“Reality TV has never been more entertaining than here as the wickedly funny MacAlister has her heroine record her hilarious experiences with a quirky cast of characters and her passionate encounters with Max in a laughter-laced diary that is a saucy, sexy delight.”—BooklistNo woman in her right mind would consent to wearing a corset for a month. Especially a “skinny-challenged” woman like Tessa. … “skinny-challenged” woman like Tessa. But dreams of being debt-free dance in her head when she gets an offer to appear in a reality TV show.
A Month in the Life of a Victorian Duke is about real people pretending to live on an English estate, circa 1879. And Tessa’s leading man—a real-life Duke—is so handsome she can barely breathe, with or without the corset…

Screamingly hilarious! Some of the funniest sex scenes I have ever read (perhaps the only purposely funny sex scenes I’ve ever read.) Extremely fun characters.
I love Katie MacAlister’s books! I decided to listen again to all of her audiobooks, and I’m alternating between her contemporary romances (such as this one) and her paranormal romances. The Corset Diaries is very funny — set in a reality show based on Victorian England life. It takes a special author to write entertainingly in first person, and Katie is one of those who can. Definitely check out this book, if you haven’t already read it!
One great example of reality tv, behind the scenes. Check it out, I think you’ll love it and the characters.
One of my favorites
Love to laugh during a Romance? Katie is the one that will do that for you. There were certain parts of this book that are laugh out loud moments. I laughed til I cried at a few. Katie has a way of combining all emotions in one book,
Loved it! Gives hope for normal, real people. What a way to get lost in a book! Love her other books also!
Love her books! There is just the right balance of comedy and story.
This is such a fun, laugh-out-loud book!
Great read
Little plot. Mostly about the “sexual” tension between the two main characters. I read about half of it then gave up.
I only read the sample, but I am buying the book, as it was such a funny read so far, I want to read the rest of it. So, that right there is a good recommendation!
A modern twist on historical romance? It was entertaining but not completely believable and seemed a bit contrived.
Fun
Very witty writer. Love her writing style for all her romantic comedies.
Slightly funny but a very slow paced book with an abrupt ending.
I got about halfway through and just gave up. The storyline seemed promising but, I just could not get past the main character who was an American from Seattle in her late 30’s. She spoke like she was a 70 or 80 yr old British person. It was just driving crazy I was getting so mad that no American speaks using phrases like this lady who was supposedly in her 30’s and American.
A little wordy at times and funny at times.
I had to reread pages cause I was laughing so hard the whole book is amazing I normally don’t read modern romances but I will most likely reread this book in a couple of months I try to describe the story line to friends and can’t stop laughing
