2nd book in a long series by a Christian author.
Luana Ehrlich was a new author for me, but Two Days in Caracas was well written and a very interesting book.
This is the second book in the Ehrlich Titus Ray Thriller series, and it picks up where the first book left off. Titus, a Level 1 covert agent for the CIA is in Venezuela following the trail of a Hezbollah assassin who has killed a high-level CIA agent/friend, and who he believes plans to kill him. Ehrlich excels in operational detail, psychological insight, and weaving a web of conflicting reasons behind her characters’ activities and purposes.
Titus, I like to think of him as the reluctant spy, is a deeply defined and brilliant man who has only one reason for being and that is espionage, solving crimes, and keeping America safe. However, recently, he has begun to question his motives, his existence, and his mission.
In this book, he is partnered up with a young agent, Ben Mitchell, who is a younger version of the older spy. In Ben, Titus sees himself, and because of that, he mentors the young man whom he alone considers having the “right stuff” to be an operational field agent.
This is a tale with disturbing realities in it. The infiltration of South America by enemy Islamic terrorists and their networks, all dangerously disposed to creating chaos in the US. How much closer to the truth do we have to get?
If you like espionage thrillers I recommend both A Night in Tehran and Two Days in Caracas.
Luana Ehrlich Has become one of my favorite authors, and I immediately decided to read the Titus Ray Thrillers. If you have never read any of Luana’s books grab one and read it, you won’t be disappointes.
A realistic Christian thriller.
Great book. Well developed plot and characters
A little slow to read but I enjoyed the characters and the love interest.
Great book!!!
Titus Ray finds himself in San Jose, Costa Rica, on a new mission: to capture a dreaded jihadist assassin, from his past: Ahmed Al-Amin. While there, he is introduced to Ben Mitchell, a new agent. The problem is the agent arrogant, surly, and doesn’t take any guff from anyone. Needless to say, this does not go over very well with Titus.
But then he’s called home after being notified of a family emergency. While there he finds himself facing Detective Nikki Saxon, with whom he has yet to figure out exactly what their relationship is.
But the mission continues and he’s off back down to San Jose. Titus and his group determines the killer has been contracted out to make a hit. But who is it? And where and when is it going to occur?
This all happens during his two-day stay in Caracas, Venezuela.
Along the way, Titus finds himself at peace even in the most dangerous events.
Ms. Ehrlich has smoothly written the story with great detail. This just makes it an exciting and enjoyable book to read.
This series is great! Characters are well developed and you don’t want to let them go while waiting for the next book.
I love Titus Ray Thrillers
