“I’m going to give you memories to last a lifetime, Genevieve Cain. I promise you that.”
With a loser ex-boyfriend threatening her dream business, Sweet Seduction, Genevieve Cain is forced to go to a lawyer to finalise things once and for all. Gen knows she’s only good for one dream in her lifetime, so when she meets senior partner, Dominic Anscombe, in the foyer of the law firm’s building, she … building, she dismisses any delusional ideas her mind creates involving his very fine body. But Dominic is intrigued by Gen’s run-away mouth and if there’s one thing to say about Dominic Anscombe, he knows what he wants and when he finds it, he sets out to take it, claim it, and possess it — completely.
Kidnappings, shootings, dream-shattering moments, hot investigators, and just as hot lawyers, everything comes to a head when Genevieve sacrifices something so precious for something even more so. And it wasn’t the sacrifice she thought she’d make. The sweetest of sacrifices, the most worthy offering. But can she believe Dominic has fallen as hard for her as she has for him in such a short time? And can she allow herself a second dream in her life, by letting him in?
Love at first sight has never been so dangerous and so very delicious at the same time.

I really enjoyed the Sweet Seduction Series by Nicola Claire. The books are original and are definitely in my “re-read” list. I highly recommend all of them!
Sweet Seduction Sacrifice is my first book by Nicola Claire and also the first book in her Sweet Seduction series. This was a quick read with a sweet romance mixed with a little danger.
Summary:
Genevieve Cain has decided to take action in her currently chaotic life. Having broken up with her using, money stealing, lying ex-boyfriend, Brett, a year before, Gen is still not free of him. Brett has decided that Gen isn’t done with him and has taken steps to either win her back (delivery after delivery of expensive flowers) or forcing her back which includes doing whatever necessary to take her dream from her. Sweet Seduction, Gen’s top quality coffee, chocolate, and music store, is the only thing Gen has ever wanted. She worked long and hard to make her dream a success and now after achieving her goal, Brett is threatening to take it from her with legal action. To fight him, Gen sets up to meet a lawyer. Upon seeing the exclusive and expensive law firm, Gen isn’t so sure she can afford the help after Brett wiped out her accounts, but decides to at least see where she stands after becoming ensnared in a hot-guy fog in the lobby. The most beautiful and expensively dressed man Gen has ever see is accompanying g her into the elevator. The swift attraction and arousal Gen feels is surprising and a bit unbalancing which becomes apparent with her nervous talk and blush. Meeting with one of the partners is somewhat more daunting, but she does it and gets the best news she’s heard in more time than she could imagine. After hearing her story, the lawyer is sure Brett has no chance after his gambling problems and stealing her money, but even better, they will take her case pro bono. With success to look forward to, Gen returns to her shop and is stunned all over again when her lawyer, the guy she was with in the elevator, Dominic Anscombe (also a partner), Dominic’s brother and one of his employees comes into the store. They are there to try her wares and inform her that they are looking into her case and also providing security as Brett is on radar with the cops and some very bad people who wont think twice about using Gen to get what they want from Brett. Dominic has also decided he wants Gen and he’s prepared to do whatever he needs to get her including taking the roll of bodyguard. Gen sit so sure, he’s just a lawyer as far as she knows, but also her feelings toward him after such a short period of time are overwhelming and scary. With her life imploding around her, Gen is wary of getting involved with a man who couldn’t possibly want her for anything other than pleasure. With the heartache and insecurities Brett left her, Gen cant trust that Dominic is any better than him. Dominic is different though and he’s determined Gen will know it by pulling out the stops for her protection and the end of the threat against her. Unfortunately, Brett is a little more unstable and unpredictable than even Gen knew after sevens years and Gen is caught up with his plans. Gen is moved and slowly convinced by Dominic’s persistence and unending dedication to her safety as well as the wake up calls she receives from the dangerous situations she’s put in. When things are looking up, it will take extreme trust and love between them for Dominic and Gen to pull through, but also a sacrifice of something so precious for something more so in order to defeat a situation involving not only Gen’s past but Dominic’s as well.
Genevieve was an alright heroine. She achieved a lot on her own, but she still had a naïveté that was sometimes annoying. To a degree, I can understand as she went through a massive amount of emotional and mental abuse, but then again I just felt she wasn’t trying g hard enough or refusing to think clearly. Dominic was alpha, sweet, strong, and protective. I didn’t feel close enough to him, though, and thought we could have had more from him if we had a bit from his point of view. Supporting cast was great, and I look forward to reading about some of their romances in the future. I picked up this boom because of the reviews stating how strongly it resembled Kristen Ashley (my fave author), and while it did have a remarkable resemblance, I felt it could have contained a bit more. Not necessarily KA, gut more of the author herself. I did like the story enough to be intrigued by other characters and will most likely read on due to curiosity of how it all ends. <3
