Sometimes love happens when you least expect it…
Jenny Romano has never been a white-picket-fence, happily-ever-after girl. Despite a mother who rejected her free-spirited, unique ways as irresponsible and just plain wrong, Jenny has found happiness as a photographer, flitting around the country and snapping photos of other people’s lives. Her older sister, Grace, has a husband, children, and a carpool schedule. She’s the one their mother calls “perfect.”
But when tragedy strikes her sister’s carefully constructed life, Jenny must step in and help. Soon, she’s knee-deep in small-town, suburban life, the kind she’s always avoided…
Psychologist Elliot Drake spends so much time healing other people’s pain that he prefers to keep his own relationships short and uncomplicated. He’s loved and lost once and with a young daughter to raise, he’s not willing to risk his heart again. Of course, he’s never met anyone quite like Jenny. Outrageous and unpredictable, she’s nothing like her well-controlled older sister. And the more he’s around Jenny, the more he wonders if short-term is really what he wants…
Elliot and Jenny are about to discover that real life happens whether you want it to or not. Will they let real love happen, too?

Just shows flaws in families that go on forever. In this story it came to light but only after half their lives have been lived
I enjoyed this novel about a woman’s emotional growth within her family. It was heartwarming and positive. I will read more of Mary Campisi’s novels and I heartily recommend them.
This was a most enjoyable book to read. There was little if any fighting, swearing, or descriptive sex. Had a good story line, steady action, nice characters and promotes good feelings.
Interesting subject but relationship was over the top and not realistic.
I loved this Story
The Mary Campisi stories that I have read deal with an array of emotions with great characters and The Butterfly Garden was no exception. An enjoyable and entertaining read which flowed with deep emotions of happiness and sadness as well and some less desirable emotions we have more than likely all experienced.
Very good.
I was entertained and couldn’t wait to finish the storyline. This author always hooks me to the final period. Lovely story and reached inside your heart and squeezed.
What a great book! Loved the whole dynamics between the characters and how author dealt with issues.
Easy read with happy ending. I think we could all use more happiness.
Truly enjoyed this book. The sister relationship and family dynamics were true to life. Fun read!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I do wish the wrap-up would have had more depth even though they basically said what needed to be said.
I really enjoyed this book. I didn’t want it to end and hope to read more from this author. The characters seem to come to life in a very compelling story that touched my heart.
Jenny has defined herself by rebellion, but is very close to her sister Grace who has chosen married life in suburbia. Grace and her husband are in a car accident. He is killed and Grace fighting to live in a coma. Jenny comes in to take care of her two young daughters. Finding help for Grace and her daughters with a local psychologist, Jenny discovers Elliot — he helps them, Jenny too, even as she helps him past his insecurities. A wonderful story of caring people finding their own way by loving those around them.
A very touching story.
Nice read. Pleasant story. Nice flow and comfortable style. Looking forward to reading more by this author. Just plain nice.
I really enjoyed this story and the characters. The characters were done well and the story was well written. It was so much fun to read it was hard to put it down. The best part that even thought part of a series it can be read on it’s own.
Couldn’t get into it
Good story. Realistic. The book didn’t need the sex scene or cuss words.
