She only remembers loving him. But he can’t forget the way she left.
Lucy Lovett can’t remember the last seven months of her life. She doesn’t remember leaving her fiancé Zac Callahan weeks before their wedding or moving to Portland, Maine. And she sure doesn’t remember getting engaged to another man. All she remembers is loving Zac more than life itself.
Zac was just beginning to get his … itself.
Zac was just beginning to get his life back on track after Lucy left him with no explanation. And now she’s back–vulnerable, homeless, and still in love with him. Has he been given a second chance with the only woman who stirs his passion and haunts his dreams?
Lucy knows she must unlock those missing months and discover why she threw everything away. And Zac knows that if he follows his heart he’ll win back the love of his life–but if Lucy’s memory returns, his would-be bride might say goodbye forever.

Poor Zac Callahan. This handsome guy is caught between two battling brothers whose drama steals most of the spotlight. Meanwhile, he’s the best friend to everyone, the listening ear, the advice-giver, all while managing his restaurant responsibly and pretending that he isn’t suffering from a massive broken heart. Denise Hunter does a great job of weaving this whole series together and Zac and Lucy’s love story is a big reason for that. It’s a perfect story of forgiveness and second chances. By the time you close the book, your heart will have grown two sizes!
If I could give this book a million stars, I would. The mystery aspect woven into this Christian romance kept me up late, turning the pages, unable to put this novel down. The characters, the setting, the heartbreaking circumstances, this was sheer perfection and a book I’ll recommend to everyone. #TeamZac all the way!
I loved this story and couldn’t quite figure out how they were going to get their HEA but then it happened:) Great story with entertaining characters who aren’t perfect. These people could be friends of min (if they were real of course). Thanks for an entertaining read that was a clean read.
Denise Hunter knows how to tell a good story–one that keeps you engaged. I loved the “Goodbye Bride” and all of the Summer Harbor series. I was sad when it came to an end. Highly recommend!
Loved this story!
This book is second on the series but could be read as a stand alone. I love this author and this book didn’t disappoint. Such a great read.
I can totally understand why they chose to make this into a hallmark movie. Cute characters, an adorable setting, and the storyline was perfectly mysterious. Lucy cracks me up with how confident she is in embarrassing herself.
Lovely characters with an inner journey and quite a heavy tension with the amnesia plague. Faith-filled, and moving.
I received this book for a honest review from The Fiction Guild. Lucy Lovett finds herself in a diner bathroom with a bad headache in a wedding dress and shoes she wanted for her wedding to Zack but knew she couldn’t afford and all she could think of was him. But when she calls him because she needs help he is cold to her but comes to help her anyway. She doesn’t realized that she had lost 7 months of her memory and was still in love with Zach and not knowing who she was engaged to now or what happened in those 7 mo. She has to refind herself, stand on her own 2 feet, make amends to a lot of people and help Zach realize that he still loves her and get rid of the guy who was using her for the money from her aunts estate to cover her loses. She never loved the other guy put he just couldn’t take the hint and wouldn’t tell her way he wanted her so badly. What a wonderful story.
Thought it was well written and easy to read but not very spiritually deep.
Very good book
I thought this book was quite original. I am always looking for something that is a little different. The writing was good, the characters likable, and it kept you guessing until the end. I would definitely recommend it.
I was sad to say goodbye to the McKinley’s but this was a wonderful conclusion.
When the reason for her leaving is revealed, I can definitely relate to her.
This was the second book in a series by Denise Hunter and although the characters are in all three books you can read each as a “stand alone”…….but don’t!! They are all worth reading and you will love all three brothers; at least I did. Enjoy!!
This is my favorite of the Summer Harbor series! At times I was a bit fretted with Lucy and her indecision, but loved her vivacity and outspoken personality. I enjoyed getting to know Zac’s character better and how deeply he loved Lucy before she left and how honorable he was towards her once she returned. I was also please to discover a bit more about Aunt Trudy’s past love life! BTW I fluctuated between listening to this on audio and reading this on my kindle. The audio reader, Julie Lyles Carr did a great job bringing the characters to life!
I have read several books by Denise Hunter and enjoyed them all. In “The Goodbye Bride” Lucy gets hit on the head and doesn’t remember what happened or how she got to where she is. She phones her fiance Zac to come and pick her up. Zac agrees to come but is conflicted because Lucy left seven months ago just a short time before their wedding with no explanation. Lucy doesn’t remember leaving or where she has been for the last seven months. Zac was ready to move on with his life but can’t deny he still loves Lucy. Another fun enjoyable read from Denise Hunter.
