at the accident he knew that he wanted her to have a place in his life. He may be wary of women because they all seem to be after his money but she is completely different from any woman that he has ever met. Now here is where I had the problem. You have a woman that rightly should have trust issues. She has lived through horrible things in her life that no one should ever have to go through. He doesn’t trust women because he is a rich good looking guy that everyone wants and they both suddenly and I’m talking in a weeks time are professing their love for one another? I don’t usually mind the insta love kind of stories where it happens really fast and you see how that could happen. But with her serious trust issues and him not trusting easily they just fell so quick and no issues were discussed or resolved really. It just felt way to fast for me. I did enjoy watching her become the woman that she should have always been with Aiden. The fastness of it just threw me off I guess.
Jenifer and Aiden first meet when he runs into her car. Not the best way to introduce yourself but it became a pivotal moment as Aiden is captivated by the woman that calls him a moron. As Aiden pursues Jenifer, we find out that she struggles to trust and believe in men after her former fiancé betrayed and belittled her which really dropped her confidence. Aiden however is up for the challenge and a beautiful romance is born. As they get more serious, they find challenges coming from Aiden’s father along with issues at his work. Is Jenifer ready to weather the storm that these issues present? Or will she pull away to protect herself? This is part 1 in a trilogy and we are left waiting to see what will happen next for this couple. I am enjoying the romance but Jenifer does frustrate me though her klutziness is funny and endearing. Aiden is very romantic while at times overly caveman. I am intrigued enough that I want to know what happens next based on where we ended. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
This isn’t the start of another great and interesting series.
The main female has had it rough emotionally. She no longer trusts her instincts or her heart.
She meets a guy who is not backing down or taking no for an answer, and who tells her that he wants to be with her and will protect her. He wants her in his life for ever, and to love her.
Sit back and enjoy the show, get ready for a great new ride.
