Dimpled smile of a boy * Hard body of a man * Sings like an angel * Fucks like the devil * I was stuck between a rock(star) and a hard place. At fifteen, his poster hung on my bedroom wall. At twenty-five his body hovered over mine. Every girl’s fantasy became my reality. I was dating a rockstar. Yet I was slowly falling for another man. The problem was–the two men–they shared a tour bus. … bus. Flynn Beckham was the opening act. Dylan Ryder was the headliner. What happens when the opening act begins to shine so bright, it seems to dim everything else in its wake? I’ll tell you what happens. Things get ugly.

Sexy & a nice guy & he gets the girl
The irresistible rock star from Throb, Flynn gets his HEA. He falls for Lucky. Unfortunately, she’s the girlfriend of the main act. A delicious rock star romp! Yes, the relationships are messy, but that’s life. Loved this book! Steamy, tender, witty, a little drama, but oh so hot love! Flynn and Lucky are a delicious read!
Edit Review
Flynn = sexy, sweet, dirty talking Rock God
Can we talk about this cover for a sec? Holy hot cover Batman! I one-clicked this book on the cover alone. Seriously, one of my top 5 cover loves of all time! *drool*
Now onto the book. Flynn is just so yummy. I enjoyed him the most in the book. Lucky was an okay character for me, but I had all sorts of Flynn love going on. Every scene with his niece, so adorable. How can you not fall for a guy who sings Frozen with a 5 year old? Snatch that hotness up!
I really liked Beat. It was entertaining, no serious over the top drama
and I would recommend both this book and Throb to friends!
“You keep telling yourself you can fight fate. But I promise you, you’re wrong. Some things are just meant to happen.”
I love Flynn! I have loved him since his appearance in Throb. Flynn was the kind of character you root for in the love triangle…no matter what side he is on. He is just that good; rocker, romantic, witty, sexy and oh so easy on the eyes. I had a gorgeous visual of that cover in my head when I read this book. Sometimes covers just capture someone and I think this cover NAILED it.
Most people turn their nose up at love triangles, but when done correctly they suck you in, chew you up and spit you out on the other side and the end result in this case is you are giddy and wiggling in your bed (well that was where I was reading) praying for the destruction of a relationship.
I liked Lucky so that was an added bonus. Sometimes the lead female makes me want to stick gum in their hair, but she was a good one. She remained gum free.
When everything comes to a head between Dylan, Lucky, and Flynn I was flipping through the pages praying for an epilogue and thank you Jesus there was one.
“You’ve been inside me since the day we met. It’s time I return the favor. Only I’m going to be much more literal.”
You wormed your way inside my heart, Flynn. You made it BEAT just a bit faster. Well done.
I really cannot say enough about this book, or it’s author for that matter.
I am not the type to read about rockstar personalities.
Until now.
Lucky and Flynn were in like Flynn from the time they locked eyes.
Seeing their story unfold was a majicical manuscript!
I laughed and I literally shed big elephant tears, and my heart ached and fell in love.
Beautiful story.
I wish I would have known that there was another one in front of it!
Alright its official that I am becoming a fan on Vi Keeland. So here we meet Flynn and Lucky, who couldn’t be more perfect for each other. They brought emotions and feelings from each other that weren’t expected. Throughout the book we saw them playing hide and seek with each other that the whole we are screaming at them to get together already. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read from her.
This was such an amazing story! This book tells the story of Lucky, the daughter of two famous rock stars, who starts dating her teenage idol, but then, after a year, meets the man she was really meant to be with, so a love triangle, and therefore, a wild ride, ensues. I absolutely fell in love with Flynn, and I loved Flynn and Lucky together. It was such an angsty, heartwarming story. Definitely recommended!
After every dark and dramatic read I need something sweet and swoony and Vi Keeland writes just the right mix of both. I love her books.
They are dreamy, romantic and emotionally charged.
Just the right formula to melt your heart.
Beat is a beautiful and perfect rock star love story.
This is Lucky’s and Flynn’s story.
If you read Throb, you’ve meet Flynn already. He didn’t have a HEA in the first book in the series and now I know why
This story has all the feelings that I need in a romance. From an arrogant cheating rock star versus perfect rock star-boyfriend-material (Yes, there is a love triangle in this one) to a beautiful girl with emotional problems (that I wanted strangle the whole time ). Beat is the perfect mixture of sweet, swoony and hot as hell story It’s dramatic, but also funny and addictive like all Vi’s books. The perfect dream-about-it love romance
Holy Flynn!!! Was not a fan of Lucky….story/character took wayyyy to long to make a decision!

You know what I absolutely love about Vi Keeland’s books, is that she can create a story that has two of my hard limits in it and still have me come away from the book LOVING it!!!!
I was extremely nervous about reading Beat, because I knew that there was going to be a love triangle and cheating (done by the heroine), but I am so happy that I gave this book a chance, because this book was AMAZING!!!! Now normally I wouldn’t even give a book like this a chance, but I will always read anything Vi Keeland writes and because I absolutely fell in love with Flynn in Throb (Book 1) that I was determined to see him get his HEA.
So yes I am warning you….there is a love triangle and cheating in this book, but don’t fret….the way the story is told, it is easy to overlook those aspects of the story and just fall in love with Flynn and Lucky’s story.
Now I know what you are thinking…I gave Throb 3.5 Stars because of the love triangle in that book, but that is because Vi created two amazing Heroes in that book that it turned the heroine into a indecisive person. In Beat that is not the case. Flynn was the clear choice in this book, because Dylan was a D-bag to the extreme!!! She also didn’t make Lucky a whiney, indecisive heroine. I also think this triangle worked for me because the focus of this story really was on Flynn and Lucky and we didn’t see Lucky with Dylan that much. She created Dylan to be the typical Rockstar jerk of a guy, but Flynn was just a normal guy who loved music. I loved that she didn’t make him out to be the player we normally see with rockstars. I don’t want to say too much…I think this is a love story you need to read for yourself. What I loved the most about Flynn and Lucky was that they stood by each other….no one tried to out do the other.
BEAT is a standalone novel, but I think Throb should be read first so you get to know Flynn better. (Since his character was introduced in that book) This book is told in dual POV and has a Happy Ending!!!! I absolutely loved the epilogue!!! This is fairly quick read, but that is because it sucks you in and before you know it the story has come to the end.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a rockstar love story. I think even if you aren’t a huge fan of triangles or cheating, you should still give this book a chance….I know I’m glad I did!!!!
strong>Knocked out!
I wasn’t sure I wanted to read this at 1st because of the potential for major angst factor that looked to be waiting for me. The torn between two men idea from the blurb looked combustible but I was wrong. After reading it and LOVING this book from front to back, I’ll say it was well done, glad I took a chance on it because rockstar romance is my reading crack and so hard for me to resist!
Some might say that the h, Lucky, let her lines ‘blur’ alittle too much in her decade of hero worship feelings for the man she has finally been in a relationship with this past year, Dylan, while constantly thinking about someone new. The someone new, Flynn, would be really difficult for any woman with eyes and a pulse to look away from but Lucky is trying to keep it in the friend zone. Problem- Flynn, new..he doesn’t want to be pushed away or forgotten. But he is respectful, mostly but isn’t shy about TELLING her how he’s feeling.
So when Lucky ends up on the tour bus with both old flame and new friend, what’s gonna happen? Revelations, remorse, romance, retaliation??? Read it and find out why Lucky’s choice is so hard to make.
I have been digging around in my kindle lately trying to read some books I downloaded and haven’t had the pleasure of getting into yet, this was one I’m glad I found there. Vi Keeland sure knows how to write sexy, passionate men and sassy independent ladies. I love that her H’s are downright swoonyworthy, each one is unforgettable and her h’s are not simpering wimps, but strong equals who are not afraid to be themselves. Gotta say I loved this one.
Loved!
Lived this book! Couldn’t put it down! I want my own Flynn! Would love this to be a series. Maybe see what happens with Avery next!
