As always Melinda Leigh writes another amazing book, I LOVED IT!! This is maybe one of the best one in the series. Each one gets better and better. This is a must read series.
THIS REVIEW IS FOR BOTH THE AUDIOBOOK AND EBOOK VERSIONS
Great story plot, loved the action. The characters were interesting and the narrator did a great job with all the characters. This was a thrilling story. I definitely recommend this book.
Each book in this series has gotten better and better. I had no idea, again, what the outcome was going to be. And truly at the end, I was completely surprised by the complete turn around from how I thought it would play out. Excellent. Great characters and story. Love the fact that a birth was in the mix. Can’t wait to read more from this author.
In what’s become a traditional signature from Melinda Leigh, the first chapter hooks for the rest of the book.
Little departure from the typical hero in this one. Cristan Rojas and his daughter have been in the previous books but he was always a bit of a mystery and elusive about his past. Argentinian hit man would not have been what I thought the Latin hottie was hiding about his past. He is now a man who just wants to live in peace and raise his daughter away from his Mafia roots but sometimes the past doesnt let you get away.
Sarah Mitchell is also someone we met in a previous book. She was the abused sister that Rachel got away from her husband. After finally getting the courage to leave for herself and her two small kids she is now divorced from him but like Cristan the past or more specifically her ex does not want to let her go.
At the start of the book Cristan and Sarah are only connected by his daughter Lucia who babysits Sarah’s kids but before long the two are thrown into a nightmare when both their pasts end up intersecting.
One of the things I’ve come to really love about this series is all the previous characters/couples play a big part in each book. Westbury, Pennsylvania may be a small town but it sure has its fair share of trouble and characters always have each others backs during those times.
She Can Kill is a fast pasted and suspenseful read. Who would have thought that a “retired” killer could be a loveable character, but the author has managed to make Christopher Navarro (aka: Cristan Rojas) just that. His love for his daughter (Luciana/Lucia), his patient gentleness and his willingness to go to any length to protect those he cares for, manages to make the reader discount his violent past and see him as one of the good guys, even though his life is a web of lies. His determination to protect his daughter and his budding romance with the emotionally scared Sarah Mitchell endears you to him, but hidden under that calm exterior is an expert killer. This book has you on the edge of your seat, the twists and turns keep the suspense going from start to finish, predictable is not a word that can be applied to this book. It is an exciting, sometimes scary and yet touching book. It is well worth reading.
