#1 New York Times bestselling author Daniel Silva’s celebrated debut novel, The Unlikely Spy, is “A ROLLER-COASTER WORLD WAR II ADVENTURE that conjures up memories of the best of Ken Follett and Frederick Forsyth” (The Orlando Sentinel).“In wartime,” Winston Churchill wrote, “truth is so precious that she should always be attended by a bodyguard of lies.” For Britain’s counterintelligence … For Britain’s counterintelligence operations, this meant finding the unlikeliest agent imaginable—a history professor named Alfred Vicary, handpicked by Churchill himself to expose a highly dangerous, but unknown, traitor. The Nazis, however, have also chosen an unlikely agent. Try as I might, I can’t get Gabriel Allon out of my mind! Daniel Silva’s characters are real, fascinating, and enduring. Five stars plus!
Typical for this author !
Really enjoyed it. Brings what is happening in the mid-east to reality
This guys writes like Iwish I could. Every
book a winner.
Always a good read!
Was a good story with good writing until the end, felt rushed. This story line was similar to Eye of the Needle.
Hands down, Daniel Silva is my favorite ever novelist. Even with Gabriel and other reoccurring characters, his novels are engaging & compelling
Great Author! A good page turner, with twists and turns. Just when you think you know where it is going, another road is taken. Also good descriptions of where the action is taking place. Fun and fast moving.
Very exciting tale about spies during WW II. The bad guys are depicted as humans, with flaws but also with great qualities.
I’ve read all the book with Gabriel Allon as the main character. All are great reads by a writer who is very good at what he does. Can’t wait for the next one.
A great book from a favorite author. Always excited when his next book is announced.
I reviewed this on a different site and hope I repeat it right here. I am a true Daniel Silva fan. This is Daniel Silva’s first novel. It is not part of the Gabriel Allow series, but it shares many of the same traits–historical fiundation, taut we riting, and compelling, flawed characters. While we already know the historical outcome, it nevertheless draws us in and captivates to the last page.
I love Daniel Silva novels. I decided to try this early work of his and was very disappointed. I’m all for character development but he really got carried away with it in this one. This is one of the only books that I’ve started recently that I just lost interest in about 50% of the way through it and never went back to finish it.
There’s nothing better than starting a Daniel Silva novel! And I am so sad that i can’t put it down, because then it’s over!!
after awhile the main character gets pretty stagnant. lots of books in the series.
I LOVE every book by Daniel Silva. Have read them all. Fantastic!!
All of his books are wonderful.
