Diviner’s Prophecy (Diviner #1) was a great read by Nicolette Andrews. Maea was cursed when a sorcerer took away her past and leaving her with only her name. She finds out that her memories were taken to cover up a plot that threatens her kingdom. She knows that she is the only person who can stop him. She must find the sorcerer in order to break the curse. It isn’t as easy as it sounds because he never intended to be found so she must see into the future to guide her. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.
This was a page turner and kept me interested. Good attention to detail but I feel it could have been more since some things were not revealed. Either way good read and I will read this series to see how it developes.
DON’T JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS WITHOUT THE FULL PICTURE
I received this book for free and am giving my honest and voluntary review
Maea is a prophetic seer who has had her memories removed. She gets ill whenever she tries to divine anything. Johai is her guard and works for Maea’s foster mother. Maea believes that they are evil because she remembers them differently and they keep her confined to her rooms, sometimes locked inside. Maea meets prince Adair who is a womanizer and a sweet-talker. She begins to fall for him.
This story contains twists of fate, murder, treachery and unrequited love that leads to anger.
I enjoyed this story and am looking forward to the next in the series. I felt that the narrator did not bring the characters to life the way they deserved to be brought to life, but the story itself is very good and the character development within the story is very good. I’d definitely recommend the book and can’t wait to listen to the next in series. One big thing to know before listening or reading – this is Book 1 in the series and is NOT standalone. It is a cliffhanger, which I don’t like, and does not resolve anything before ending.
Diviner’s Prophecy by Nicolette Andrews is book one in the Diviner’s Trilogy that I listened to on audio narrated by Anna Castigloni. This book is outside my usual reading genre but I did enjoy it and look forward to reading book two Diviner’s Curse. I did find the story to be a bit slow, but Nicolette did pull me in and I had to know how it was going to end. Anna did a great job narrating. I enjoyed the different voices she used for the different characters. I cannot wait to find other projects that she has worked on. The book does end on a cliffhanger. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Fantasy or Royal storylines.
The story of Maea, a 16 year old diviner, seeks to first figure out who took her memories, the last diviner, a line of women who can see into the past and future and her powers weak. I didn’t know what would happen and who was really on her side throughout most of the book. It is full of twist and turns lead her to court where she is plunged into a world of royal intrigue. She foresees a dire future if the sorcerer and his allies cannot be stopped. The sorcerer will unleash an ancient evil that will destroy her kingdom.
