There was only one rule—desiring them was forbidden. But rules were made to be broken… been able to access for thousands of years. Being an “empath” may explain her wistful connection to the roiling waves of the ocean, the sanctuary it provides, and the sexual urges that seem to emanate from fathoms below…

This fascinating new series is an earth shattering, thrillingly explosive read that readers will want to revisit again and again. The characters are intriguing, unique and sexy as well as bold and bad to the bone which makes reading the story quite interesting since readers have an abundance of hotness to read about. Riley and Conlan have some seriously electrical chemistry going on and their attraction defies the gods and of course defies traditions which puts Conlan in the hot seat. The relationship not only has to overcome that obstacle but has some emotionally turbulent issues intervening right along with all the danger Conlan and Riley are facing.
Forbidden love, surprising truths, bitter betrayals, thrilling suspense and heart pounding excitement flow from the pages throughout this fast paced story which ensures that readers don’t want to put the book down. A capricious and scary god puts in an appearance, well his voice does anyway, adding some jaw dropping twists to the story while some evil vampires try take over the human world which leads the warriors into some stunning battles. With vividly painted images that makes the world come alive for the readers, the author has created a fascinating and different world around the myth of Atlantis that promises to keep readers well entertained and wanting more.
Story of Atlantian and his fated woman. Lots of interesting characters and interesting plot settings. A new world of paranormal romance with lots of chemistry. Will continue reading the rest of the series.
Meet Conlan, High Prince of Atlantis and leader of Poseidon’s Warriors. You could clean laundry with those abs. Conlan has been held hostage by an enemy for seven(ish) years and returns to find Poseidon’s Trident stolen by one of their own. The entire book focuses on the recovery of the trident as well as, you guessed it, the romance with Riley. I enjoyed the characters, particularly the other warriors, but Riley didn’t really mesh with me. I think the empath angle was relied upon too heavy and there was no real character growth, especially when comparing her with Conlan. I don’t think Conlan should have been able to get over his PTSD so quickly but the plot was a very quick pace and you know how insta-love heals all wounds and. The sexy times were steamy and well written much like the rest of the book. I did start to get bored about halfway through the book and irritated about the lack of movement. Additionally, I didn’t really understand how “forbidden” their love really was. I haven’t decided if I will continue with the series. I may try one of the novellas as I think that length may work better for me with this series. Overall, it was decent and would recommend to someone that has a hankering for a beautiful bands of warriors.
This was a well-written, entertaining book. Hot Atlantean warriors, a spunky heroine, vampires, empaths, shapeshifters, humor, sexiness and nonstop action – what more could someone want from a story? I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more books in this series.
This is an action packed romantic suspense series in book 1. Royal Prince Conlan and his Atlantean warriors have come to protect humans and try to turn the tide against the Shifter’s and Vampires roaming earth to create havoc. Conlan lands on the beach before his brother and the others and he meets and has a complete mind meld with Riley who has come to the beach after she’d gone through a domestic dispute that hadn’t ended well and she had to get away and she always went to the beach to find her peace for many years. She and her twin could communicate through telepathy but her twin was not around and she could not connect with her, but while she was crying she heard Conlan speak to her and she saw somethings that she could hardly believe but the prince realize that this young woman was everything he ever wanted or will want. Riley wasn’t as convienced as he was but she was spunky and determined and she had a heart of gold but what she was about to get involved in was a very, very dangerous game. AduIt content. Great characters. I was given a copy as a gift from the author without obligation. I am providing an honest review.
Woo Hoo! Alyssa Day has certainly caught my attention with an empathic Riley Dawson and a hot group of Poseidon’s warriors that are on a treasure hunt, of sorts. I know I’m all tingly and ready to go. lol
Her grief called to him. It would not be denied. He must got to her.
The mental telepathic dialogue had me cracking up, so I put a smile on my face and prepared myself for a fun, sexy read. I mean, she’s an empath and he’s a high prince, the first of Poseidon’s warriors, so what could possibly go wrong.
“You’re not going to drink my blood or rip my arms off, are you? Because my day has really sucked, and I’m so not up for that,” she said…
Barrabas, a powerful vampire, felt the disturbance caused by their meeting. Oh man, so cool. Water warriors and blood sucking Vampires. What more could I want? I am hooked and happy.
Everything Conlan does is for Atlantis, so denying his overwhelming desire for Riley, who is not only a forbidden human, but also an empath, literally brought him to his knees. Conlan and his warriors were tasked with protecting the humans from shapeshifters and vampires, and were clearly from the Land of Hunk.
I am feeling upbeat, having fun, sharing Conlan and Riley’s internal dialogue and lovin ‘ every minute of it. And now we find out why they are above ground…Poseidon’s Trident has been stolen. Conlan could lose his kingdom if they don’t recover it.
“You’re not a vampire, because you’ve got a heartbeat,” she said. “Are you a shapeshifter? What kind of furry are you going to get?” He laughed. “I’m not going to turn furry, brave one. I am nothing you know.”
Conlan knows that empaths don’t exist, yet here’s Riley. He also knows that the soul meld doesn’t exist, yet how to explain the sparks between them.
Well, Alyssa, you drew me in, kept me riveted to the pages, worrying and fretting, laughing and smiling, never letting me go. The action kept the story flowing as I devoured the words. The world created was full of wonder and I am so happy to have been able to visit Atlantis and meet all these fabulous characters that escaped from the mind of Alyssa Day.
I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of Atlantis Rising by Alyssa Day.

First let me state, I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review.
Holy shiznet!!! This story was awesome. Conlan, high Prince of Atlantis, is one hot, sexy man. He meets Riley, who happens to be some sort of empath, and the sparks fly. So much is going on with vampires trying to take over the world, a goddess who’s a psycho, and a for with a bit of a sense of humor. All this going on, with two people falling for each other. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series. I recommend this read 5 Thumbs up
This is the first in the Warriors of Poseidon Series (and one of my favorites) and is the story of Conlon who when he returned from a from a seven yr. imprisonment by the the vamp Goddess of Death Anubisa, who delighted in depraved pain and torture, he found that Poseidon Trident had been stolen. When with his brother and the Seven, his most trusted soldiers, he set out to retrieve it he came across Riley a human aknasha/empath. To begin with he used the fact that she was the first of her kind that they had come across in generations to stay near her, but in truth they were connected and he didn’t want to let her go, she was his. They faced an attempted coup to the throne, vampires, and a jealous goddess, and an arranged engagement to be together….. but will the Sea God Poseidon be the one thing they can not overcome, or can they win a future with their Soul deep bond. Though this can be read as a standalone, it is better when followed by the other books in this series. No cheating between the H and h……. a stasis frozen bride didn’t know the difference so doesn’t count. No cliffhanger, though it does leave the story open for the following books.
I have read and reviewed this as a voluntary ARC.
I loved this story. It was so easy to fall into and get carried away. You get so much in this book. Empath, sea God’s, vampires and more. A great start to a series I must read.
If you enjoy stories of Atlantis and the gods then this story might be for you.
Conlan is the heir presumptive to the Atlantis throne but he has been missing for years but not by choice until the day he returns.
Torture and rape went hand in hand for him. Things are not the same once he returns he has a theft and insurrection to combat. If these were his only problems ot might be a walk in the park.
Riley is a caseworker trying to save some of the hopeless cases in the system when she experiences a potential life ending ordeal. She will send out into the world her pain and open up possibilities unknown for centuries.
This book will open up the world to more than shape shifter but to the beginning of the return of Atlantis.
Conlan and Riley’s book is terrific! One of my favorite paranormal series ever. Can’t wait to read the next book! Definitely recommend this book!
Capital City of Atlantis, 9600 B.C. It was the time before the Cataclysm, forced upon Atlanteans by the greed of humanity. In Poseidon’s Temple, in the soul of the Seven Isles of Atlantis, a group of warriors met with the sea god’s high priest. He divided them into seven groups of seven and assigned each a sacred duty and an object of power – a magic imbued gemstone. Some were to sink to the bottom of the world, shielded from prying eyes and envious lusts by the waters that nurtured them. Others were to join the lands of humans at assigned locations – all high grounds that would protect the lineage in the event of severe flooding. All would wait. And watch. And protect. And serve as first warning on the eve of humanity’s destruction. Then, and only then, Atlantis would rise. For they were the Warriors of Poseidon, and the mark of the Trident they bore served as witness of their sacred duty to safeguard mankind. Whether they liked it or not.
OMG, what do you say when you have Greek Mythology, characters from the Roman Empire, Shifters and Vampires all in the same story? What happens when a God is dressed down and ridiculed by a mere mortal? I’m telling you, this is a storyline the likes of which I’ve never read but have savored it so thoroughly so nary a clue or tidbit was missed. The characters, all of them, are so interactive and genuine with personalities that will literally carry you away with whatever emotion they are portraying at the time. This is truly a remarkable book and a series I look forward to immersing myself in over and over.
Love
Alyssa has and always will be one of my favorite pnr authors. I’ve loved every one of these Warriors of Poseidon books. I highly recommend this series if you love pnr.
A tortured Atlantian Prince and a beautiful human empath make for a fantastic romantic and funny story. I loved it!!!
Riley Dawson was having a bad day, and then she encounter Conlan, High Prince of Atlantis and things kept going downhill from there. Of course he’s a sexy hunk of a warrior, so there’s that, and an there’s attraction that neither can resist, but then there are the vampires that keep attacking, the mission Conlan and his warriors are on to retrieve Poseidon’s trident from the thief who stole it (which Riley becomes involved in), a run-in with a god with unexpected consequences, and then finding out her sister isn’t the fragile flower she always thought she needed to protect. There was a lot happening in a short period of time, but Riley and Conlan want each other so much, they just have to get through it all and make that happily ever after happen. I liked the Atlantean warriors and their sort of psycho god Poseidon, and Riley and her sister’s empathic abilities are interesting. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens next in the series.
I really enjoyed Riley and Conlan story. A broken prince , and a social worker who is an empath. Healing one another and trying to save mankind from vampires . Some witty banter , a priest with a cold starr, and young warrior who takes his job very serious what could go wrong. Great book highly recommended.
Very interesting paranormal, full of action, magic and love. It is a bit gory but that is to be expected when in battle to world. Riley is a female warrior with a very compassionate heart for the less fortunate, her sister Quinn takes female warrior to a whole new level both are gifted and fighting their own type of battles. Conlan and his people are on a mission to recover the Trident, I love their old school mannerisms, he is totally caught off guard by his first encounter with Riley. Conlan is the type that gives his all, very dedicated & committed to Atlantis and Riley. Riley is so bold and brave, perfect match for this king. Poseidon conceited antics were laughable helping to make this a very interesting and entertaining story.
