Book 1 of the Ambassador Space Opera Thriller series.
24 October 2114: the day that shocked the world.
Young diplomat Cory Wilson narrowly escapes death in the assassination of President Sirkonen. No one claims responsibility but there is no doubt that the attack is extraterrestrial.
Cory was meant to start work as a representative to Gamra, the alien organisation that governs the FTL … that governs the FTL transport network, but now his new job may well be scrapped in anger.
Worse, as Earth uses military force to stop any extraterrestrials coming or leaving, as 200,000 extraterrestrial humans are trapped on Earth, as the largest army in the galaxy prepares to free them by force, only Cory has the experience, language skills and contacts to solve the crime.
But he’s broke, out of a job and a long way from Earth.

An addictive story with a compelling three-dimensional and complex main character in the person of Cory Wilson, diplomat, who’s stuck in the middle of an assassination attempt and… no, that would rather ruin the suspense.
An intricate, enthralling page-turner of a plot with some great twists.
Plenty of tension, action and suspense as the various factions of this complex, well developed universe meet.
Enjoyed all the characters immensely, including some unique groups of humanoid aliens, all with their own distinct culture and attitudes as well as physical attributes.
This is definitely a series I’ll be following; already have the next couple of books lined up!
This novel explored alien relationships and let the reader imagine how humans might have to deal with situations never contemplated in normal human relations. Insightful!
A neat, sci-fi tale spanning two worlds and several futuristic cultures. Fast-paced and the author keeps your guessing until the end!
LIFE ISN’T EASY FOR SOMEONE WHO NEEDS THE RIGHT KIND OF LOVE
I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review
Cory Wilson, a Nations of Earth delegate, witnesses the murder of the President of the Nations of Earth and is dragged into an investigative adventure that leads him to different worlds and danger. He has to prevent an all-out war as the Earth has accused gamra, the united worlds he is to be a delegate to, of the assassination. He is being spied on and his patience and diplomacy
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading this, but I had a hard time putting it down. Lots of twists and turns. So many enemies. Read and enjoy!
This book was a pleasure to read and was so enjoyable that I plan to purchase and read the remaining books in the series
I was surprised when I started reading this. Politics and intrigue never seems to work. We have our young idealistic delegate assigned to a race of beings who apparently do not understand fiction. His initial briefing by the President is cut short by the assassination of that president, who gave him a thumb drive, it’s encrypted so there’s a problem with reading it. The person replacing the President doesn’t like him and wants to stop him from leaving earth to go to the planet.
Who is behind this? What do they stand to gain? Oh? did I mention that everyone has a partner assigned? That the partner and the delegate have a device that allows them to share thoughts? Well, you’ll find out how that works and the implications are not sexual.
I recommend this for young readers mature enough to understand attractions. Sex is not overt, but it does happen, but only after relationships are developed enough to warrant.
Easy read, futuristic scenarios and characters
This book is very well written. There are no elaborate descriptions nor dialogue to detract from the story.
I like science fiction and was pleased to find this story of an ambassador after the mission he was chosen for changes and things get uncomfortably for him
I read halfway through and gave up. It’s not my style of book. The writing was discordant, difficult to follow, and seemed to leave out key facts.
Good story and good science fiction
I liked this book and felt that it was pretty original. Part mystery, and all SciFi, it is a well crafted story and I am looking forward to reading the second book n the series. If you are a fan of hard science fiction (Sorry David Weber groupies!), this book may not be for you. You just have to accept the fact that there is FTL travel. There will be very limited explanation as to how it or the futuristic weapons work. As mentioned, at its’ heart this is a mystery story, and has a main character that most of us could relate to. While this is also not a Dan Brown novel, there are still a number of twists and turns in this sub 300 page book. If you need a break from a big old space opera, try this book out. I believe that you’ll be looking for the next one in the series if you do.
worth a read but I don’t know if ill buy the rest of the series.
Absorbing account of a world turned over. Reminiscent of WW 2 stories I have read about occupation and war and the diplomatic attempts to hold it back. Interesting take on the nonhuman races and their culture. They are reminiscent of the Oriental cultures and are fresh takes on a different thought process.
Young ex-diplomat Cory is the only human in an alien-contact situation who can solve a mystery that could stop a war. Fantastic world-building, and excellent start of a complex and wide-ranging series.
