You know what I can handle?
I can handle Jonathan Drazen.
Oh, he’s going to dump me if I don’t dump him first. And I will. I’m going to drop his hot little butt as if it was on fire….but just after this one more time.
*18+ ONLY. GRAPHIC LANGUAGE, SEX, AND ADULT SITUATIONS*
And the drama has begun. In the first book, it ends with the morning after Jonathan and Monica’s first night together. He was just initiated another round when he stops to take a call from his ex-wife. Monica slips out the door and leaves.
This leads you to believe that that one night was going to be it for them. But of course, that is not what happens. That same day Jonathan travels to Korea on business and is away for 2 weeks. He contacts her when he gets back.
This is where Jonathan states he is in love with his ex-wife and will never love anyone else. If he and Monica are to continue it will be a casual fling. Now normally this would really bother me. I do not ever want to read heroes in love with anyone but the heroine. For some reason, this one isn’t bothering me so much.
We do get to see Jonathan converse with his ex-wife while in Monica’s presence and he handled it very well. He didn’t leave Monica’s side and he didn’t linger talking to the ex-wife. I think that’s why I’m not bothered…yet. His attention to Monica is very much present.
We also have some drama with Monica’s ex. He’s more annoying than anything. I actually can’t see what held her to him at all. This ends on a big drama cliffy.
As is with great series, this second book in Complete Submission goes inches further in…
Jonathan and Monica are on body exploring stage of their relationship. Her music career in the background which is equally important. her friends play clashing havoc with her feelings for Jonathan.
They’ve both come to the agreement of “just sex” relationship.
He’s still burnt from his marriage cause he loved his wife deep and those scars aren’t healed yet.
She’s got to focus on her fledgling career, a persistent, embarrassing ex, babysitting her suicidal bandmate/friend and in between is the meddling Jess
Ughhh get on with it!
Needless to say..5 stars
Even though Jonathan and Monica only agreed to a few nights of hot sex the chemistry between the two is off the scales, Monica is the submissive that she never new she was and under Jonathan’s dominant hand their relationship escalates. This is book two in the series and the story line is getting very intriguing and addictive, the sex is rough, hard and hot and the building relationship between Monica and Jonathan is full of lies and secrets.
“I want you all to myself. I want to know what they didn’t do so I can do it. So I can keep you longer.”
Once again, I am left sitting here pulling my hair out, all at the hands of CD Reiss. This woman can write! and by write, I don’t just mean 118 pages of sex.
This has a story, tears, laughter, craziness, and yes good sex and a lot of teasing.
This book starts up around 2 weeks after the 1st ended, and take a minute to understand what’s happening.
All Monica has thought about is Jonathan, and surprisingly, she has been on his mind also.
“I kept replaying it. That moment when you let me. Couldn’t add and subtract worth a dime. I’m sure I overpaid the man.”
But he has made it clear, he loves his ex-wife and that she is the only one he will ever love.
Monica understands and accepts that, but finds herself falling despite the warnings that this can never be anything more.
The sex …. wow. Things heat up and CD Reiss does not disappoint in the bedroom department. There’s quite some hot moments during this book, ones that leave you tied up, a little bruised and battered but defiantly begging for more.
“I understand words like no and stop. Outside of those, your body is my playground.”
We meet the ex-wife, Jessica and the ex-boy, Kevin in this book during an artist event that both Jonathan and Monica are attending. Together.
We learn some details from Monica and Kevin’s past, and Jessica is rearing her stunningly gorgeous head up everywhere. I am sure I am going to hate this woman more and more as the story unfolds.
“If you have never seen beauty in a moment of suffering, you have never seen beauty at all.”
The way this book ends is just as the first, a total mind-fuck that leaves you hunting around for the next book!
Thankfully I have already got the entire series to date lined up on the kindle.
